The sterile smell of antiseptic filled Berry's nostrils as consciousness slowly returned. Her eyelids felt heavy, weighted down by an exhaustion that seemed to seep into her bones.

The ceiling above was familiar, She has been here before.

"Where am I?" she whispered, her voice hoarse and unfamiliar to her own ears.

Theo shifted in the chair beside her bed, his clothes wrinkled and his face etched with worry lines that hadn't been there before. "You're at Dr. Kim's clinic. You fell yesterday and hit your head pretty hard."

Berry's hand moved instinctively to her scalp, fingers finding the bandage that covered what felt like a tender, throbbing wound. "I don't remember falling."

"You were in the kitchen with Cossy. There was some kind of accident." Theo explained.

Berry nodded her head like she understood and kept rubbing the bandage on her head.

"You're safe now," Theo said, reaching over to adjust her blanket. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise you that."
