"I can't believe this, that you are alive," Hailey exclaimed and broke the hug. She cupped his face with both hands. "I...I thought you had done something to yourself. You didn't say anything, just left. Nobody in the hospital knew where you went. I thought maybe your surgery wasn't successful and you got disheartened," she said in a low tone, tears welling up in her eyes again.

Cassian softly wiped her tears. "I was broken after knowing about the cancer. But I wasn't weak enough to kill myself. I just did whatever came to mind, at that time," Cassian replied.

"Now, you're fine? I mean, your cancer?" Hailey asked in a concerned tone. She knew he had told her, but she wanted to confirm.

"Yes, I've been cancer-free for the last three years. But tell me, what were you doing in Bristol?" Cassian asked.

Hailey stiffened on hearing this but composed herself and removed her hands from his face. "Many things had already changed in my life, but the day you left, everything changed," Hailey sai
