Harper's POV

Prophecy? Isn't that what they're seeking in these times? Us? I'm having trouble recalling how we wound up in that box, and I'm fairly positive it was Cooper's fault; if his head was in the proper location with his head that's glued to it, none of this nonsense would have occurred.

'Cooper, what did you do, I vow to the heavens above?' I mentally connect with my twin, who is visibly surprised.

'I swear on my black hairy ass that I have no clue, but I am certain that I did not do anything to have that label placed on us. '" I rolled my eyes at his show of not taking this seriously as he reacted cockily with his pathetic joke.

"What the heck are they talking about, those guys?" Whatever we need to get out of here, Jose says as he begins to crawl backward on his arms and knees. He glances behind him as we gaze ahead; they seem to have split up, one on my side following the road and the other on the other.

I growl at Cooper and bite his ear as soon as I see them far enough away. He whines at my quick movement and uses his paw to pull his ear down and lick it. As he growls quietly at me, I sniff out severely at his bad effort at being a pup and wonder if it would work on me. I begin walking backward to Jose, but when I see Cooper hasn't moved, I roll my eyes and go pack to grab his tail so we can go, but I come to a halt as soon as I hear someone.

"Police! We will fire at you if you move. "Not far from where Jose was standing, I heard a guy yell, and he turned to face us, his hands on the ground.

When I focus my eyes, I notice he is attempting to shout 'RUN' and 'WOODS,' so I grab Cooper's tail with a harder bite, causing him to howl and move.

'We had to go right now!' We'll meet him in the woods if you hurry! 'However, you must run!' I'd want to contact him.

We start to jog to pass the houses when Cooper stops to smell behind a dumpster when a small bridger snaps his snout and he whimpers like a mad dog. The metal is stuck on his snout and he can't get it off, I can't shift just yet, so I tug on his neck a little and we start to run, or at least he tries, but we are met by two hunters trying to capture a wolf,

'Stay low and don't make a sound,' says the narrator. His growls can be heard from where we are, crap, and I emphasize the word not.

I'm too intent on getting away to see a dart being launched at the wolf from someplace; I glance about to try to identify it, but Cooper strikes me to avoid the dark, and he gets it instead.

'Cooper! 'Go into the woods, I'll meet you there; don't turn back, just go!' When I mind link him, he doesn't even attempt to resist me; instead, he flees into the woods, striking objects as he goes. Once he's gone, I concentrate on these folks.

My snarl is audible, these hunters are after us, not the girl, who has done nothing to hurt us, not even as she fled away from her own issues, Chika, thinking of her makes me uncomfortable, and right now I need to be anything but, so I take a glance about me as well as what they have in their hands.

They have bandanas on their faces and are wearing all black apart from the metal they carry, I'm cornered as we entered a small four-way intersection of houses, behind me is a fenced wall, and next to me is a door that just as I'm about to pounce on them opens to an old lady wearing hair rollers in a green sleeping gown, clearly, this old lady was not expecting it.

Running through her house to get to the other houses, I notice the windows are open more than the doors; as I run to the roof of this house, the guys run, to where I don't care or know; I growl and take her broom, tugging it, and move her with me so my back is to the stairs; when she goes to take her sandals off, I take off to the roof; that Sandel hit my upper tail, dang dang dang dang

The whole roof is covered in lines of clothing, so I rush to the closest edge to figure out how to go from this one to the next when I see some little bridges connecting one home to the next, along with a plastic chair and a bucket, humans are wired animals. My eyes widened as I realized I was on the verge of being killed by a dart if only by an inch.

'Harper, please hurry! This monster is tightening its grasp on me!' I can hear Cooper via the mental connection, and we're not too far apart, which allows me to relax a little.

I move to the other side by the three thin woodlands under my paws, which link one home to the other, and as I get near to the other end, I feel a little shot from under my paw, which is a taser gun, dam. These things have a lot of force, and if I can feel it from below, imagine what it's like when it's in full-body contact. Regardless, I move off, and one of my paws slides to the side, the wood rasping my leg, which now hurts.

I make it to the next house, and I see that a couple more houses will bring me to the woods. I'm close to the other bridge when a guy jumps from the edges up to the roof; I don't waste time, and as he gets up by using the wood and the side of the roof, I pounce on his shoulders, knocking him back, and then I run through the bridge to the other house.

What's the deal with these scavengers? They start appearing out of nowhere like ants, and I dash to the last home where I can finally leap into the woods. when I hear gunshots and someone is in pain, I need to go to Cooper,. Heneeds me, and whatever it was can be handled by another human or their own kind, but right now my twin needs me.

Arriving in the woods near the cave where we were stuck for a couple of days, I think I know where Cooper was when, if memory serves me correctly, for once he is near the cave we were stuck for a couple of days, but I stop as I see something shining under a tree, I slow down and look at the tree roots to see a bike, uh. I check to see if it was just left recently, but I don't see or hear anybody, and when I sniff for anything, all I get is the scent of the trees and their inhabitants.

I dig where the tree's roots are, and I build a hole large enough to let me carry the bike to me; when the bike is close enough, I change into my human and drag it to me; I clean it up a little and discover a name written underneath the metal: "Chika"; it's her bike; did she leave it here or was it stolen? In any case, I'm returning it to her.

'Harper!' I hear Cooper plead for a distraction from my thoughts about her, and I worry whether she's okay, but I respond.

'I'm on my way; are you close to the cave?'" I inquired more, and he whimpers that the bridge trap must be really damaging his snout and cranium. 'I'm almost there.'

I hurried off to the cave, which was just a few minutes away from that tree; I needed to aid Cooper and get us back on the bike. When I arrived at the little cave, Cooper was lying down, wailing from the agony in his nose; I parked the bike and walked in front of my brother in all my glory.

'Don't scream, but we need to be near water to clean this when I take it off, and you need to remain like Harvey for a long time till you recover, since it's in deep and if I'm not cautious, you'll lose your ability to move your snout. Understand? " He whimpers, unable to concentrate due to the discomfort.

He gets up with my help and we walk to a small river that runs through the cave; I'm walking backward while he walks straight forward; when we get there, we turn to face another; I'm in my knees and he's laying back down; I place my feet on each side of the bridge trap; I place my hands on each side; I look at Cooper, who is facing down with his legs spread, ready to jump in the river when I pull open.

"Okay, I pull it open and you pull out. Now, on the count of three, one, "I start pulling it by the sides, "two," it starts to show a bit of release from his snout, and when it's almost off him, I shout "THREE!" it opens fully and I set the trap back on, Cooper runs in the water to clean himself, and I sit flat on my back, releasing a breath I was holding and wiping sweat off my forehead.

As I sit on the edge of the lake, I see soldiers approaching with rifles and in green camouflage. I must appear insane, but my dread overpowers what is going on.

'Cooper, swim away and remain under for a bit, the hunters are here, I'll try to divert them as much as I can,' I tell him.

Returning my focus to my present circumstance, I see the guys conversing amongst themselves, some reloading their weapons while others aim them at me. I scream out as the little red light shines right into my jewels and member. When a man appears in front of me, I instinctively lay my hands on top to protect myself. Disgustedly startled, I stare at the person who is firing his red light on my finest parts, he does not drop his pistol. Instead, he makes another gesture to go ahead.

"Can you tell me your name?" The man's calm voice inquires, but I have a feeling I've seen him before; he has Chika's hair and some of her facial expressions; wait, he's her father.

"Uh uh," I say, pretending that English isn't my first language, although, in reality, I have no clue what my native tongue is.

He rests one hand on the bridge of his nose while the other is used to handle the walkie-talkie radio with which they communicate. I can hear his gibbering, even though it's in English; I know he said 'this worthless piece of crap,' and then he crouches down and hands me a tiny parcel, to which he adds.

"I'll give you this for that," he says, pointing to the bridge trap, but it's the food he's attempting to offer me.

He dumps the tiny bundle and walks away with the bridge cage after I nod. I'm accustomed to being free like this, but anybody else can obviously tell I'm a mental case, so I take the food in my hand and go alongside the river to locate Cooper. By this time, he should be able to move his snout, so I need to either shift or find something to wear.

When I get to the finish, I see Cooper climbing out of the water, and in front of him is a ranking wolf, which I try to stop by racing towards him, but we all halt when we hear a shot, and I glance to my right.
