After reaching adulthood, I inherited my parents' combat talents. Through my own efforts, I became the pack's hunting captain. Every large-scale hunt was planned and led by me. But Asher and Serena always believed I only got this position because of the former Alpha's favoritism.

The former Alpha patiently explained, "Asher, the hunting squad has always been led by Aria. Suddenly changing leadership would affect the entire pack's hunting efficiency."

"I don't care!" Asher interrupted. "I've already decided. Serena is my chosen mate, the pack's future Luna. Would you rather trust an outsider than your own son's choice?"

The hunting squad was the pack's most important combat core.

In my previous life, under my leadership, the pack's territory expanded threefold. We became one of the top five packs in the southern territories. This gave Asher the qualifications to compete for Alpha King.

It also secured my position as hunting leader.

Asher knew this very well.

A few minutes later, the former Alpha's beta assistant brought me to the study.

The former Alpha sat behind his massive mahogany desk, looking exhausted.

He gestured for me to sit. His fingers unconsciously tapped the desktop, creating dull sounds.

"Aria, there's something I need to discuss with you."

"Alpha, you don't need to say it." I interrupted, my voice so calm it felt foreign even to me. "I understand."

The former Alpha looked up, surprise flashing in his eyes before melting into deep guilt.

All these years, he'd valued me highly. He'd raised me like his own daughter.

But today's situation was beyond his control.

He was aging. The pack needed a new Alpha.

The former Alpha sighed deeply. "The hunting squad has always been under your command. Suddenly changing people would indeed be inappropriate."

"But you know how stubborn Asher is. Even more stubborn than me."

I nodded. "Uncle, I understand."

From my jacket, I withdrew the hunting captain's armband and organized files I'd prepared earlier, along with a top-grade moonstone ring. I placed them gently on the desk.

"These are all the hunting routes and territorial defense maps. Asher is familiar with them."

The former Alpha stared at the moonstone ring, his fingers trembling slightly.

This was Frostmoon Pack's generational heirloom, symbolizing the future Luna's identity. It was said to be priceless.

Since I'd come of age and could shift into my wolf form, I'd carried it with me. It had become part of my body.

In my previous life, it never left me until the moment I died.

Looking at my calm face, the former Alpha seemed to want to speak but held back.

I stood and bowed to him. "Alpha, thank you for your care all these years. Aria is eternally grateful."

The study door suddenly burst open. Asher strode in with Serena close behind.

"Dad, is everything settled?"

He didn't even glance at me, walking straight to the former Alpha's side.

The former Alpha nodded helplessly, pushing the armband, files, and moonstone ring toward him. "Aria has agreed to the handover."

Before Asher could speak, Serena eagerly snatched up the moonstone ring. Her eyes couldn't hide her excitement, smugness, and greed.

This scene made the former Alpha frown slightly.

"Wait."

I suddenly spoke. Asher frowned. "Aria, are you trying to go back on your word?"

I shook my head, pulling out a separate document from the file bag.

"These are the distributions of the most dangerous hunting grounds, including border agreements with neighboring packs and migration routes of several key prey animals."

Asher suspiciously took the folder, quickly flipping through it. His frown deepened.

"If these areas aren't handled properly, they could trigger war at any moment." I said calmly. "With Serena's abilities, she should be able to manage, right?"

A flicker of something crossed Serena's face, but she quickly resumed her confident expression.

She laughed. "Don't worry about it. You're just an outsider now. I know what I'm doing."

I said nothing more.

Serena was a low-ranking member who had never participated in real large-scale pack hunts. She knew nothing about hunting or territorial management.

Frostmoon Pack's current strength relied entirely on my tactics and negotiations with other groups. One misstep would cause everything to collapse.

"You can leave now." Asher said coldly. "From today on, Frostmoon Pack has nothing to do with you."

I was about to turn and leave when Serena suddenly spoke up. "Wait!"

Her voice carried deliberate arrogance.

I stopped but didn't turn around.

"Since Aria is no longer hunting captain, she's hardly a core member of Frostmoon Pack anymore, right?"

"According to the rules, she shouldn't remain in our territory. She can't take even a hair with her."

"Asher, what do you think?"

I raised the car window with deliberate slowness, watching Asher's face distort with desperation as the tinted glass created an impenetrable barrier between us.His mouth moved frantically, shouting words I couldn't hear and didn't want to hear."Drive."My voice was steady, emotionless. The car pulled away smoothly. Through the rear mirror, I watched Asher stumble after us, his expensive suit wrinkled and dirty from where he'd fallen to his knees. His wolf must be weak now. Three years ago, he could have easily caught up to any vehicle. Now he could barely keep pace with a walking human. How pathetic."Miss Aria," my driver glanced at me through the mirror, "should I circle back and—""No." I cut him off firmly. "Drive straight to the venue. We have a ceremony to attend."At the mate ceremony venue, hundreds of pack leaders and their families had gathered. The Stormfang estate glittered with fairy lights and silver decorations. The moment I stepped out of the car, Kai was there. His s

"Kai."I interrupted him, my voice carrying years of accumulated pain."You know my past. You know what I went through."He stepped closer, his eyes never leaving mine."I do." He nodded without hesitation. "Every humiliation, every betrayal, every moment you suffered."His jaw tightened as he continued. "But so what?""You think your scars make you damaged? You think being thrown away makes you worthless?"The intensity in his voice made my breath catch."You're wrong, Aria. Dead wrong.""You deserve to be truly cherished, and I—" His voice cracked with emotion. "I'm willing to be that person.""Others didn't treasure you, but I absolutely will."I felt my carefully constructed walls beginning to crumble. The banquet hall's noise seemed to fade away in that moment, leaving only his breathing echoing in my ears.My heart hammered against my ribs as old fears surfaced."Kai, you don't understand." My voice came out smaller than I intended. "I'm not sure I can trust love anymore.""I'm n

Every page contained records about him. Every line was soaked with my silent love.Asher's hands shook as he turned each waterlogged page."Today Asher got into a fight with Marcus from school. His lip was bleeding when he came home. I made him his favorite chocolate cake, but he was too angry to eat. I saved it for tomorrow.""Asher's birthday is next week. I've been working on his gift for two months now. My fingers are covered in cuts from the metal work, but I think he'll love it.""Serena visited today. Asher smiled more in those two hours than he has all month. Sometimes I wonder if I should just disappear so they can be happy without me complicating things."Each entry was a knife to his heart.Years and years of devotion he'd never noticed.Love he'd trampled on without a second thought. His vision blurred completely. He clutched the diary tightly, as if doing so could somehow undo the past."Kid, we really need to close up now." The worker's voice was more insistent this time

The smile on Serena's face froze. "Asher, today is the day I become Frostmoon Pack's Luna. Making such a scene over an outsider isn't appropriate, is it?""Outsider?" Asher laughed coldly. "Aria lived in the Blackwood house for twenty years. Who dares call her an outsider?"That sentence hit Serena like a slap across the face, completely destroying her triumphant demeanor.Fury clouded her judgment. She said coldly, "Asher, have you forgotten?""Who chose me over her?""Who personally ordered her to leave with nothing?""What exactly are you trying to pull now?"The former Alpha and Luna hurriedly stood to mediate, but Asher could no longer hear them.Serena's words stabbed into his heart like knives.Yes.He was the one who drove Aria away. He was the one who allowed those humiliations.Because of him, Aria had to walk out of the Blackwood house wearing only underwear, surrounded by dozens of reporters, becoming the laughingstock of the entire pack..."Where are those things now?"He

Asher sat there devastated, the photo album slipping from his hands to the floor. He collapsed on the ground, muttering to himself. "Wrong... it was all wrong..."He remembered Aria standing silently in the corner of that photo. He remembered the scars on her shoulders and abdomen. It turned out she was the one who risked her life to save him...At Asher and Serena's mate ceremony, core pack members arrived with smiles plastered on their faces, their mouths full of flattery for Serena.Serena was in high spirits, already carrying herself like a Luna as she accepted everyone's congratulations.Asher, holding her hand, had a slightly stiff smile on his face. After everyone was seated, one chair remained empty. That was Aria's seat, unchanged for years.Serena spotted it immediately, her expression darkening. She released Asher's hand and strode quickly to the chair. With a forceful push, the chair crashed to the floor with a loud clang. She turned to the elderly butler and barked harshly

The rear window rolled down smoothly, revealing a face that made me forget my pain for a moment. The man was stunning in a way that seemed almost unreal.Sharp cheekbones, piercing blue eyes, dark hair that looked like he'd just run his fingers through it."Miss Aria," he said, his voice rich and warm despite the circumstances."I'm Kai Stormwind from Stormfang Pack."He was already moving, stepping out of the car with fluid grace.Without hesitation, he removed his expensive jacket and gently draped it around my shoulders. The fabric was soft and warm, still carrying his scent - pine forests and winter air."Our Alpha would like to meet with you. Would that be acceptable?"I stared at him in shock.Kai Stormwind.I knew that name, had heard whispers about him in pack circles. He was the heir to the most powerful northern pack, Stormfang Pack. His grandfather was the current Alpha King.In my previous life, it had taken me ten years of careful maneuvering to barely establish a connecti
