After a week of crying day and night over Victor, over losing the man of her dreams, Navy decided it was time to pick up her life and start fresh. She stayed in her apartment, since what happened that one time, she’d gone out for a walk.
In a few minutes, Navy found herself surrounded by paparazzi who were questioning her relationship with Victor, what she did to earn her promotion, and her hasty departure from the company.
Since the day she’d left ‘VH Holdings’, Navy hadn’t spoken to Victor. If she did, she was afraid that she would fall back under his spell. She would go back to work for him, and always live under the shadow of the scandal.

Las Vegas was quite different from Seattle. ‘This is the understatement of the century,’ Navy thought as she stepped out of her apartment and into the blazing heat. She’d found it hard to adjust to all of the changes at first. She missed Paige. Her best friend still called and they chatted online whenever they could, but it wasn’t the same. The pace of Las Vegas was also different from that of Seattle. Sure, Seattle was a big, important city but Las Vegas had far more hustle and bustle. There were always people everywhere, at all hours, coming and going. Tourists stopping for pictures. People drinking and acting out. Navy was more of a quiet person and she didn’t care for the rowdiness that came with working on the Strip. Victor stewed in his hotel room. He was pacing the room like a caged animal. Keera had just left and he was feeling restless. He was also still agitated from his run-in with Navy earlier that day. “Fuck!” Victor exclaimed and stopped pacing. A short time ago, Navy had meant the world to him. Victor let himself into Navy’s apartment with the key she had given him. He was already booked in a suite on the Strip, for convenience of his scheduled meetings, but he knew that he would be spending every night in Navy’s bed. Speaking to her on the phone the past few days was quite strange. She was… distant, and cold. Not her real usual self. When he asked her if anything was wrong, she gave him an ‘everything’s just fine’ that he didn’t quite trust. He shook it off, telling himself that the awkwardness came from the distance, the stress, and working too much and that things would be fine when they were actually together in the same city.
