Mary's POV

For a few minutes, I kept staring at the floor with tons of regretful thoughts roaming my mind.

'Can't I just learn how to control my tongue?'

'Isn't my loose tongue the reason why Jerry also betrayed my heartfelt love for him?'

'Hasn't it finally landed me in lifelong trouble?'

'If he fires me now, won't my life be capsized?'

I trembled as he finally cleared his throat while looking at me with disdain. I could see it in his eyes that he wanted to crush me badly.

'Why is he so angry?'

'I know I was wrong but wasn't it just a few words?'

'Should I just apologize to him now?'

As he opened his mouth to speak, an idea struck in my mind and I beamed a triumphant smile.

    Mary's POV After some months had passed and the exams were already coming to an end, I made a decision that had been forming in my mind for a while. Living in the villa with Danny had become unbearable for me. Starting from Donna's constant taunts and the disdainful glances from her family that were always visiting, I was fed up, overfed up. Danny's emotional overtures that kept coming occasionally were also putting my emotions in turmoil. They were all too much for me. I needed peace and the best way to get that was to leave Danny's villa. Relocating to the college hostel was going to be the best option for now.     Mary's POV Rosa and I settled onto the couch and wrapped ourselves in warm blankets. The soft glow of the television light illuminated the cozy living room. Rosa grabbed the remote and scrolled through the streaming platform program. “We need something to distract you,” she announced and eyed me. “You are not allowed to brood tonight.” I gave a weak chuckle and shook my head. “Good luck with that.” Rosa smirked and stretched her hand forward. “Challenge accepted.” She finally chose a romance comedy series. “This should be fun,” she said as she clicked on it.
