I barely sleep, and when I heard rushing steps outside in the corridor, I quickly put on my robe and went downstairs to find out what the hell happened.
"Mom?" I called out to her while she wore a jacket over her pajamas.
"What happened?" I said, and she took a deep breath.
"Zane passed out. Asteria called us; she is on her way to the hospital." Mom briefed me, "I´ll call you when we know more about it," she said, and rushed out of the house. Dad was already in a car.
I took a deep breath. My poor sister can´t catch a fucking break. I looked at the time, and it was barely 5 AM. I sighed and moved to the kitchen to brew myself a warm cup of coffee. Whatever happened to Zane, it was untimely. Asteria was fighting a fight against time, and every bit of it wasted on these types of events would be needed in the end. When rush hour happens, you always long for the wasted time.
I took a sip of my coffee and sighed.
