LOGINThe Secret About My Wolf
Lyra’s POV
“Your wolf is not ordinary.”
The words hung in the air and I stared at Kael.
“What are you talking about?”
He did not answer right away, he just walked deeper into the room and closed the door behind him and my heart beat fast.
“Kael, speak.”
He turned to face me.
“You deserve the truth now.”
I laughed.
“Now?”
My chest was tight.
“After three years?”
His eyes moved away from mine.
“Yes.”
Anger rose in my chest.
“Three years I have lived in this pack, three years I stand beside you as Luna. And you are telling me now that my wolf is not normal?”
Kael ran his hand through his hair.
“You were never meant to find out.”
My hands shook.
“Then start explaining.”
He then stepped closer.
“There are bloodlines in the werewolf world.”
“I know that.”
“Some are stronger than others.”
I folded my arms.
“And?”
“There is one bloodline that disappeared many centuries ago.”
I frowned.
“What does that have to do with me?”
Kael’s eyes were locked on mine.
“That bloodline runs in you.”
My breath stopped.
“What?”
He nodded slowly.
“Your wolf carries a rare bloodline.”
My mind spun.
“No, that is not possible.”
“It is.”
“How do you even know that?”
Kael then let out a long breath.
“Because the elders told me before our mating ceremony.”
My stomach dropped.
“The elders?”
“Yes.”
“So everyone knows except me?”
His silence answered my question and anger burned through my chest.
“You lied to me.” “I protected you.” “That is not protection!”
My voice echoed in the room. “You used me!” His jaw tightened. “That is not true.” “Then what is the truth?”
Kael then spoke slowly. “That bloodline has power.”
“What kind of power?” “The kind that can strengthen an Alpha.” I stared at him. “And?” He continued.
“Or destroy him.” My wolf then stirred inside me, she did not like the sound of that.
“How?”
Kael then shook his head.
“No one fully understands it.”
“Then how do you know it is real?”
“History.”
He stepped closer.
“Centuries ago there was a Luna who carried this bloodline.”
My heart beat faster. “What happened to her?” “She united many packs.” “That sounds good.” “For a while.”
My throat felt dry. “And then?” “War followed.”
The word landed heavily. “Why?”
“Because every Alpha wanted her.” My chest tightened.
“They fought for her.”
My fingers curled.
“Many packs were destroyed.” The room felt smaller.
“And after that?”
“The bloodline disappeared.”
I then shook my head slowly.
“This is madness.”
Kael’s voice lowered.
“That is why the elders wanted control over it.”
The truth hit me like a slap.
“My arranged mating.”
He nodded once.
“It was never about alliance.”
My chest ached.
“It was about controlling my bloodline.”
“Yes.”
Pain spread in my chest, all those memories rushed back, the ceremony, the smiles and the promises, all were lies.
“You married me for power.”
Kael did not deny it.
“At first.” The words cut deep.
“At first?” I whispered and his voice became calm.
“Things changed later.” I then shook my head.
“Do not say that.”
“Lyra…”
“No.”
My eyes burned.
“You do not get to say that after what you did tonight.”
Silence then filled the room and then I asked the question that scared me.
“If my bloodline is that important… why reject me?”
Kael’s eyes darkened.
“Because things became more dangerous.”
“How?”
“The northern Alpha.”
Darius.
My wolf moved at the sound of his name.
“What about him?”
Kael answered slowly.
“When he entered the hall tonight, he sensed your bloodline.”
My stomach twisted.
“That is why the mate bond appeared.”
“So it was not fate?”
“It is more than fate.”
His voice grew heavy.
“Your bloodline attracts powerful Alphas.”
Fear crawled through my chest.
“My existence can start a war?”
“Yes.”
The word landed like a stone.
“If Darius claims you…”
Kael paused.
“What?”
“Packs will choose sides.”
“And then?”
“War will follow.”
I then stared at him.
“So you kept me here for control.”
“Yes.”
“You hid the truth for three years.”
“Yes.”
“And tonight you refused the rejection to keep me trapped.”
His silence answered again and my chest burned.
“You never loved me.”
Kael opened his mouth but before he could speak, something loud crashed outside and the door flew open, and both of us turned and then a strong presence filled the room.
Alpha Darius Blackthorn stood in the doorway and his eyes glowed with wolf power.
The air in the room changed and Kael stepped forward.
“You entered my house without permission?”
Darius ignored him and his eyes were locked on me and anger burned in them.
“You lied to me.”
His voice echoed through the room and Kael moved in front of me.
“Leave.”
Darius did not move.
“You think I did not notice?”
Kael’s hands clenched.
“Notice what?”
Darius pointed toward me.
“Her scent.” My wolf trembled and Darius stepped closer and his gaze never left me.
“You hid the truth.”
Kael’s voice rode.
“Enough.” But Darius continued.
“You brought me here for alliance talks.”
“Yes.”
“But you never told me the real reason.”
Kael’s patience broke.
“What reason?”
Darius finally said it.
“Her.” And my heart rang and then Darius looked straight at me.
“She is not just a mate.”
The words filled the room and my breath caught.
Kael’s body is stiffended and Darius took one more step forward and then he said the words that made my heart stop.
“She is the lost Luna of the ancient bloodline.”
The Moment She Takes MeLyra’s POV“Now.”The word hit like a strike and everything changed, the air shifted, the fight turned and more Crescent warriors rushed in at once, not slow and not carefully. They rushed in fast, it was like they had been waiting for that signal.“Hold them!” Darius roared and his voice broke through the chaos but it was not enough. There were too many, fire spread behind us and smoke filled my lungs.I coughed and my eyes stung and then I wiped them.I looked around and everything blurred, shapes moved, shadows clashed and blood shone under the firelight.“Lyra!”It was Kael’s voice and it was close and he cut down a man near me.“Stay with me!”“I am here!” I shouted but my voice felt lost and Darius stepped in from the other side.“Behind us!” he said.“I am not hiding!”“You are not thinking!”“I am fighting!”Another wave hit and we moved together, three of us, back to back, for a second, just a second and then it broke again.A blade came at me and I bl
