Vienna’s POV

After tightening the final lug nut with a satisfying click, Warren rose to his feet in one fluid motion. “There,” he said, brushing his palms off on his jeans with an air of finality.

He gave the newly secured tire a sharp kick with the heel of his boot, testing its hold. The car barely budged.

Satisfied, he stepped back and took a moment to admire his own handiwork. His arms were crossed, chest slightly puffed like a man who’d just won an unspoken contest.

Then he turned to Fred, one brow lifted high in smug triumph. “Take a good look,” he said, his voice smooth, laced with condescension. “This is how you change a tire.”

Fred scratched the back of his neck, his smile tight. “Yeah, well… I never claimed to be Mr. Auto Shop,” he muttered with an awkward chuckle. “I’m more of a pen-and-paper kinda guy.”

Warren gave a short huff that was somewhere between amusement and disdain. But instead of twisting the knife further, his tone shifted—disarmingly casual, almost teasing. L

Vienna’s POVWarren’s hand shot out instinctively, pressing gently but firmly against my waist in a protective gesture. "What the hell—?" he muttered under his breath, eyes locked on the stranger in the foyer.Desiree spun around the second she heard our footsteps. Her face, usually composed and elegant, was now pale and tight with fear."Oh, thank God, Warren. You’re here." Her voice cracked as she spoke, betraying just how terrified she was. Who the hell was this guy?The man turned to face us. Tattoos snaked up both his arms, crawling over veins that pulsed with tension. A jagged scar ran from his cheekbone to the edge of his jaw. But scarier than the ink or the scar was the expression in his eyes—dark, unhinged, filled with repressed rage.Warren didn’t hesitate. He stepped directly in front of me, shielding me from view with his entire body. His voice was low and sharp, like a blade unsheathing. "You’ve got five seconds to explain who you are and what the hell you’re doing here

Vienna’s POV"You’re not a mess," Noah said gently, his voice softer than I’d ever heard it. "You’re just… human."Bella let out a weak laugh, but there was no humor in it. "Some human. I feel like a bad soap opera character."I watched as Noah leaned a little closer, elbows on the table, eyes on her face. There was something unspoken there—concern, yes. But also something warmer. Fonder. A kind of hesitant hope."You’re so much better than this," he said, almost under his breath. "Better than him. And definitely better than her."Bella blinked at him, surprised. "You think so?"He smirked. "I call it like I see it. I mean, James must have absolutely no standards if that’s what he went for."He shook his head with open disgust. "Trash attracts trash, I guess."There was a beat of silence. Bella sank deeper into the booth, still holding the handkerchief like it was an anchor. I could feel the tension shift, something warm but delicate building in the air. I glanced between them. Noah l

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 72 - Crying in a Corner

Vienna’s POVBella stood frozen, still staring at the doors James and his mistress had disappeared through. Her chest rose and fell in sharp bursts, as if she was holding back something heavier than tears.I stepped beside her and gently wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Oh, Bella…" I whispered, pulling her close. "What an absolute idiot."That was all it took. Her breath hitched, and she let out a shaky sob. Then she buried her head in my shoulder and broke down completely, her arms clinging to me like she was trying not to fall apart.Behind us, Warren and Noah lingered, visibly unsure of what to do."I, uh…" Noah cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "Hey, Warren, come with me—I’ve got some people I want you to meet."Warren looked at me for confirmation, his gaze questioning, as if asking if I’d be okay without him. I nodded softly."Go," I mouthed. "I’ve got her."He gave me a gentle smile and reached out to pat my back. "You’re amazing," he murmured under his br

Vienna’s POVThe woman struggled hard, yanking against Warren’s grip like a furious cat caught by the scruff."Let go of me, you bastard!" she shrieked, twisting her arm. "This woman assaulted me! Did you all see that? That was assault!"I stood firm, chin lifted as she pointed a trembling finger at me."No," Warren said coldly, his voice razor-sharp and cutting through the tension like a knife. His eyes were locked on hers, unmoving. "What you did was assault Bella’s dignity. Be glad it was only wine and not her fist."A hush fell over the crowd. The bar, once buzzing with drunken laughter and clinking glasses, now held its collective breath. The woman’s mouth flopped open. "Ow! He pinched me!" she cried dramatically, glancing around for sympathy as she waved her arm. "He’s hurting me!"Warren finally let go—so abruptly that she stumbled back a step, catching herself on a nearby table. He didn’t even glance at her.His eyes were on me."Are you okay?" he asked, stepping close. His voi

Vienna’s POVThe three of us quickened our pace, weaving through the growing crowd as the noise swelled ahead. A mix of shouts, laughter, and gasps rippled through the onlookers.I stood on my tiptoes, trying to see past the wall of bodies. My heart skipped when I finally caught a glimpse of flailing limbs—and then the unmistakable sight of Bella. Her eyes were glassy with rage, fingers knotted tightly in another woman’s hair.“Bella?” I blurted, stunned. Her knuckles were white from the grip, her lips moving fast in furious words I couldn’t make out over the crowd’s reactions.“No ways,” Noah murmured beside me, his voice laced with disbelief. “What the hell did that chick do to set her off?”Warren reached out as I instinctively lunged forward, placing a steady hand on my shoulder.“Hold on,” he said firmly, though his tone was gentle. “Give her a second. Bella’s fierce—she can handle herself.”“But she’s clearly not okay,” I protested, trying to push past him.Warren’s hand didn’t

Vienna’s POV“I don’t know,” I said softly, my gaze fixed on the blur of streetlights outside the window. “It just feels like I have a target on my back lately. The piping bag incident, the tire… I don’t know if it’s all just coincidence anymore.”Warren glanced at me, his brow creasing as he kept one hand on the wheel. “You’ve been going through a lot lately, huh?”I let out a dry laugh. “You could say that.”He didn’t press for details. But even that small acknowledgment—his noticing, his concern—hit me harder than I expected. He had no idea what I was carrying. Without warning, he suddenly pulled the car over to the side of the road. I turned to him, confused. “What are you doing?”He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a small velvet box, his expression unreadable.“I meant to give this to you a while ago,” he said quietly, thumbing the edge of the box. “But... things between us were too messy. Too tense. There never seemed to be
