[System Warning! High-Energy Biological Threat Detected!]

[Target: Level 2 Mutated Abomination (Crimson Bone Crusher).]

[Threat Level: Extreme for Ordinary Awakened.]

[Mutagenic Properties: High-Density Crystalline Bone Armor, Acidic Secretion (pH 0.5), Explosive Kinetic Velocity.]

The air pressure on the high observation deck dropped instantly as the eight-foot-tall horror tore through the freezing fog.

Its six elongated limbs ended in razor-sharp obsidian talons that glistened with sizzling crimson acid. Where the creature’s mouth should have been, a double-hinged maw lined with rows of needle-like teeth snapped violently, spraying corrosive saliva that instantly melted the outer steel railing of the balcony.

Down in the snow, Uncle Marcus screamed like a slaughtered pig, covering his head as Chloe scrambled backward on her hands and knees, her face drained of all color. The remaining three Black Viper mercenaries stood paralyzed, their weapons trembling in their grip. They had spent their lives fighting human wars, but this creature was an engine of pure, nightmare evolution birthed by the blood rain.

"D-Die! Die, you monster!" the mercenary captain shrieked, blindly pulling the trigger of his heavy rifle.

RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!

Armor-piercing rounds slammed into the beast’s back mid-air, but the heavy 7.62mm bullets merely sparked off its crystalline red bone armor, leaving harmless white scratches before ricocheting into the night sky. The creature didn't even turn around. Its glowing, pupil-less crimson eyes remained fixed entirely on Seraphina Sterling.

It senses high-density energy, Seraphina realized instantly, her mind operating with terrifying, crystal-clear precision. My Tier 3 body refinement makes me the brightest energy beacon within ten miles. To a primitive mutant, I am the ultimate prize.

Instead of retreating through the heavy pneumatic airlock behind her, Seraphina took a single step forward, coming to a dead stop at the very edge of the precipice.

The biting, sub-zero wind howled around her dark coat. Her pale face remained entirely serene, her lips curved into a faint, mocking smile.

"In my past life, it took a forty-man squad with anti-tank rocket launchers and heavy casualties to put down a single Level 2 Abomination," she whispered softly.

The beast reached the peak of its arc, thirty meters above the ground, its massive acid-coated claws reaching within five inches of Seraphina’s face!

"Now? You're just target practice."

BOOM!

Seraphina didn't draw a blade. She didn't raise a shield. She simply flicked her left index finger upward.

[Active Skill Triggered: Spatial Telekinesis / Gravity Vector Shift!]

WHOOSH!

An invisible, multi-ton wall of sheer gravitational force materialized out of thin air, slamming directly into the underside of the leaping Abomination!

The violent kinetic impact sounded like two freight trains colliding head-on! The creature's forward momentum was completely cancelled in a fraction of a millisecond. Its massive eight-foot frame hung suspended in mid-air, its six limbs flailing wildly as the invisible spatial pressure squeezed its body from all sides!

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

The dense, crystalline bone armor that had easily bounced off armor-piercing military rounds began to splinter under the sheer force of Seraphina's spatial grip! Crimson, glowing blood sprayed from the fractures, sizzling as it hit the air.

"ROAAAAAR!" the beast shrieked, a high-pitched, frequency-bending screech that shattered the glass panels of the burning SUVs below.

Down in the snow, Chloe looked up through her tear-streaked eyes, her jaw hanging open in absolute horror. "W-What is she doing?! Is she... is she floating that thing?!"

Uncle Marcus clutched his bleeding shoulder, his eyes bulging out of their sockets. "She’s not human... she’s a demon! A demon!"

Seraphina paid zero attention to the insects groveling at her feet. She closed her hand into a tight fist, compressing the spatial field further.

[System Alert: Target Armor Structural Integrity Dropping to 40%.]

[Spatial Energy Point (SEP) Consumption: 20 Points.]

"Let's test the true power of Tier 3," Seraphina murmured.

She extended her right hand, pointing two fingers at the struggling monster suspended in the air. Deep within her obsidian ring, the compressed spatial energy hummed with a resonance that vibrated through her very bones. Violet light erupted along the edges of her fingers, condensing into a razor-thin, three-foot-long crescent of absolute spatial vacuum.

[Active Skill Triggered: Spatial Blade!]

Unlike ordinary elemental magic or physical weapons, the Spatial Blade didn't cut through matter using force or sharpness—it simply severed the physical continuity of space itself.

"Divide," Seraphina commanded coldly.

She lightly swiped her hand downward in a simple cross pattern.

SWISH! SWISH!

Two thin, violet lines of light passed through the night sky, flying through the mid-air suspended Abomination so fast that the air didn't even have time to displace.

For a brief, agonizing second, silence fell over the mountain peak. The wind seemed to stop. The burning SUV crackled silently.

Then—

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

The Level 2 Abomination’s eight-foot body was cleanly sliced into four perfectly symmetrical pieces!

Its impenetrable bone armor, dense muscular frame, and heart core were severed like hot butter through paper. The mirror-smooth cuts didn't even bleed immediately because the spatial vacuum had momentarily sealed the biological tissue at the molecular level!

The four quartered pieces of the monster fell out of the sky, slamming heavy into the blood-stained snow right in front of Uncle Marcus and Chloe!

SPLASH!

Dark, steaming mutant blood spilled over the frozen ground, melting the snow in a ten-foot radius with a hiss of acidic steam.

[Ding!]

[Target Neutralized: Level 2 Mutated Abomination (Crimson Bone Crusher)!]

[First Kill Bonus Triggered!]

[Reward: +2,000 Spatial Energy Points (SEP)!]

[Loot Collected: 1x Level 2 Mutagenic Crystal Core (Automatically Deposited into Spatial Inventory).]

[Current SEP Balance: 5,700 Points.]

Seraphina slowly lowered her hand. The violet glow in her pupils dimmed, returning to deep, obsidian blackness.

A 2,000 SEP bonus for a single kill! In the future, as higher-tier mutants spawned across the globe, hunting them down using her spatial skills would become her primary source of system energy to unlock Tier 4, Tier 5, and beyond!

Down in the snow, the remaining three Black Viper mercenaries dropped their weapons into the slush. Their hands were raised high above their heads, their knees hitting the ice as they trembled violently.

"D-Don't kill us! Please!" the captain sobbed, his ruthless mercenary persona completely shattered. "We were hired! We were lied to by Marcus! He said this was an undefended private estate! We'll work for you! We'll be your dogs! Just let us inside!"

Marcus scrambled over on his knees, his face covered in snow and blood as he looked up at Seraphina on the balcony.

"Seraphina! Sera, my dear niece!" Marcus pleaded, his voice cracking with desperate, fake affection. "I'm your uncle! Your father's brother! You can't leave your own blood out here to be eaten by those things! Look at what's out here! We need to stick together! Give me shelter, give me food, and I'll hand over all my hidden off-shore banking codes to you!"

Chloe crawled up behind Marcus, grabbing his coat, her voice shrill and hysterical. "Sera! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for everything I said! I was wrong! Julian tricked me! He made me steal your jewelry! It was all his idea! Please, Sera, it's so cold... my fingers are turning black! Let me into the bunker! I'll be your servant! I'll clean your shoes! Just give me a blanket!"

Seraphina stood on the edge of the observation deck, looking down at the five weeping, pathetic creatures.

The sub-zero wind blew her long hair across her face, but her dark eyes were as cold as the Arctic ice caps.

"You want shelter?" Seraphina’s voice carried clearly across the valley, devoid of any warmth or human emotion. "You want blankets?"

Chloe nodded frantically, tears freezing on her cheeks. "Yes! Yes! Please!"

"In my past life," Seraphina said softly, her tone echoing like a bell, "when the first wave of crimson rain hit our city, I begged you both for a single bowl of warm water. Do you remember what you gave me, Uncle Marcus?"

Marcus froze, his mouth opening and closing like a landed fish.

"You kicked me into the snow and locked the sanctuary airlock because you wanted to save three extra days of rations for yourself," Seraphina continued calmly. "And Chloe... you took my thick winter coat and threw it into the mud so I would freeze faster."

Chloe’s face turned deathly white. "S-Sera... that... that was a misunderstanding—"

"There are no misunderstandings in this world," Seraphina cut her off. "There is only strength, and there is death."

Seraphina turned her back on them, walking slowly toward the open airlock doors of her luxury suite.

"Sera! NO! DON'T LEAVE US! SERAPHINA!" Marcus screamed, scrambling toward the outer titanium gate, slamming his bleeding hands against the cold metal. "YOU MONSTER! I'M YOUR FAMILY! YOU'LL BURN IN HELL FOR THIS!"

Seraphina paused at the entrance of the airlock, over her shoulder, her voice dropping to a icy whisper.

"Target the mercenaries' remaining vehicle. Destroy the engine block."

[Command Received: Activating Secondary Automated Defense Sentry.]

RAT-TAT-TAT!

A brief burst from a ceiling-mounted sentry turret shredded the last standing SUV's engine, sending black smoke and fire shooting into the red sky.

Now, they had no transport. No heat. No heavy weapons. Surrounded by three miles of deep, frozen mountain wilderness in -18°C weather, with the fresh scent of mutant blood coating the ground.

"Enjoy the night," Seraphina said.

PFFFT-HISS!

The heavy pneumatic blast doors slid shut, sealing the outer world away behind three feet of solid titanium and reinforced granite.

Inside the central control hub, the atmosphere was completely serene.

The air was warm, smelling faintly of lavender essential oils and fresh espresso. The quiet ambient hum of the deep-granite geothermal power plant pulsed through the floorboards, providing infinite electricity and climate control.

Seraphina walked over to her kitchen island, where an automated coffee machine poured a steaming cup of fresh dark roast. She picked up the porcelain cup, took a slow sip, and walked back to the central master desk.

[System Report Overview:]

[Current Time: Day 1 of Crimson Frost.]

[Global Status: Civilizational Infrastructure Collapse at 88%.]

[Communications Grid: Severed.]

[Power Grid: Dead.]

[Casualty Estimate: 1.2 Billion Humans Transformed / Deceased in the First 4 Hours.]

Seraphina swiped the central holoscreen, bringing up the localized surveillance grid of the city three hundred miles away.

The metropolis was a burning graveyard. Skyscrapers were illuminated only by the orange glow of rampant structural fires. The streets were filled with hordes of Level 1 Mutated Walkers, roaming through stalled traffic jams and tearing into smashed storefronts.

Seraphina zoomed the camera feed directly into the District 4 Central Police Facility.

The holding cell block was completely dark, save for the flashing red battery-powered emergency strobe on the ceiling.

Inside Cell 104, the scene was pure horror.

The cell door had been warped off its hinges. The mutated guard—now a horrifying Level 1 Walker with a distended jaw and black fluid leaking from its eyes—was slowly dragging its broken leg across the concrete floor toward the back corner.

Julian Hayes was pinned against the wall. His split jaw was swollen to twice its normal size, his left arm hung at a useless, broken angle, and his designer clothes were soaked in urine and frost.

"Get away... get away from me, you ugly piece of shit!" Julian wept, his voice raspy and broken as he feebly kicked out with his right leg.

The walker didn't care. It lunged forward with a wet, guttural growl, its rotting fingers clamping down onto Julian’s kneecap!

CRACK!

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! MY LEG! MY LEG!" Julian’s blood-curdling shriek pierced through the prison comms receiver, echoing in crisp, high-definition audio inside Seraphina’s living room!

The monster sank its teeth deep into his thigh, tearing away a massive chunk of flesh!

[Ding!]

[Karma Reversal Triggered!]

[Primary Antagonist "Julian Hayes" Experiencing Severe Physical Dismemberment & Agony.]

[Reward: +1,500 Spatial Energy Points (SEP)!]

[System Alert: Julian Hayes Mutagenic Infection Vector Active. Target will transform into a low-tier Walker within 120 seconds.]

Seraphina watched the screen with absolute indifference, taking another slow sip of her coffee.

120 seconds.

The man who had stolen her family’s fortune, manipulated her emotions, and left her to be torn apart by beasts in her past life was now dying in a filth-covered cell, infected by the very virus he had mocked.

He didn't even get the mercy of a quick death. He would spend his final two minutes feeling his nerve endings burn as the primordial mutagen rewired his brain, turning him into the very monster he feared.

"One down," Seraphina said softly to the empty room.

BEEP.

She minimized Julian’s camera feed as his screaming finally cut out, replaced by wet tearing sounds.

[Current SEP Balance: 7,200 Points.]

[Requirement for Tier 4 Body Enhancement (Spatial Realm Expansion / Domain Mastery): 10,000 SEP.]

Seraphina’s eyes narrowed slightly. 10,000 Points for Tier 4.

Tier 4 wasn't just a simple stat boost—according to the ancestral ring's internal database, Tier 4 unlocked Spatial Teleportation within her domain radius and the ability to construct Sub-Spatial Pocket Nodes in the physical world!

If she reached Tier 4, she wouldn't even need to walk outside her bunker to collect resources or eliminate targets; she could manifest spatial rifts across vast distances directly from her command throne!

"I need 2,800 more points," she muttered.

She tapped the main radar terminal, bringing up the live audio and thermal feed from the surface gate outside Blackwood Ridge.

Outside, the storm was escalating. The temperature had dropped to -22°C.

On the thermal display, Marcus and Chloe were huddling next to the smoking, ruined engine block of the mercenary vehicle, trying to catch whatever tiny wisps of heat were radiating from the die-off fire.

The three Black Viper mercenaries had already abandoned them, attempting to walk down the steep mountain road on foot in the pitch blackness.

On the radar map, three red biological dots were moving rapidly up the mountain trail, intercepting the mercenaries from behind.

CRUNCH! SCREAM!

Distant, muffled shrieks echoed through the outer comms as the three mercenaries were dragged into the dark forest by a pack of Level 1 Mutated Hounds—former wolves transformed by the red rain into skinless, skeletal predators with bone-plated jaws.

Back at the gate, Marcus heard the screams echoing through the trees.

"T-They're coming... they're coming for us!" Marcus babbled, his mind breaking under the absolute terror. He grabbed Chloe by her collar, hauling her up from the snow. "Get up, you useless brat! Give me your coat! Give it to me!"

"No! It's mine! Let go of me, Uncle Marcus!" Chloe shrieked, clawing at his face.

The two former high-society elites—who had spent their lives dining in 5-star establishments and wearing custom Italian suits—were now rolling around in the bloody mud, ripping at each other’s clothes like wild animals just to steal a shred of warmth!

[Ding!]

[Karma Reversal Triggered!]

[Secondary Antagonists "Marcus Sterling" & "Chloe Sterling" Engaging in Mutual Cannibalistic Despair.]

[Reward: +800 Spatial Energy Points (SEP)!]

[Total SEP Balance: 8,000 / 10,000 Points.]

Seraphina watched the chaotic brawl on her monitor, her eyes cold and calculating.

"Almost there," she murmured.

Suddenly, her satellite long-range radio receiver—the heavy-duty military frequency terminal connected to her underground communications array—emitted a high-priority emergency burst!

STATIC... BZZZZZT...

"Emergency broadcast... to all surviving military outposts... this is Northern Joint Command Base Alpha..."

A heavy, stern male voice filled with background explosions and rapid automatic gunfire broke through the static speaker.

"We have lost... the central urban defense line! Repeat... Central Metropolis has fallen! A massive Level 3 Mutant Entity has emerged from the impact crater in District 1... it is leading a horde of fifty thousand infected toward the northern mountain region!"

"Any surviving private shelters or military bunkers in the Blackwood Ridge sector... be advised! The Level 3 Horde is moving north along Highway 9! Target arrival estimated in 6 hours!"

"May God have mercy on us all..."

STATIC... BZZZZZT.

The transmission went dead.

Inside the quiet, warm luxury suite, Seraphina set her coffee cup down with a light clink.

Her dark eyes flashed with an intense, terrifying light.

A Level 3 Mutant Entity leading a horde of fifty thousand abominations.

To any normal human survivor or small military outpost, fifty thousand mutants meant instant, total annihilation. It was an unstoppable tide of blood and teeth that would crush any normal concrete wall or steel barricade.

But to Seraphina Sterling...

She looked at her system display:

 * Strategic Grains & Food: 20,000 Tons.

 * Ammunition Reserves: 5,000,000 Rounds of 5.56mm / 7.62mm.

 * Automated Defense Turrets: Fully Armored & Operational.

 * Spatial Energy Points Needed for Tier 4: 2,000 Points.

Fifty thousand mutants didn't represent a threat.

They represented an absolute ocean of Spatial Energy Points waiting to be harvested!

If she wiped out a fifty-thousand-strong horde using her bunker’s heavy defenses and her Tier 3 spatial skills, the SEP generated would not only push her into Tier 4 (Spatial Realm Master)—it might be enough to instantly upgrade her base into a global-grade Spatial Fortress!

"A Level 3 Horde..." Seraphina’s lips curved into a dark, radiant, breathtaking smile that belonged to an absolute sovereign of the apocalypse.

She stood up from her chair, walking over to the central tactical defense console, and flipped open the master safety switch for the heavy perimeter artillery.

"Come then," she whispered into the silent room. "Become the foundation of my empire."

3 Hours Later.

The storm outside Blackwood Ridge had turned into a full-scale arctic blizzard. Crimson snow covered the mountain peaks in a six-inch layer of frozen blood.

Outside the titanium gate, the movement had long since stopped.

Marcus Sterling lay frozen solid against the metal gate, his eyes wide open, staring blankly at the dark sky. Beside him, Chloe was slumped in the snow, her body stiff and motionless, wrapped in the torn mink coat.

[Ding!]

[Secondary Antagonist "Chloe Sterling" Deceased due to Hypothermia.]

[Secondary Antagonist "Marcus Sterling" Deceased due to Hypothermia.]

[Final Karma Settlement Completed!]

[Reward: +2,000 Spatial Energy Points (SEP)!]

[Ding!]

[Congratulations! Host Has Reached 10,000 / 10,000 SEP!]

[Tier 4 Body Enhancement & Spatial Domain Evolution Available for Initiation!]

Seraphina, sitting comfortably inside her warm living quarters, raised her hand as the system notification flashed across her vision.

"Initiate Tier 4 Evolution immediately!"

[Command Confirmed!]

[Initiating Tier 4 Evolution — Spatial Sovereign Realm Integration!]

BOOM!

Unlike the previous enhancements, there was no physical pain this time.

A wave of pure, golden-violet spatial authority exploded from her obsidian ring, wrapping around her soul! Her consciousness expanded outward at light speed—past the granite walls of her bunker, past the titanium perimeter, sweeping across the entire Blackwood Ridge mountain ran
