Elora's POV.

“You have a mate now, Elora... It's best if you focus on him. I'm sure he needs you to do that, even if he was the one that killed…” Chief Grayson was going to keep saying, but knowing where he was taking his statement, I didn't hesitate to stand on my feet forcefully.

My fist clenched as I turned to look at him. If he wasn't someone I took to heart, I was definitely going to say something bad to him. I just had to restrain myself.

“I'll be leaving now, Chief!” I bowed my head to him, and without hesitation, I turned on my heels and walked out of the room.

I didn't want to hear him talk about Killian not being the one who killed my father. It hasn't been confirmed yet, so it was pretty best if he didn't conclude regardless.

With a deep sigh leaving my lips, I walked over to my room, ready to get some rest. As I got closer to the door, I couldn't help but hear whispers from the room.
