Naya’s POV

Liam's recovery takes two more days before the doctors decide he's fit to be discharged.

His legs still wobble a bit when he walks, but with help from Mike and another guy who visited, he gets to the rear seat of Mike’s car, and I join him there.

Mike takes the steering, the other dude seated in the front passenger seat and nodding to a 90’s hip hop track that is playing.

“Can’t you take us to something contemporary?” Liam asks Mike when he notices how detached I looked.

Mike turns the volume down. “Say what?”

“The fucking music, man. Can't you change it to something more modern?” Liam grumbles.

“Oh. Wish I got any of that,” Mike chuckles. “All my life, my playlist’s been this way.”

I let out a sigh at the same time with Liam. Mike turns the volume back up, and for twenty-five more minutes, we have to put up with the old songs that come after each other.
