“You’re surprisingly childish, you know?” Liviana pipes, arms crossed as she stares at the man across from her, a challenging look in her eyes as she looks him up and down. “For a man with a reputation such as yours.”

“And what reputation is that?” Blaze asks, holding her gaze well as he waits for her to start fumbling, whether it be with her words or the new confidence she had been clutching onto throughout the day, an act he knew she would let slip sooner or later.

“You know which one I’m talking about.”

“Do I?” He asks, resting his elbows on his knees as he leans forward, acting as if this were business now, yet his voice was still low with a rasp as he spoke to her, his demeanor different from when he was dealing with anyone else.

Liviana watches him, nodding and mumbling out a ‘yeah’.

“Spell it out for me.” Blaze says. “After all, I have a fair amount of different reputations. I need some clarity on which you’re referring to.”

It was a never ending drag of silence, filling the room like smoke would fill rotting lungs. They tried to swallow it down, coughed and choked and tried to hold it back - all those feelings, all those unspoken words. But eventually, Liviana couldn't help but to crack. Before she knew it, everything came pouring out. And she couldn't do a damn thing to stop it. "Okay, that-" she cuts herself off with a sigh, shaking her head as if ridding herself of her nerves. She had to do this. She couldn't stand the silence anymore. "That's enough. We're supposed to be here to talk!" The woman reminds, her sharp, accusing eyes darting between the set of siblings, who only avoid her eyes. "So talk!"The demand does little to urge the two, who only share a look and shrug, just as speechless as ever."Oh, you have got to be kidding me," Liviana murmurs, two fingers messaging at her temple. These two were going to be the death of her. "Nothing?" She eyes her husband, who simply stares at her, dumbfou

Blaze and Amara didn't know what to do with themselves. They sat quietly, keeping up their show of silence as they were left to drown in the tension, left with no one left to keep them company but each other. It was awful. After a certain point, it was beginning to feel like pure torture. Neither of them could stand it.Blaze, least of all. Liviana couldn't have been gone for more than five minutes before he quickly snapped under the pressure, spitting out the first question that came to his mind."What are you doing here, Amara?"Of course, her face immediately resorts to a frown, her signature pout twisting on her painted lips as she asks, "what do you mean?"Blaze only huffs. "You heard me, Amara." His voice was sharp, impatient. He had no time for her games. No room for error today. "What the hell are you doing here?"Amara laugh almost nervously, eyes darting from his face to his desk and back again, finding it hard to keep looking into those piercing eyes. "I... I thought we've

Alonzo and Luka are promptly dismissed and the remaining three settle into the office, settling into the ocean's worth of tension. For so long - too long - they sat in silence, quiet eyes darting around, looking everywhere but at one another as they avoided the elephant in the room. They all had so much to say, but no clue how to say it, not even knowing where to start. In all honesty, neither of the three were sure they even wanted to.Instead, they sit in the silence, trying not to choke on the tension that rolls through the room like thick clouds of smoke. It made it hard to speak, hard to see things clearly again. And right now, it was making their lives that much harder. Someone needed to speak. Someone needed to take care of this - take that first step to fix this once and for all. It was the only way to do so. And so, someone needed to do it.And of course, that someone just had to be Liviana. The raven looks around, eyes darting between the pair of siblings who couldn't even

Blaze wasn't sure what he was thinking. But what else was new? When it came to his sister, he never was. There was always so much going on with her that it made it hard to pick just one emotion and stick with it. Somehow, he would always find himself stuck in a whirlwind. Mostly negative - anger, frustration, borderline hatred. Amara just knew how to push his buttons and bring out the worst in him. But still, there were positives. Admiration, curiosity, hope, and despite all else, she always found herself playing with his undying loyalty. One of these days, he swore he would run out. His patience would snap like an elastic band stretched to its limit, and his blind loyalty being bound by blood wouldn't be holding him back from turning on her for good. He would choose himself, his own sanity. His life instead of hers. For once, he would leave Amara to wolves she called her friends, see how well she does whilst trying to fight off the consequences of her actions all on her own - somethi

Amara Castelli has always been a troubled girl, to say the least.Anyone who knew the girl knew of her rather delicate nature and could attest that her reputation was telltale. She was the drama queen they all said she was.And she was just as crazy, too.Well, she wasn't exactly crazy. Unhinged, sure. Emotional? Yes. Impulsive? Definitely. Psychotic? If so, it wasn't diagnosed, but her behavior hinted at it. No one dared to say that to her face, though. Instead, they whispered about her behind her back, their words following her like a stench. There was always some sort of rumor going around about the Castelli woman. She was always involved in some sort of scandal, wearing the title of trouble like it was a crown. In her world, it was. She had a name for herself. Yes, it wasn't all that flattering, per se.... and yes, it got her fear than fame - the real kind of attention she wanted. But it was still a reputation. She was still known. Amara Castelli was her own person. And that wa

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter One Hundred and Twenty Two

The morning had come to a rather slow end, her conversation with Blaze dying out and seemingly taking all that strange tension with it as it went. They hated to admit it, but as much as they could have liked to worry and set things right before they had a chance to go wrong, they couldn't. It was simply out of their control. Yes, it may have felt like there was some sort of threat looming around them with trouble hidden around every corner of this house - because, in a way, there was. With all their surprise house guests around, sometimes it almost felt as if they were sleeping in enemy territory. It was a feeling Blaze hated, but just as Liviana had said, what could he do about it? They hadn't done anything wrong, and if they hadn't done anything wrong, then how could he justify punishing them? He couldn't. And so, he was forced to wait and dread the day that everything about this would change. Until then, they were forced to ignore the problem and move on with their lives. It was
