“I knew you would be back soon,” the old woman started immediately after I carried Edna inside the small house.

“Do something. She is in great pain,” I ignored her and sat Edna on the mat in the house.

The woman strolled over to where Edna was and looked at her, then lifted her head to look at me. “Nothing is wrong with her.”

“Are you out of your mind, Seer? She is in pain. Her whole back is covered with blood and you are telling me that there is nothing wrong with her?” I moved back and forth, confused by what this woman was saying.

“Haha,” she laughed as if we were joking, and I clenched my fists again to suppress the anger I was feeling. Today, I had been clenching my fists so hard that I was sure they would turn pale.

“I know you are also in pain.” The laughter had already disappeared, replaced by seriousness on her face.

“It is because you are part of her.” I just stared at her after coming to a halt, unaware of what she was talking about.
