Rebecca sat down on the bed with Catherine on her lap. She played with her daughter-pinching her cheeks playfully-and Catherine laughed. When she she smiled or laughed, her growing front teeth were visible. As they played, there was a knock on the door.

"Do come in." She said, without looking at the door. She poked her daughter's nose, which made her to laugh again.

The door creaked open and Zita came in. She closed the door behind her and walked towards the bed.

Violet climbed down the stairs and walked to the throne room. She stood at the entrance and peeped in. George wasn't there. She went to the next place she had assumed he would be-The StateRoom. He replied."Is he alone?" She asked doubtfully."Yes, he is." He said.Violet hummed and opened the door. She entered and closed the door behind her. He said drily, reading the scroll on the desk.Violet walked towards the desk and stayed few metres away."Do you want anything?" He asked her."No, not really. I'm waiting for Christian to come." She said openly."Oh, him! I forgot to tell you yesterday." He blurted out."Tell me what?" She inquired."He had quitted." He announced.

  • Rebecca    Will You Be My Date

Roy was at the bank of the stream, close to the house and skipped stones. The stone skimmed above the water twice before it sank. He was about to do the same to the other in his hand when he caught a glimpse of April."Ms. April." He said plainly, skipping the stone. He watched the stone until it sank."I was wondering where you were." She said cheerily, walking with her stick. Roy turned round and walked towards her."I wanted to get some fresh air." He said friendly."Roy, I had received a letter days ago which made me a little curious." She said in a stern voice."A letter?" He said nervously."Yes. I wanted to tear it up and throw it all with the others but I thought it might be useful to you." She said, in a cheerful tone.Roy let out a sigh of relief. "For a moment there, I thought I was exposed." He said inwardly."I have been invited to the ball. It's kind of funny because it isn't of use to me. An old lady like me won't be intereste

  • Rebecca    Two Sweet and Salty

Rebecca had woken up early and snuck out of the bedroom. She went to the kitchen and stayed at the door. Zita was present as well as another maid. She had caught a glimpse of the Duchess when she turned her head round. "Good morning, Your grace!" Her salutation alerted the other who was with her. "Good morning, Your grace!" The latter said and curtsied. "Good morning." Rebecca answered cheerily with a smile. She walked towards the island. She leant against it. Zita observed that she was happy-extremely happy-and was curious to know why. "May I know the reason why my mistress is joyous today?" She asked jovially, in a polite tone. "Leave us, please!" Rebecca said to the other maid. She nodded and left the kitchen. Rebecca watched her as she left. She walked closer towards Zita, wearing a smile. "Well?" Zita asked, a bit impatient. "I'm just happy." She replied softly, being enthusiastic. "Did you make up with the Duke?" Zita asked. "Mhm!" Rebecca replied in a hum and nodde

Williams was in the drawing-room, along with Tracey and Fiona. He was playing chess with Thomas while the ladies spoke in whispers. He had suspected their discreet conversation was about Rebecca."Your grace." A steward said as he entered the room. He bowed in front of them."You have a letter."Williams moved the bishop and took out Thomas' queen. His knight and his bishop surrounded his king. Thomas furrowed his brow confusingly and glanced at his master."Checkmate." Williams said with a smirk.Thomas was stunned and looked at the sets carefully."It can't be. I had played the game well and-." Thomas said in disbelief, trying to understand how he was defeated."You might have the skills but chess is a game of the mind. You've be conscious before you make a move." Williams said as he stood on his feet. He walked towards the steward and collected the letter from him.Fiona watched him as he opened it and read it."What does the letter say?" She a

  • Rebecca    Our Agreement

Fiona walked through a path, away from the house and stopped when she saw someone ahead. She recognized who it was and sneered at him. "It's about time you came." The thief said,"I have been standing here for an hour now.""I didn't ask you to wait for me nor did I wish to see you." She replied curtly. "But you'll still need me. Have you suddenly forgot our deal?" He reminded her."Oh, for goodness sake! There is no deal anymore. You were given a simple task and ended up ruining it." She scoffed."You never explained to me that the prey was charming." He said, without making eye contact."You were supposed to know neither of that. Your job was to kill her and not sleep with her. You were lucky she was kind of to plead for your life." She said coldly."And if she didn't, I'll probably still be free and you would have left this house. It wouldn't hurt anyone if the Duke knew who had sent me and what their real intentions were." He said mischievously,

Crystal made the bed and was pleased with her achievement. She had worn a smile and turned her head round when she heard the door creaked open."You're still here?" Christian asked doubtfully as he entered the room. He closed the door behind him."Yes. I wanted to make sure everything was okay for you before I leave. I guess I've done most of things I'm supposed to." She said jovially, in a cowardly voice."I'm sorry that I had indirectly forced you to stay this long. It's already dark outside and Aunt would be waiting for you." He pointed out."It's not your fault. I had agreed to help you, hadn't I?" She said softly, walking towards him. Crystal stood in front of him and held his hands. She smiled at him."Thank you, Crystal. I don't know what I would've done without your help." He said friendly."You don't have to thank me every now and then. I feel happy when I'm with you and by your side." She said affectionately. They both stared at each other
