Camilla's POV

"I have to say, you really impressed me last night, Camilla. I'm proud of you." Jace shook my hand and we both stood up.

We were now back at the pack, in his office. Last night had been hectic...from piling loads of assorted meat, weapons, and herbs of different kinds into the back of the truck, to answering every single one of his questions.

"Today is the third day, and tonight we will visit the woods. I'll teach you how to spot rogues and tackle them. You don’t have to fight with your strength; fighting with tactics and wisdom is much more effective. You can distract them, or even make them fight one another while you walk away unscathed," Beta Jace said, locking eyes with me as he spoke.

"Since it’s afternoon, you’re free to return to your room and do whatever you wish until evening. Don’t make me have to call for you before you arrive here." He reminded me, and I nodded quickly.

"Sure," I mumbled as I turned to leave. I was still wearing that tight gown he had given

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   Signs Of Belonging

Camilla's POVAs soon as I entered the clubhouse, my eyes fell on the least expected person to see here. He was dancing and having fun with three unfamiliar faces.Jace?I'd earlier assumed he'd gone on a mission trip, but that wasn't the case. I spotted the number of bottles of Heineken on his table and then his face. He was damn drunk. He saw me but didn't even pause to take another look. Sane Jace would do that.I found an empty seat and gently pulled back the chair, sat down, and focused on Jace. I pulled out my phone and recorded a short video to show him when he would have been sane. The bartenders began to approach, and I quickly checked my wallet. It was damn empty. I checked my bank account balance, but the amount left wouldn't even get me a bottle of Heineken. Just as the bartender reached me, two guards marched towards me as well.I turned to them instead, ready to discuss with them and find a way out of here without feeling embarrassed."The Lycan King has called you to be

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   The Voice That Couldn’t Be Heard

Camilla's POV"It was a bright white light intensified on my forehead. Can you feel the gold sparks there?" Jace's fingers rubbed on the centre of my forehead as I explained my experience to him.He gave a slow nod. "Perhaps the goddess truly answered your prayers. I don't know what it means, but it could be a protection from the dark side of your second chance mate.""Are you trying to say the goddess is aware of the cause of the deaths of Amelia and Olivia?""Of course, she is. She doesn't answer every question, though, but you can give it a try," Jace replied. "How did you even know she was going to show up? Did you see her face?""I don't even know what her face looks like. And no, I didn't see the woman's face. The bright white light covered her face, and she vanished as soon as the light did," I answered, remembering how exactly and suddenly it happened."Are you sure it's the moon goddess?" Jace suddenly asked, and my heart skipped a beat.I scoffed. "Who else would come around

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   Gold on My Forehead

Camilla's POV "Why would you forsake me now, goddess? Can't you see how diligent I was in Damon's pack? Can't you see how innocent I am? I'm being accused falsely, but you're up there, as quiet as a graveyard." My eyes remained closed as I uttered the words to the goddess, believing she was listening to me from wherever she was in the skies. The leaves rustled as my eyes opened wide. I quickly stood up, dusting the dried leaves off my clothes, my eyes falling on a silhouette."Who's that?" I asked, glancing in every direction to determine the best escape route. My heart began to race as I watched closely who was coming. The silhouette moved so stealthily that I was close to assuming no one was there anymore. And then a woman suddenly showed up at a close distance to me, eliciting a loud scream from my lips. My eyes widened in shock as my heart skipped several beats. But weirdly, I couldn't run, neither could I say a word until the woman said the first word."Aurelia, Aurelia, Aurelia

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   The Night I Ran

Camilla's POV"Our master sent us to pick up one of us. We came to get him. We truly didn't come to attack anyone, but since they confronted us, we had to," the rogue confessed."Who is the master? Who is the other rogue you came to pick up?" Jace questioned, his voice rising in anger."The other rogue I came to pick up is the same man who was dragged out of the pack," the rogue said, and Jace's eyes met mine. He stood up and cracked his knuckles, laughing softly together with Cassian."You were right, Jace. Her father is here for a purpose. Definitely. She must have recognized his face when you said she saved him from the rogues in the woods during the mission. Little Camilla is nothing but a stupid liar," Cassian diverted."And how about your master? Who is he?" Jace pressed."I can't reveal his name or identity," the rogue boldly said as Jace handed him to the guards with an instruction."Take him to the torture center and make sure he begs to be killed instead," Jace ordered. "We

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   Dawn At Betrayal

Camilla's POV"I couldn't think of anyone else, Dad. Jace looked me in the eye and insulted me. It's never happened. He's never been in support of Cassian's cruelty. I think I'm just gonna commit a crime to deserve this cellroom," I explained.Immediately after Jace walked away, I realized that there was no one else to talk to but my father. Kate and Avery were gone. Jace and Cassian were mad at me for being the negative one.A tear rolled down my chin as Father patted my back, his voice teary. "Don't be worried anymore, Camilla. We are together now. Just close your eyes and sleep.""The wardens would be here pretty soon to kick me out. It took a long time to convince them to let me in. They wouldn't let me stay with you for the night, would they?" I whispered, still in his arms as we sat on the cold ground of the cellroom."Just don't be worried. I know how to handle this," Father assured. I could only give a nod. He's more experienced, having lived in captivity for more than a decad

  • Rejected By Alpha, Marked By The Cursed Lycan King   Let the Dead Rest

Camilla's POV“This is a very similar death occurrence. You should ask your men to conduct a thorough investigation on this,” I answered Jace. This wasn’t normal. Kate and Avery must have been killed by the same person.“I know it is,” Jace replied. The image of the blood traces on the spot where Avery was last seen must still be haunting him. “But the Lycan wouldn’t want to be involved in this. He’s supposed to bring cases like this to me, not the other way around.”“That’s understandable, but this situation is urgent. You’ve got to tell him now. He’s got to know a thing or two about this. It’s unusual and sudden.” I stepped closer, my gaze locking on his. My confidence had definitely grown. He shrugged an arm as we headed to the Lycan’s room, reminding me of the task of cleaning up his room that he instructed me to do, but I stepped out instead. Anyone would. How could your maid die and the prime suspect is sitting on the bed with a smile, asking you to stay in the room for a little
