The suprise

My body moved swiftly as I jumped out of the water but before I could get out he was totally gone.

My legs go weak as the sudden frustration clouded my chest, what was wrong with me? First it was my dad best friend who turns out to be my boss, secondly it’s my best friend dad.

I can’t even begin to imagine how he would see me, like I was some kind of dirty slut.

The thought of Knox had disappeared from my mind and the only person I could think of right now was Richard and my fucking best friend.

I wrapped the towel tightly around me as I walked right back into the mansion, the house was still dark exactly as I had left it, and only my footsteps could be held but just as I was about to walk towards the stairs the lights turned on and I stopped.

I grip onto the stairs handle and slowly turn and that was when I noticed the man sitting at the dinning, he had a cup of whiskey in his hands.

The tatoos on his body looked even better as he aged, the familiar blonde hair that I had seen almost my whole life had grown thicker and even though it’s been seven years since I last saw him, he hadn’t aged a day, he looked so fucking hot.

I bit my lips nervously not knowing what to say. Mr Richard forced out a smiled as he looks at me. “You don’t plan on sneaking away do you? He asked in a calm tone and that totally calm my nerves down.

I forced myself to stay calm as I approached him and sat on the chair that he had pulled out for me. “Aria told me you weren’t in and you had business outside the states, I don’t know you were out there, I wouldn’t have disturbed……..

It’s okay, you don’t have to be ashamed about anything, maybe I should have told Aria I was going to come in early instead of just trying to suprise her. He whispered as he grabs the glass of drinks and takes it down before he turned himself another cup and hands me one.

Thank you, I say as I drank the whole thing while Richard keeps his whole focus on me. “ fuck, that hits hard, I can’t believe you’re taking it all like a milk”.

Richard scoffs holding the glass to his lips, “ you get used to it as time goes on”

I bit my lower lips as I raised my eyes to look at him. “Aria told me what happened”

“It’s okay, you don’t have to speak on that”

I nod my head pulling my eyes away from him while turning myself another drink and as I did it, I could feel his hot stare on me but somehow something inside me didn’t mind.

I wouldn’t say I always admired Aria dad, he had this charisma and charm that made you feel totally comfortable around him, conversation are always easy around and I can still remember our friends giggling about his looks when he picked her up and I had to tag along because my father forget to pick me but sitting right here and in front of him it felt different.

I know he saw me but his reaction is the least thing that I expected

I turn myself another glass but instead he holds my arms and I feel the sudden tension, he pulls away but not without taking the cup from my hand.

Aria wouldn’t find it funny if she finds out I got her best friend drunk” he whispers as he stands up and I did too.

I held on to the towel so tightly as we climbed the stairs but hearing his footsteps behind me made me so nervous and scared, I couldn’t think of anything else.

When we got to Aria room I stopped slowly turning to face him.

“ I had a good night” I whispered leaning against the door.

Richard smiled warmly, the edge of his face tucking, his eyes falls on me and for the first time I felt my heart race but it was like the other it felt warm and sweet.

Richard stands for a moment but soon covers a small space between us, I pull my face to the side and he tucks my wet hair across my face. “ You look gorgeous Maddie, and welcome back.

My cheecks turns red almost instantly and the warmest smile I had ever had formed on my cheecks.

Richard watched me sigh this cute smile on his face before turning back and walking away and I entered the room sliding down the door almost instantly as my cheecks burned. What was wrong with me?

I spent the next one week working at Mr Knox company and each time I had tried to stay out of his way but the worst past was that he hadn’t spared me as much as a glance since our last encounter and even when I went to his office to drop files he never pays me the littlest attention and it was becoming frustrating.

On the other hand I had met Richard once again but he only gave me a warm smile while picking Aria up, that night had tugged on my memory but never left.

I felt sick, a part of me was disgusted about the way I felt but another part found it thrilling.

I stared at my final reflection in the mirror as I put on the last piece of jewelry on my neck and walked out of my room.

My dad was hosting a business gala and he said he wanted to introduce me to all his business partners. My father had been surprisingly calm since I started working with Knox but neither of us had spoken to the other since that day.

My ride was already waiting by the time I got out of the house and so was my dad standing by the car and the moment he sees me his face beamed into the biggest smile I can ever have.

You look gorgeous darling, he whispers as he takes my hands.

I force a smile while I looked at him.

“I have a huge suprise for your darling, tonight is going to be the best night of your life I promise” he tells me and I feel the gooosebombs on my skin.

I knew my father too well, I knew something was wrong.
