ATHENA
The moment I tasted blood in. Just mouth, I knew it wasn't mine.... it was hers. Standing in the hallway of the Nightwalker Pack hospital, I glared at the bleeding woman in front of me and I couldn't help the immense satisfaction I felt as I stared at the gash on her lip. An injury I had inflicted on her. Sebastian's words resounded in my head like a broken record as I glared at her. "Go donate your plasma to Sienna in the hospital, she needs it." There was no emotion in his voice. It wasn't even a request. It was an order. Like I was nothing but a mere tool to help his mistress become stronger. Life in the Nightwalker Pack has been a nightmare for me. Mated to an Alpha who treats me like I was nonexistent and invisible was both heartbreaking and frustrating. When I was first mated to Sebastian, I had high hopes. I wanted to be happy with my mate. Even if he was an Alpha, I didn't covet the power he wielded. All I wanted was a home where I could be comfortable and happy. The reality was both sad and unexpected. My life with Sebastian turned out to be hell. The only times he ever talked to me were times when he needed me to do something, or abuse me emotionally. Even worse, he openly flaunted his relationship to this bitch, Sienna. She was nothing but a weak Omega. Compared to her, I was extremely powerful. But she was blessed in where I lacked. She had a family background while I was an orphan. No family name on my back or really any family to speak of. I was alone. Sebastian never failed to remind me of that. Sienna never failed to flaunt it in my face. They both made sure I was well aware that I lacked in almost everything that they thrived in. All I had going for me was my strength and the fact that I was mated to the Alpha. Now, they were exploiting that strength of mine and that mate bond between me and Sebastian. Even by Omega standards, Sienna was terribly weak. A better description for her would be sickly. She was almost always at death's door. Saving her life meant a steady stream of a powerful werewolf's plasma to be surgically implanted in her to help boost her plasma levels and strength. By sheer rotten luck for me, I happened to be the most compatible person to donate plasma to Sienna. In addition to the emotional abuse, that sparked a whole other dimension of torture for me. Sebastian's laws were absolute and he made it clear that I would dare not disobey him. I listened. An action I regret until now. For the past few years, I've been Sienna's regular plasma donor and I don't even get appreciated for it. Instead, she mocks me and Sebastian berates me whenever I do even a little thing wrong while donating my own plasma unwillingly. I had finally reached a breaking point today when the order came as usual. Once again, Sienna needed my plasma. Once I got to the hospital, Sienna hurried over to me like she had been waiting. She had such a bright smile on her face that I would be skeptical if she was actually sick. "Well, well," she grinned. "Look who's here to save my life again." "Sienna, let's just get this over with, I have something important to do." She chuckled at that, her voice like a vulture's screen in my ear. "What is more important than me, Athena? I am your biggest priority." I glared at her for a few seconds. "I am warning you, Sienna. I don't have time for this." She stepped closer to me. "Or what?" I barely let her finish before my palm met her cheek with all the force I could muster. Considering how powerful I was compared to how weak she was, she was sent to the floor by the force of the slap and she took a second to gather her thoughts before she scrambled away from me, tears in her eyes as well as fear in her expression. I could perceive the coppery smell of blood in the air and soon saw the bleeding gash on her bottom lip as blood flowed out of it slowly. The slap has attracted a lot of people including the doctor in charge of her, who stared at us both, stunned. "Doctor," I turned to him calmly. "Take my plasma and let me get the hell out of this place right now or I'm leaving anyways." "O-of course," the doctor stuttered as he led me into a ward with equipments and a few nurses already waiting. Once I changed, I was given an aesthetic which knocked me out while they did the operation. I was back up in a few hours and despite the doctor's protests, I changed back into my clothes and hurried out of the hospital back to the Pack mansion where I lived with Sebastian. As expected, he was already home as if expecting me, and he was pissed.. "I guess your bitch already cried to you," I smiled as I strolled in. "What the fuck do you think you are doing?" He hissed as he rose to his full height of 6'5, towering over my 5'10 frame easily. I used to be intimidated by this, not anymore. I glared back at him as I struggled to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill out of my eyes. "I should be asking you that question," I retorted. "What the fuck do you think of me?" "You are playing with fire, Athena," he growled. "You will lose-" "I'm way ahead of you," I said as I cut him off and slammed the divorce papers I had in my back on his chest. He took it with a puzzled expression and read it. "Divorce?" He frowned. "I already signed it," I retorted. "Now, I will be free of you and you will be rid of me." Choosing to take nothing else but the bag on me, I turned to walk out the door. Once I read the door, I turned to glared directly at his eyes as he watched me leave. "This is the last you'll ever see of me, Sebastian. Watch as I rise from your ashes." I meant every word. I am never coming back here again.ATHENA’S POVI was going to confront Sebastian today about what Sienna had sent to me the other day; I hadn’t been able to do that.Especially with the stranger that had attacked Bella in my room. He had been adamant on me moving to the mansion.Surely, it wasn’t so that he could finish me off? “What are you thinking about?” Bella questioned as she watched me dress up from the bed.“Whether Sebastian had planned the whole incident to finish me up” I stated out without thinking.“You know that isn’t true, he had been the first person to come looking for you” I chewed on that, trying to see sense in it.She was right, if there was anybody, I am to suspect it would be Sienna and her shady ways. I wasn’t going to waste my time to confront her; I only needed to find evidence exposing her of her crimes. But first, I needed to find out why Sebastian had orchestrated my return and what he was meant to gain in it.“I would be back” I said to Bella as I walked out of my room. The mate bond fla
SIENNA'S POV“What if they know already?” I muttered to myself, biting a fingernail.I had thought the poison would finish up the work; I had no idea she would survive it.The call I had received from Beta Henderson played on my mind again. They were searching, poking their nose into my life. They might end up finding out about…I shook my head, walking to the window side, my hand trembling slightly as I nipped even harder at my fingernail.A blur passed under my window then, causing tension to drain away from my body.Yes, there was no way my plan this time around would fail. The guards in the mansion would be in the dining having a snack break by now.It would be easy for Athena to…suffocate during this time.I tiptoed out of my room despite the thrum of warning my wolf sent to me.I needed to know when it happened; I could already imagine her choked screams as she clawed at the hands of her killer. It would be quite…satisfying. Just before I could get to her door, a loud bang echoe
ATHENA’S POVI played the video; preparing myself for the worst. I watched as Sienna got out of her car with the help of a stranger who had gotten off from her car also.“Don’t tell me…” Bella trailed off as Sienna and the man on the screen hugged each other. His face was slightly visible, allowing me recognize the man. “I would be damned”It was the Beta of the Black Moon pack. I had thought she had been stupid; this made that much clearer. She didn’t know she was playing with fire. The Black Moon pack and Sebastian’s pack had always been rivals.Sienna dining with them while she is meant to have a mating ceremony with Sebastian was tricky.I wonder what Sebastian would do if he found out about her…dalliances.Speaking of Sebastian, I had avoided as much as I could despite the fact that we lived in the same house.I had to clear my head and find out the truth before I could face him after what I had seen while i had been unconscious.I killed the screen of my tab, piecing together th
“What is this I am looking at?” Sebastian questioned, eyes locked on the documents before him. “It is the medical records you requested for, sir”Sebastian flipped through the pages once more to confirm he was seeing right. Sienna had lied to everyone in the pack and his parents and hers knew about it; including the pack elders. He and Athena were the only people who were in the dark about it. Anger, hot and heavy washed through Sebsatian at the thought of the years that had gone to waste for nothing.According to Sienna’s medical records which Nathan had presented to Sebastian, she was never sick. She had been healthy right from birth. Why would she do something like that? What did she do with the plasma Athena had donated forcefully all those times?“Thank you, Nathan. You can go” He dismissed his usually jovial secretary who was for once somber. The situation required seriousness. Sebastian rested his hands on the table before him, his head whirling with what his next decision mig
SEBASTIAN’S POVAs I walked towards my study, my thoughts lingered on Athena. The way she had intervened before my parents could press me anymore about the mating ceremony with Sienna. It wasn't one of my proudest moments, I was stuck between making a decision for the betterment of the family name and choosing for my happiness.Because that was what Athena meant to me. Happiness.I couldn't remember the last time I had smiled since she left.A knock resounded against the door, distracting me away from my thoughts.“Come in” I called out, wondering who it was.My father and mother walked into my space as if they owned it.I heaved out a sigh, my hand tightening around the arm of my chair.“Mother, Father” I greeted, eyes fixed on the paper before me as I picked it up.“You can't leave Sienna; for any reason” “Are you trying to tell me what to do?” I questioned, my voice calm.“Yes, it would affect a lot of things Incase you didn't know”“I don't appreciate you coming into my office to
ATHENA’S POVI blinked at the bright light that shone into my eyes, my brain feeling too heavy for my head.Flashes of what I had dreamed about came in waves. I could still feel the breeze from the picnic date Sebastian had taken me to before he proposed. But…I could feel and hear what he had at that moment. What was going on? I tried to sit up but winced, my side hurting something fierce.I looked to the other bed in the ward I was then; it was Sebastian that was there. Flickers of me in a surgery room filled my mind then. The last thing I remembered was stupidly taking a drink from Sienna. The door to the ward opened at the moment, forcing me to close my eyes once more.“They are still unconscious, why is it taking them so long to recover?” I felt someone adjust the drip connected to my hand.Nurses. They were nurses. My body went lax with relief; I had thought Sienna was here to finally finish what she had started.“I want to have a husband that would love me as this man loves his
