The sky was red like fire as the suns went down. I stood by the window ever since I left the supposed funeral. The air was quiet. But inside my chest, the anger still burned. It was not sharp anymore. It was slow and steady. Like a warm coal deep inside.

The door opened. I did not need to turn. I felt him. His anger filled the room before he even spoke.

Alpha Thorne walked in. The door slammed shut behind him.

Eren, who was folding clothes near the bed, jumped. Her hands shook. She bowed fast. “Your Majesty.”

The Alpha’s eyes cut toward her. Just one look. Eren lowered her head and hurried out. She did not dare stay.

The room was silent now. Just me and the Alpha.

Thorne stood in the center. His jaw was tight. His fists were closed. He did not speak yet.

I turned slowly from the window. I faced him. My back was straight. I was not afraid.

At last, he spoke. His voice was low, too calm. “You shamed me today.”

“You shamed me first,” I said. My voice was even.

His eyes darkened.

The guard led me through the big palace halls. He did not look at me. His face was hard. Eren followed behind us. She was quiet. I walked with my head high. I felt the two voices in my mind. Be strong, Seris whispered. Her voice was calm. Let him see you are not afraid, Veylara said. We got to two big doors. They were made of gold and wood. The guards standing there looked at my clothes. Their eyes got wide. They wore shiny armor. One guard spoke. "The Alpha waits inside." He pushed the big doors open. The room was huge. The ceiling was high. Alpha Thorne sat on a big stone chair at the far end. That was the throne. He looked like a storm. Lord Cain stood beside him. He had a mean little smile on his face. A few other important men stood around. They all stared as I walked in. They whispered to each other. They saw my pants. They saw my boots. I walked until I stood in front of the throne. I did not bow. Thorne's eyes were dark. They looked me up and down. "What is this?" h

I sat on the bed. My heart beat fast. I heard two voices in my head. They were not my thoughts. Eren was on her knees. She looked scared. "My Luna! What are you saying? Please talk to me! What is happening?" I held up a hand. "Wait," I whispered. I closed my eyes. I tried to talk back with my mind. Are you real? I thought. The first voice answered. It was calm and clear. I told you. I am Seris. I am your wolf. I have been asleep for a long time. The second voice was deeper. It felt old. And I am Veylara. I was the dragon of the Luna before you. Liliana. I slept too. Your anger woke me up. My eyes flew open. I looked at Eren. A cold fear shot through me. I could not tell Eren about the wolf. No one could know I was not the real Luna Liliana. My secret was more important than ever. "Wow, they are real," I said, careful with my words. "Who is real?" Eren asked. She was still confused. "The beast," I said. I made my voice sound happy and surprised. "My dragon. She is talking to me

My eyes opened. The world felt heavy. My body felt like stone. Every breath was slow. My head hurt. It felt like fire had burned through me and left me empty. I tried to move, but my arms and legs would not listen. I looked at the floor. The black burn mark was still there. It was sharp and ugly. It was proof of what I did. The memory hit me all at once: my anger, the flames from my hands, the fear in Thorne’s eyes… then talking with Eren before I slept. I whispered to myself. My voice was thin and broken. “The fire… it takes everything. It leaves me empty.” The door opened. Eren came in. She carried a tray. When she saw me, her face looked happy. “My Luna! You are awake,” she said, coming close. I tried to smile, but my lips barely moved. “I feel drained. Like… life was poured out of me.” “I saw it,” Eren said softly. She put the tray down. “All your strength went into that fire. Then you fell down.” “The fire is strong,” I said softly. I looked at my shaking hands. “But it ma

The next morning, the suns were gone. Thick gray clouds covered the sky. The palace was very quiet. It felt heavy, like the sky was also sad. Eren came into my room early. She did not bring food. She brought a dress. It was black, long, and heavy. "My Queen," Eren said softly. "It is time. We must get you ready." I sat up slowly. My body was tired, but my heart was not weak anymore. Yesterday, I cried many tears. Now, those tears were gone. What was left inside me was fire. "The funeral," I whispered. "Yes," Eren said. She looked down. I stood up. Eren helped me put on the black dress. The cloth was smooth. It felt cold on my skin. Eren brushed my hair with slow, careful hands. She came close and whispered, "You must be strong today. The Alpha, he will—" "I do not care what the Alpha wants," I said. My voice was low, but it was not soft. It was like a rock. Eren froze. Her hands stopped. She looked at me with wide eyes. "My Queen… what did you say?" "You heard me," I said. "N

I closed my eyes. My body was weak. It still hurt from having the baby. I slept, but it was not good sleep. I dreamed of falling. Again and again. The cliff. The wind. Caius's cold eyes watching me fall into the dark. I woke up fast. My heart was beating hard. The room was bright. The two suns were high in the sky. Eren was next to me. Her face was white, like ash. "My Queen," Eren whispered. "You are awake... the Alpha... he is here. He is coming now." My heart jumped. "Now? No, I am not ready—" The big wooden door flew open. It hit the wall with a loud sound. A man stood there. He was tall. He had wide shoulders. His black armor shone like stone. His eyes were red, like he did not sleep. But there was no sadness in them. Only fire. This was the King. This was Thorne. He walked in slowly. Each step was heavy and loud. His boots hit the floor like drums. He smelled of metal and old blood. Eren bent low, her head down. "Your Majesty, welcome home. The Queen is still weak—" "G
