I Know What Will Become Valuable

Liana barely slept.

She spent the entire night writing numbers in a notebook—prices, dates, products, companies, locations. Anything she could remember from her first life. The apocalypse had taught her one brutal truth: information was more valuable than money. And she had ninety days of information no one else possessed.

At six in the morning, Liana finally put down her pen. “First, I need money.”

The storage space was useful, but it wasn’t infinite. Ten cubic meters sounded large until she imagined filling it with food, water, medicine, fuel, clothing, tools, and everything else needed for survival. She needed a bigger space. And the system had already told her how to get one.

Survival Points. The more she prepared, the more points she could earn. The more points she earned, the more the space could grow. It was a cycle. But there was one problem. Everything required money.

Liana opened her laptop. Three months before the apocalypse, nobody was worried. People were going to work. Students were going to school. Restaurants were crowded. Businesses were operating normally. Nobody knew that their ordinary lives were already approaching an end.

She remembered the first major shortage. Batteries. Then portable power stations. Then generators. Then bottled water. Then medical supplies. Their prices had skyrocketed after the first wave of disasters. If she bought them now and sold them before the shortages became obvious, she could multiply her money.

But she couldn’t be greedy. If she bought too much, suppliers might remember her. So she started small. She found several online sellers and purchased discounted power banks, rechargeable batteries, flashlights, and small emergency lights. Nothing suspicious. Nothing in enormous quantities. Then she moved to another category—portable solar chargers. In her first life, they had become extremely expensive. Liana placed another order.

By noon, she had spent almost ₱15,000. Her bank balance dropped to ₱12,400. For a moment, fear tightened her chest. What if she was wrong? What if the apocalypse happened differently? What if her memories weren’t reliable?

Liana stared at the confirmation screen. “No.” She shook her head. She had lived through it. She remembered the screams. The empty supermarkets. The dead streets. The people fighting over a bottle of water. She knew. Her memories were her greatest advantage.

---

Three days later, the first package arrived.

Liana brought everything inside and locked the door. “Storage.”

One by one, the items disappeared.

[Storage successful.]

A notification appeared.

[Survival Points +2]

Liana smiled. “Only two?”

She checked her status.

[Survival Points: 2]

She wasn’t disappointed. She had expected the system to give her incredible powers immediately. Instead, it was making her earn everything. Strangely, she preferred it that way. If the system made her invincible from the beginning, there would be nothing left to build. She wanted to build her survival life step by step.

A notification appeared.

[New Mission Available.]

Liana opened it.

[Mission: Secure a Safe Haven]

Requirements:

- Obtain a private property.

- Install reinforced security.

- Establish an independent water source.

- Prepare emergency electricity.

Reward: Survival Points +20

Liana’s eyes widened. Twenty points. That was ten times her current amount.

She immediately opened a property website. She needed somewhere outside the city—not too remote, not too close. A place with access to water. Enough land to grow food. And most importantly, somewhere she could secure without attracting attention.

She scrolled through listings. Then she stopped. A small abandoned farmhouse appeared on the screen. The property was old. The house needed repairs. The road leading to it was narrow. But behind the house was a large piece of land. And there was a deep well.

Liana’s eyes narrowed. “This…”

She recognized it. In her first life, this area had become one of the safer settlements after the apocalypse. But by the time Liana discovered it, the property had already been taken.

She checked the price. ₱180,000. Liana leaned back. She had nowhere near enough. Then she smiled. “I know how to get it.”

---

The following week was the busiest week of Liana’s second life.

She sold unnecessary belongings. She took freelance work. She resold products she had purchased early. She carefully avoided suspicious profits. Every peso went back into her plan.

Her family noticed. One evening, Marcus called.

“Why aren’t you sending Mom money?”

Liana stared at the phone. “I have my own expenses.”

“You’re earning money. I know you are.”

“Then you should also know that it’s mine.”

Marcus went silent. Then he laughed. “You’ve become selfish.”

Liana smiled faintly. “No.” She looked at the growing list of supplies beside her. “I’m finally learning.”

She ended the call.

Outside her window, the city continued moving as if nothing had changed. Cars passed. People laughed. Children played. Nobody knew. Nobody suspected. But Liana knew that beneath this peaceful world was a countdown. Eighty-two days remained. And she still had a long way to go.

She looked at the property listing again. The farmhouse was still available. Liana picked up her phone. “Time to buy my future.”

[System Alert]

[Host’s survival preparations have reached the minimum threshold.]

[New function unlocked: Market Exchange.]

Liana froze. A new panel appeared.

[Market Exchange: Available]

[Exchange survival points for essential resources.]

Her eyes widened. For the first time, she wondered—what exactly could the system give her? And how much would it cost?

She didn’t look away from the monitor. “Don’t open the gate.”Everyone in the room froze. Even her family seemed to hear her through the loudspeaker. Her mother’s face changed.“Liana!” Her voice came through the speakers. “Please! It’s your mother!”Liana closed her eyes. That voice used to control her. Not anymore.“Mom.” The entire room became silent. “I can’t save you.”She stared at the camera. “What?”

Her fingers tightened around the edge of the table.“We can’t fight forty-seven people head-on,” Ethan said.“We don’t need to.” Liana looked at him.The old farmer pointed toward the western field. “They’re expecting a house full of frightened civilians.”Adrian understood immediately. “Then we make them think we’re not.”Liana opened the defense panel. The farmhouse had several advantages—the reinforced fence, the electric perimeter, the security cameras, the narrow road, the darkness. And most importantly, the attackers didn’t know the property. She did.“How much fuel do we have?” Adrian asked.“Enough.”“Water?”“Enough.”“Food?”“Enough.”Adrian smiled. “Then we don’t leave.”Liana nodded. “We make them leave.”---The first vehicle stopped outside the gate.
