LOGINMary's POV Reid’s grip on my arm was like iron. He held firmly like I was a criminal that was caught in the act. He didn’t say a word. He just kept pulling me through the park, away from Danny who was still lying on the ground. People were staring but he didn’t seem to care. "Reid, please," I begged while trying to dig my heels into the grass. "Let go! You’re hurting me!" He didn’t even look at me, his face was the same face he had when he was beating Danny. My heart pounded with fear. Was he going to hurt me too? Was all that gentleness from before just a lie? I was afraid of him as he had the same look that my father put on whenever he was going to hit me or do something much more worst. I knew I made a mistake but I should have run away after he disagreed to sign the divorce papers, I should have never stayed back. He dragged me to his car and practically threw me into the passenger seat while I scrambled to push open the door but it was locked. I broke into new set of
AUTHOR'S POV Reid left the house feeling good and satisfied. He finally felt like things were falling back into place and he was succeeding in making her stay with him. He got to his office and found Donald there, leaning against his desk, waiting for him. "You are smiling," he said with his eyebrow raised. "Is the world going to end? When did Reid Brown finally learn how to be happy?" Reid scowled at him but he still couldn’t wipe the feeling away. "Shut up, Donald." Donald laughed and made fun of Reid but he didn’t care. For the first time in a long time, things were feeling right and he didn’t want that to change. There was still a lot more to fix and unfold and a lot more to fight for. He wanted to be a better person for her even if it would mean losing everything he had worked for, for as long as she was by his side, he would be satisfied. Then his phone rang. It was Alvin. "Sir," Alvin’s voice was all business. "Mrs. Brown is meeting her mother at a cafe downtown."
Mary's POV I rushed out of the cafe, blinded by tears. I just wanted to get away and I wasn’t watching where I was going. I bumped hard into someone and stumbled backward but strong hands reached out to steady me. "I’m sorry," I mumbled and tried to pull away. "Mary?" I looked up and saw it was Danny. He was staring down at me with his face full of surprise. His eyes moved over my face and his expression changed as he saw the red mark on my cheek from where my mother had slapped me. His brows furrowed in concern and confusion. "What happened?" he asked with his voice softer than I had heard in a long time. He cupped my face and his thumb gently brushed the sore spot. His touch was surprisingly gentle. It wasn’t like before, his touch felt like the man I fell over heels for back then. He felt like my Danny, the one I had lost. "Let go of me, Danny," I whispered but my voice had no strength. He didn’t let go. He just ignored me. Instead, he kept looking at me with his thu
Mary's POV My phone buzzed on the nightstand while I was still feeling shaky from the kiss with Reid. My lips were tingling and my whole body was still sore. I stared at the empty bed where Reid had laid with me after our heated session as I reached for my phone. I saw Freya's name on the screen and answered. "Mary," Freya's voice sounded tense and worried. "Gosh! I’ve been trying to get to you, you need to see what’s happening." "What is it?" I asked and sat up straighter. "It’s your father's company," she said with her words coming out in a rush. "It’s falling apart, deals are being canceled left and right. Investors are pulling out and the stock price is crashing. Your father is locked in his office, screaming at everyone and he has fired almost half of the workers. It’s a mess." As I listened to her, my stomach twisted into a knot, I knew this was Reid’s doing, this was his revenge for what my father did to me. A part of me felt bad that Sampson Corp was my family’s legac
AUTHOR'S POV Reid moved her things into his room as he was fed up, he was done with her being down the hall with the distance between them. He wanted her close, he wanted to wake up and see her next to him. He wanted her warmth and her intoxicating scent. He wanted all of her. She was his wife and next to him was where she should be. When she stormed into his room with fire and anger, it only made him want her more. The way her eyes went wide when she saw him in just a towel, was a good look on her. Knowing that he had a great effect on her made him feel good. Unlike other women, Mary didn’t have to get his attention or to make him want her, she was doing it so well even without lifting a damn finger. He told her she would be staying in his room. He stated it in a way that wouldn't allow arguments or running. She stood there, trying to be brave, trying to be angry but he could read everything and he even saw the confusion in her eyes. And the little bit of fear with a little
Mary's POV I woke up to the sound of shuffling and quiet voices, the room was brighter than usual and the curtains were pulled open for a second, I was confused. Did I oversleep? Or what? My eyes moved to the bunch of maids in my room, some of them were taking dresses out of my closet carefully and heading out with them while some others gathered my perfume bottles and lotions from the bathroom counter. My heart skipped . What was happening? Was I missing something? Was I getting evicted from the house or what? I sat up quickly with the blankets falling around me. "What are you doing?" I asked them impatiently. One of the maids stopped and looked at me with wide surprised eyes. They all looked nervous. "Good morning, Mrs. Brown," she said and made a small bow. "We apologize for waking you up." "Why are you taking my things? What is going on here?" I asked in confusion as fear was already twisting in my stomach. Was Reid throwing me out? I thought he said he wanted m
Mary's POV Reid let me hit him just to let me release my rage. "Why didn't you say anything, Reid?! He doesn't deserve to walk away like that!" "He doesn't deserve anything! He doesn't deserve my heart, he doesn't deserve my hate," I repeated with my voice rising in hysteria as my punch turned
Mary's POV I stood in the quiet courtroom with my simple white gown flowing gracefully around me. I had never imagined my wedding would be like this. It was small, intimate, and hidden from the world. But right now, none of that mattered. I was marrying the man I loved wholeheartedly.Beside me wa

Mary's POV I sat across from Reid at our usual meeting joint, the place where I was almost shaking as my fingers nervously traced the rim of my cup.
