"Julie, I bought an energy drink for you. Take it before the competition tomorrow for a boost."

I trembled upon hearing the familiar words. At the sight of the familiar training base around me, I instantly realized that I was reborn.

When I was still in a daze, Emily Fagan had shoved the drink into my hand.

Meanwhile, the loving eyes of my boyfriend, Elijah Strauss, grazed Emily's face. He cooed, "Em, you're so thoughtful. Julie is lucky to have you as her bestie."

His words made me smirk. Anyone with a brain would know that it was against the competition rules to consume energy drinks and any caffeinated drinks.

In my past life, I had politely turned down Emily's offer. Just to be safe, I specifically reminded her not to mess with my stuff.

The next day, in the middle of the competition, someone accused me of cheating. An anti-doping test revealed that there were traces of substances in my blood and my drink.

This caused our team's score to be nullified. As for me, I was banned from competing for life and expelled from college.

When I found out that it was Emily who spiked my drinks, I confronted her, only to see her collapsing into Elijah's arms.

She cried, "Julie, I just wanted you to win. I didn't know that'd happen."

Holding onto Emily, Elijah comforted her. He snapped at me, "Em had good intentions. Why are you giving her a hard time?"

As I sank deeper into depression, Elijah and Emily visited me with some vodka to "apologize". Not only that, but they coaxed me to take ten shots on the pretext of cheering me up. When I developed a splitting headache, I asked Emily to buy some over-the-counter pain relievers.

Little did I know that she'd make me take a dangerous dose of Ibuprofen mixed with alcohol. The bleeding in my stomach was what killed me.

She looked pitifully remorseful at the hospital. "I'm so sorry. I couldn't even tell what I shouldn't have given her…"

During the police interrogation, Elijah gave false testimony to protect Emily, accusing me of taking my own life by mixing Ibuprofen and alcohol because I couldn't handle the mental stress from cheating in the competition.

I curled my fist when I recalled the sheer pain from my past life. Then, I tossed the energy drink into the trash can.

Emily seemed taken aback. Tears came into her eyes.

"Julie, I thought you liked that drink. I'm really sorry. I am too broke to buy other drinks for you. I saved up just to buy this drink for you—it's the best I could do."

In the following month, I applied to study abroad. My family had wanted to send me abroad after high school, but I stayed in the country for Elijah.Thinking back, I cringed at my obsession over Elijah. I must have been blind to fall for trash like him, who was the reason I died in my past life.…Three months later, my study abroad application was approved. I was ready to go once I received my visa.I visited the campus to pack my belongings. On my way home, someone suddenly stepped into my way.The disheveled man before me was dressed in rags. "Julie, why can't I get in touch with you for days? And why did you cancel the supplementary credit card? Did you know how hard it was for me?"I finally recognized the voice as Elijah's and was surprised to see him in such a horrid state.Staggering backward, I dodged his attempt at grabbing me."Elijah, we've broken up. Of course you can't use my card anymore."As he approached me, I quickly called for the security guard.Very soo

Emily burst into tears."I bought that bag of powder from the pharmacy. The employees told me that athletes consume that powder to boost their performance. So, I bought it for Julie to help with her competition."She proceeded to punish herself. "It was all my fault. I had no idea that it was a banned substance. Curse at me or hit me if you want. I'm so useless—I couldn't even do one thing right."With that, she successfully earned Elijah's sympathy. He pulled her into a hug. "Em, stop crying. I believe that you didn't do it on purpose. You just wanted to help Julie out. "How silly of you to think that it was okay to take stimulants before a competition! I find that adorable sometimes."Turning to me, he sighed. "Julie, you didn't compete. This didn't affect you in any way. How about we drop this matter?"The others, feeling sorry for Emily, chimed in to persuade me."Julie, we all know that Emily has always been a little slow. She was busy helping us out with the competition

The footage clearly showed that my bottle was full, but Emily held onto my bottle anyway. She uncapped it and quickly emptied a bag of white powder into my water. The footage ended right there, with many people sending Emily looks of shock."No wonder she refused to play the footage. She's guilty!""Just now, she kept asking Julie to admit to her wrong. She even offered to beg for leniency on Julie's behalf. What a bitch!"Out of anger, one of our teammates grabbed Emily by the hair. "Emily, we have been good to you. Why would you sabotage us? Do you know our team's score will be nullified if one of us is accused of cheating? You almost ruined our effort for the past year. How could you?"However, Emily resorted to crying pitifully. "No. I did not. I never wanted to sabotage you all."I slapped her on the face. "Why are you still arguing when there's hard evidence? You receive 3,000 dollars per month from me as financial aid, so you'll have enough for your expenses on campus.

The organizer scrutinized me with furrowed brows."Julie, we can't fault you for cheating because you didn't compete in the first place, but the doping test did come back positive."Since this did not affect the results of the competition, we'll only issue you a warning. I hope everyone plays fair in the competition and proves themselves with their skills."Smiling, I shot back. "I wonder how the doping test came back positive when I was absolutely sure I did not consume drugs. Someone must have framed me. I'd like to ask for the security footage. I'm curious to know if someone tampered with my stuff."Emily visibly lost her composure. She grabbed my hand. "Julie, let's forget about it. Since the competition isn't affected, let's not waste the time of the organizer."Elijah sided with her as well. "Julie, stop being unreasonable. We have no time to entertain you. The organizer is gonna let it slide anyway. Why are you so insistent on getting to the bottom of it?"I chortled, a

Everyone was stunned by my revelation.Elijah frowned at me coldly. "Julie, it's fine if you refuse to admit to doping. But how could you spout nonsense? Who would have been in your place if you weren't competing with us?"Emily let out a sigh. She reached out to take my hand and advised me, "Julie, stop being stubborn. If you admit to it now, Elijah and I will talk to the college on your behalf to reduce the punishment."I shook off Emily's hand, and she promptly fell onto the ground. Upon seeing that, Elijah rushed over to help her up. At the same time, he criticized me furiously, "Julie, do you have an ounce of shame? Because of you, our many years of hard work have gone down the drain. "Em has been so kind to speak up for you, but you turn her down."I snorted. "Is she? I can't accept her kindness."…At that moment, another girl, Sasha Jenkin, popped out of the changing room. She said to me, "Julie, thanks for giving me a chance to compete. The extra credit will help wit

I turned down Emily's offer coolly. "It's fine."She teared up instantly. "Julie, do you still blame me for what happened yesterday?"Elijah showed up right after that and pulled her into a consoling hug. "Em, that was not your fault. You had good intentions. Julie was the one who was ungrateful. Thanks for filling up my bottle. We'll win first place for sure."She flashed him a sheep smile. "I believe in you. All the best to you all."Before our turn, I took out my bottle, ready to drink, when I noticed some unknown white powder on the rim. My hand trembled in shock. It dawned on me that I still failed to fend off Emily. Had I drunk the water just now, I would have gone through the same ordeal as in my past life.I looked over to Emily and realized she was staring at me. She urged, "Julie, hurry up and drink. It's your turn to compete soon."I put the cap back onto the bottle. "Nah, I'm good. I'll take a trip to the restroom. You guys go ahead."At the restroom, I still failed
