I glanced at the skinny,skin-and-bones little red dragon in the corner and said firmly,"I want him."

The moment I said that,the Grand Druid and the beastmen froze.

The Naga at my feet shifted into his half-human form,frustrated tears falling from his eyes."You'd rather take a dying little lizard than me?"

Chloe and Bjorn looked stunned as well.

The Grand Druid stepped forward to warn me."Elena,he is of the Dragonkin.Dragons are notoriously bad at reproducing.Besides,in our ancient legends,they are omens of doom and destruction!As one of the tribe's only two precious females,you must choose wisely."

Huddled on the ground,the little dragon merely rolled over.He didn't even twitch an eyelid as he continued to snooze.

Chloe let out a sarcastic snicker."Sister,even if I took Bjorn,you don't have to give up on yourself like this.Are you really going to spend the rest of your life with a palm-sized,inferior gecko?"

I ignored her,walking over to gently stroke the soft scales on the little red dragon's forehead.

"It's fine.Once I make a choice,I don't regret it."

Seeing my unwavering resolve,the Grand Druid had nothing left to say.

In my past life,I had heard from other tribal warlords that the Dragonkin were actually descendants of ancient gods.
