Chapter Sixty Two – The Challenge of the Alpha

Nora’s POV

The morning was heavy with tension. The air in the great hall felt thick, almost like it was holding its breath. I stood quietly near the wall, my hands gripping the edge of the chair, trying to make myself as small as possible. My heart was racing faster than I wanted to admit.

One by one, families arrived, their faces serious, their eyes sharp. The elders walked in, tall and commanding, the weight of authority in every step. I could feel their eyes sweeping the room, judging, waiting, weighing. My stomach churned.

And then I saw him. Lucien. Axel’s older half-brother. My chest tightened, and I could feel the tension radiating off him like heat. He walked in with a calm confidence, but it wasn’t friendly. His gaze found Axel immediately, and I could see the smirk forming on his face.

The elders took their seats. Families gathered, whispering among themselves. I could hear murmurs of worry and speculation. Axel stood beside me,

Chapter Sixty Four – Selene’s PlanAxel’s PovI was moving through the training yard, my muscles burning with each strike. The sun was high, but sweat didn’t matter. I had to stay sharp. The pack was tense. The elders were whispering, the families were arriving, and Lucien… my half-brother… his shadow was looming over everything.A voice broke my rhythm.“Axel.”I turned to see Selene stepping closer, holding a water flask. She walked with that calm, slow confidence of hers, the smile on her lips carefully measured.“You’re working too hard,” she said lightly, offering the water. “You don’t need to train like this.”I raised an eyebrow, accepting the flask but not drinking. “And why would you care?” I said, keeping my tone neutral. I knew her too well. Selene’s words always had a hidden edge, a plan behind them. Her eyes flicked to mine, sharp and knowing. “Because I can help you. I know how to get rid of your half-brother for you.”For a moment, I froze mid-step. The words hung in t

  • Rejected And Reborn   The Calm Before the Storm

Chapter Sixty Three – The Calm Before the StormI sat close to Axel on the veranda, my hands shaking as I watched him. The sky was turning orange and pink with the setting sun. Everything was quiet around the pack. There were no sounds of people talking, no laughter. Only the wind moved through the trees. My heart was beating fast. I could feel the tension in the air.Axel looked serious. His eyes were focused, and he moved with purpose, checking his weapons and his strength. But I could see it in his eyes. He was worried. I could see the worry and the weight he carried. My chest hurt just looking at him. I wanted to make the danger go away. I wanted to make everything safe for him.I reached for his hand. My fingers were shaking. “Axel… I’m scared,” I said quietly. Tears ran down my face. “What if the rogue… what if Lucien… what if something bad happens to you?”I pressed my face against his shoulder. My body was trembling. I felt cold even though the evening air was warm. I didn’t w

Chapter Sixty One : One Problem To AnotherNora’s POVThe room was quiet, but my heart wasn’t. It beat too fast, like it wanted to break free from my chest. Axel had carried me back, step by step, refusing to put me down even when I asked him to. His arms had felt safe, but my mind was not safe. My mind was loud, full of all the things Selene had said, all the insults his parents threw at me, and now… the man we had just seen.I sat on the edge of the bed, holding my knees close to my chest. Axel closed the door and stood there, his face dark, his jaw hard. For a while, he didn’t move. He didn’t say a word. The silence between us was heavy, heavier than the pain in my body. Finally, I looked up at him and asked, my voice breaking, “Axel… who was that man?”His eyes met mine, sharp, but also sad. He dragged a hand through his hair before answering slowly. “That’s my brother,” he said. “My father had him with another woman… before he married my mother.”I blinked, trying to take it in.

  • Rejected And Reborn   The Brother’s Challenge

Chapter Sixty -Axel’s POV – The Brother’s ChallengeMy steps were heavy as I entered the house, carrying Nora on my back. Her arms were loose around my shoulders, her breath soft and uneven against my neck. She was exhausted. Her body felt fragile, and I hated that she had gone through so much pain because of me, because of this family.I swallowed hard as I pushed the door open. The place was silent, too silent, and my wolf was already restless inside me. I had been afraid of this moment—not of fighting, not of pain, but of the way my parents and Selene treated Nora. Would they sneer again? Would they insult her and push her away while she was already broken? But the silence was broken by a voice I hadn’t expected.“Well, well.”I froze in the doorway. My whole body went cold.He was standing there. My brother. The last person I thought I would see tonight. He leaned against the wall like he had been waiting for me, his arms folded, a smirk playing on his lips. He looked older than

Chapter Fifty Nine – The Homecoming Nora’s PovI carried her carefully, feeling the weight of Nora in my arms. She was small, fragile, and exhausted, but I could feel the tension in her muscles, the way her fingers clutched my shirt as if holding on for life. Every step I took toward the house made my chest tighten. I was scared, not for myself, but for her. I knew what awaited us inside. My parents. Selene. Their cruel eyes, sharp tongues, and icy smiles. And now… who else might be waiting? Her hair smelled faintly of pine and earth, damp from the forest. I inhaled it instinctively, letting it calm me just a little. “Almost home,” I whispered, my voice low and rough. “I won’t let them touch you. I promise.”She stirred slightly, mumbling against my shoulder. “Axel…” she breathed. I pressed my forehead to hers. “Shh. Don’t talk now. Just rest. I’ve got you.”The path to the house felt endless. Moonlight barely lit the way, but I could see the silhouette of the building ahead. Its win
