Vienna’s POV

Another school week dawned, with the scent of autumn in the Paris air. But instead of nerves buzzing in my stomach, I felt light now. Energized.

I was finally starting to feel like I belonged. Le Cordon Bleu had already taught me so much.

Zanele and I strolled side by side through the courtyard toward our next class, her colorful scarf fluttering behind her.

Just as we turned the corner leading to our classroom, the air seemed to shift. "Well, well. Look who it is," came a cold voice.

Laurent.

He and Chloé were leaning against the wall. Laurent smirked, arms crossed.

"Bonjour, ladies," he drawled. "Excited for another week of impressing the professors, hmm?"

I glanced at Zanele, then kept walking. "Excuse us," I said calmly.

But Chloé stepped directly in front of me, fake-pouting. "You know, Vienna, it’s not really fair to the rest of us, is it?" Her eyes flicked to Laurent. "Some of us are trying to earn our grades the normal way."

Zanele’s brows furrowed. "What’s that

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 164 - A Breath Apart

Raphaël’s POVVienna’s deep blue eyes locked onto mine, driving me mad with desire. I could see the hesitancy flickering in them, the uncertainty at war with something else. Passion. Need. Her cheeks were flushed pink from the cold, and the heat between us. The one we’d both been pretending not to feel.Mon Dieu, I’d wanted this woman from the moment I watched her enter La Praline. Her effortless elegance, that fire in her eyes. The delicate curve of her lips as she savored her first Parisian breakfast. Now, here she was—shivering beside me under this archway, so close I could almost feel her heartbeat. Her full, perfect lips parted slightly. A breath escaped her, soft and steamy in the icy air. She smelled like a dream.I moved closer. Slowly. Carefully. Until my face was inches from hers. She tilted her head up. Closed her eyes.Oh oui… She wants this.My heart thundered in my chest as I leaned in, my breath mingling with hers. But just before my lips could melt into hers, she pull

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 163 - Pencil, Paper, Pulse

Vienna’s POV"I think it’s time to open presents!" Zanele chimed after we finished breakfast. Her voice was extra bright, clearly trying to shift the mood.I offered a weak smile, grateful for the distraction. We gathered around the tree. Its lights twinkled like tiny stars as we settled into the cushions and couches."Alright," Harold grinned, rubbing his hands together. "Let’s see who’s been naughty or nice."After handing out a few of my gifts, Fred handed me a flat, heavy parcel. "This one’s from me. Merry Christmas, V."I opened it slowly—paper rustling—revealing an out-of-print French baking book. The cover was faded but elegant. The kind of book that held generations of secrets. Next was Harold. Inside a small velvet box lay a delicate silver bracelet, engraved with the McAllister family emblem. "To remind you that you're not alone anymore," he said, eyes crinkling.Tears pricked my eyes. "Thank you, Dad. It’s beautiful."Zanele’s gift came wrapped in patterned cloth. "This,"

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 162 - Festive Fallout

Vienna’s POVNoah’s brows shot up in disbelief. "What? No! Of course not. Why would you even think that?"I met his eyes, trying to keep my voice calm, but the edge crept in anyway. "Because Warren called me. Just now. From what sounded like… an airport."Zanele froze mid-bite. Harold looked between us. Bella’s eyes widened."Wait. You actually think I told him?" Noah leaned forward, his tone defensive. "You think I would do that to you? Seriously?""You’ve been acting weird all week," I shot back. "You keep bringing him up like you're trying to make me feel guilty. I don’t know what to believe anymore.""I’ve been weird?" he echoed, incredulous. "I’ve been worried about him, Vienna. That’s what friends do. That doesn’t mean I’m secretly feeding intel to your ex."I folded my arms. "Are you sure about that? Because I remember very clearly that you didn’t give a damn about your own hotel’s privacy rules when you gave him my room number.""That was different!" he snapped, color rising in

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 161 - Christmas Ghosts

Vienna’s POVOn Christmas morning, I woke up to the soft rhythm of Zanele snoring beside me. Her staying over had basically become a habit these past months. I couldn’t blame her—my queen-sized bed was a world away from the cardboard-thin single mattress in her dorm room."Merry Christmas, Zee," I whispered, smiling at how peaceful and innocent she looked in her sleep. I slipped out of bed and padded to the closet, picking out a festive burgundy dress that hugged my bump in all the right places. Almost seven months pregnant now—and it showed. I turned sideways in the mirror and raised my brows at the silhouette. "Getting huge, little one," I whispered to my belly. The smell of freshly baked pastries greeted me before I even stepped into the kitchen. Raphaël was already there, in one of his over-the-top Christmas sweaters. Today’s had dancing reindeer with blinking LED noses. He stood at the counter arranging a tray of his famed pain au chocolat, with other flaky, golden pastries b

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 160 - Unwrapping Regrets

Warren’s POVMy father and I sat at the long, empty dining table. Just the two of us. A lone Christmas tree twinkled quietly in the corner.Charles brought out our desserts, setting our plates down gently before retreating to the kitchen. The silence between my father and me stretched long and heavy, thick with unspoken feelings. This Christmas wasn’t what either of us had hoped for. No Monica or Desiree to fill the void with their endless chatter. No Vienna sitting beside me in a dazzling dress, stealing my breath with just a smile.I glanced across the table. My father stared into his dessert like he might find answers in the swirl of whipped cream. I cleared my throat."I, uh… I found out something," I said slowly. "About Vienna. A little while ago."His eyes lifted to meet mine, cautious. "What is it?""She’s… pregnant."He nearly choked on his spoon. "Pregnant?!"I nodded, not trusting myself to say more right away.He blinked. "You mean… you’re going to be a father?"I hesitate

  • Regretful Heart: CEO's Tears Over Her Pregnancy   Chapter 159 - Déjà Vu Dinner

Vienna’s POV"He got here just in time," the doctor said finally, her voice calm but firm. "It was a close call, but he’s stable now. He suffered a mild cardiac arrest. He was lucky."Fred and I exhaled in unison, the weight of dread lifting just slightly."Can we see him?" I asked. She nodded. "One at a time."Fred gestured to me. "You go first.""You sure?""Yeah." He sat back down with a tired shrug. "I’ll pull myself together first."I squeezed his shoulder and followed the doctor through the quiet hallway. When we reached my father’s room, she opened the door for me, then stepped back to give us privacy.Harold lay still in the hospital bed, a tangle of tubes and wires connecting him to beeping machines. He looked smaller somehow, vulnerable in the thin gown, his skin pale against the white sheets. His eyes fluttered open at the sound of the door. "Vienna," he said hoarsely, managing a faint smile."Dad," I whispered, rushing to his side. I took his large hand carefully in mine,
