Vienna’s POV

"Don’t worry about me, Mom. You’ll never have to worry about stupid Desiree again," Desiree mumbled from the other side of the door.

Warren’s expression twisted in alarm. "Desiree? What’s going on in there?!" he called out, rushing to the door and rattling the knob.

It didn’t budge. Locked.

"This is all my fault…" Desiree’s words were choked by sobs. "I’m sorry... I’m so sorry… I ruined everything… I crossed the line, and now... now I’ll make it right... in the only way I can."

Warren pounded on the wood with both fists. "Des! Open the door!"

Monica lunged forward as well, her voice panicked. "Sweetheart, please! Don’t do anything foolish! Open this door right now!"

"I never meant to hurt anyone," Desiree whimpered from inside. "I only wanted him to see me… I just wanted to matter. And now you all hate me. Don’t worry, Vienna, you’ll never have to deal with me again."

"Desiree," I called out firmly, stepping forward despite the ache in my injured leg. "No one wants you to

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 112 - Close Call

Warren’s POVI rushed Desiree into the resort’s clinic. Her soaked robe clung to her trembling frame as I carried her in my arms. The moment we stepped through the doors, I called out."She’s bleeding! Her wrist!" I barked, my voice raw with urgency.A nurse quickly wheeled over a gurney while another adjusted an oxygen mask over her face."Emergency case! Possible wrist laceration!" they called out."Get her to Bay 3, now!"They wheeled her off and disappeared behind the curtain to the emergency room. I tried to follow, but a nurse held up her hand, barring me."I’m sorry, sir. You’ll need to wait outside.""But I—" I started, then stopped. What good would arguing do? I stood there, helpless, watching them swarm around her through the narrow glass window.I staggered to the wall and slumped against it. Breathless, drenched, and shaken to the core. The hallway around me buzzed faintly with voices and intercoms, but all I could hear was my own guilt pounding in my ears. What the hell ju

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 111 - Mud-Stained & Moving On

Vienna’s POVMonica suddenly erupted into sobs, her body shaking as she buried her face in her hands. "My daughter—my baby girl—look what you’ve done to her!" she wailed. Her cries drowned out whatever Elliot had been about to say, cutting him off mid-breath.I turned toward him, frowning. There was a strange look on his face: genuine confusion. His brow was furrowed, his mouth slightly agape as if trying to place a memory that simply wasn’t there.I blinked, my thoughts spiraling. He looks so sincere… Is it possible I was wrong? Before I could piece anything together, Monica’s demeanor shifted. She pointed a trembling, accusatory finger at me."I always knew you were ungrateful," she hissed, voice venomous now. "A girl raised in some orphanage, taught nothing about loyalty or family. How dare you come into our lives and sow this kind of poison?"My stomach clenched, rage and disbelief surging through me in equal measure."Excuse me?" I snapped, stepping forward. "You’re seriously goi

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 110 - The End of Us

Vienna’s POV"I never said that," I snapped, my voice trembling more from disbelief than rage. "I never said I wanted you to disappear. Or that you ruined my marriage. Or that I hated you. I’m not that cruel."Desiree lay curled in the tub like a porcelain doll left out in the rain. Her gaze locked onto mine—haunted, glassy, and yet somehow deliberate."You’re lying…" she whispered, her voice frail but cutting. "You always hated me. You just never had the guts to say it out loud."I opened my mouth, but the words caught in my throat. Because the truth was—somewhere deep inside—I had thought those things. Maybe not in so many words, but I had thought them. I had resented her. Feared her. Wanted her gone. But this? This wasn’t what I wanted."Desiree," I said more softly now, stepping forward despite the tension in the room. "I was angry. I was hurt. You crossed lines I didn’t know how to respond to. But I never wanted this. I never wanted you to… do this to yourself."A bitter smile tu

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 109 - Bathed in Blame

Vienna’s POVWe all stood frozen in the doorway. Horror washed over us in waves as our eyes locked onto Desiree. Her soaked robe clung to her body. Soft whimpers escaped her lips, barely audible over Monica’s whailing.Warren, pale and wide-eyed, stood like a statue for a split second before something snapped inside him."Desiree!" he barked, then he charged forward. His knee slammed against the ceramic edge of the tub with a sickening thud, but he didn’t flinch. "I’ve got you, it’s okay, I’ve got you—"He tried to tuck his arms under Desiree’s back and legs to lift her out, but she wouldn’t let him."No! Don’t touch me!" she shrieked, her body erupting into a frenzy of resistance. Her arms thrashed wildly, water splashing up the sides of the tub. "Don’t look at me!" she wailed, her voice cracking as she clawed at Warren’s arms. "Get away! Just leave me alone!"Warren grunted in pain as her nails sliced through the skin on his forearm, red streaks appearing beneath her manicured finger

Vienna’s POVElliot stepped forward. His brow furrowed in concern as Fred subtly gestured toward me, still holding onto my arm for support."Vienna," Elliot asked gently, "are you alright? What happened?"I opened my mouth to respond, but Monica’s voice cut in like a blade."Well, excuse me," she said, turning to Fred with a condescending tilt of her head. "Who are you, exactly? And why are you clinging to my daughter-in-law like some tragic hero?"Fred straightened, not letting go of my arm. "Fred McAllister," he said calmly. "Vienna’s boss, and friend.""Friend?" Warren snorted with bitter sarcasm. "Don’t be modest, Fred. You mean Vienna’s lover."The words hung in the air like smoke after a gunshot.Fred’s jaw flexed, but he stayed composed. I tightened my grip on his sleeve, willing myself to stay calm."Warren," I said sharply, "stop twisting things."But Warren was already turning to his parents, gesturing toward us wildly like a courtroom prosecutor. "There, see for yourselves!"
