Timothy's POV

The territorial finals are playing on my TV.

I should turn it off. Should focus on literally anything else. Instead, I'm glued to the screen, watching Penelope lead Bloodfang to victory.

"Are you seriously watching this?" Sophia asks, standing in the doorway with her arms crossed. "Your rival pack?"

"Know your enemy," I reply, the excuse weak even to my own ears. "Strategy."

"Strategy," she repeats, laughing without humor. "Right."

On screen, Penelope dodges a brutal check, spins away from the defender, and maintains possession. The announcers are gushing about her skill.

"The Golden Omega strikes again! Penelope Hale is absolutely dominant tonight!"

"She's showing off," Sophia says flatly, moving to block my view. "Can we do something else? Anything else?"

"In a minute," I mutter, leaning to see around her.

She snatches the remote and pauses the game. "No. Now. I'm tired of competing with a ghost."

"She's not a ghost," I snap, the words coming out sharper than intended.

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 117 - Difficult Conversations

Timothy's POVI wake up to find Penelope asleep in the chair beside my bed. Her head is tilted at an angle that's going to give her a serious neck ache. One hand rests on the mattress near mine. Close but not touching. The afternoon light makes her hair glow. I've spent months avoiding looking at her directly. Telling myself she wasn't worth noticing, what a fucking idiot I was."You're staring." Penelope doesn't open her eyes."You're awake." I try to sit up straighter but the movement pulls at my IV."Hard to sleep with you breathing so loud." She opens her eyes and stretches. "You sound like a broken vacuum cleaner.""Romantic." I manage a weak smile. "Really setting the mood here.""Who said anything about romance?" Penelope stands up and checks the monitor beside my bed. "Your heart rate is elevated. Should I call Dr. Reeves?""It's elevated because you're close." The words come out before I can stop them. "Kael gets excited."Penelope's cheeks turn pink. She steps back from the

Penelope Pov"He's already paying." I pick up my coffee, turning to face them. "He's literally dying because of what he did. How much more payment do you want?""Justice," Ryder says, his eyes flashing. "Real consequences for his actions.""He testified against his father," I say, ticking off points on my fingers. "He destroyed his relationship with his pack, lost his inheritance, and he's dying from bond rejection. What more do you want from him?""Suffering," Drake says, his voice cold and unforgiving. "We want him to suffer the way Sophia suffered.""Then you're going to be disappointed." I start walking back to Timothy's room. "Because I'm not going to let him die just to satisfy your revenge fantasy.""You can't protect him forever," Kane calls after me. "Eventually, he'll have to face what he did.""He's already facing it," I say without turning around. "Every day, every moment. Trust me, Timothy Blackthorn is suffering plenty."I make it back to Timothy's room before my hands s

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 115: The Rage

Penelope's POVThe Wintermoon brothers are waiting in the hallway when I finally leave Timothy's room to get coffee. All three of them—Kane leaning against the wall with deceptive casualness, Drake pacing like a caged animal, and Ryder sitting in one of the waiting room chairs looking bored.I consider turning around and going back to Timothy's room, but I need caffeine and a bathroom break. I'm not going to let three overgrown wolves intimidate me into hiding."Miss Hale." Kane straightens up when he sees me. "Can we talk?""About?" I don't stop walking toward the coffee machine at the end of the hall."About our sister," Kane says, falling into step beside me. "And your intentions regarding Timothy Blackthorn.""My intentions are keeping him alive." I punch the button for black coffee. "That's it.""Really?" Drake appears on my other side, boxing me in. "Because from where we're standing, it looks like you're trying to steal our sister's husband.""Your sister's husband rejected me

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 114:The Apology

Penelope's POV"Rejecting you was the worst thing I've ever done." His voice cracks slightly, raw with emotion. "Every day since then has been torture. Not just because of the bond damage, but because I knew what I threw away. I knew I chose wrong and couldn't figure out how to fix it.""So you married Sophia instead," I say, unable to keep the bitterness from seeping into my words."My father arranged it." Timothy finally looks at me again, and the pain in his eyes is almost enough to make me regret pushing. Almost.I lean forward, needing him to understand. "You think that makes it better? Watching you with her?""I know it doesn't." Timothy closes his eyes. "I thought I was doing the right thing at the time, but I was just being a coward.""Yeah," I say softly, swallowing against the tightness in my throat. "You were.""I don't know if I can forgive you." The words come out quietly, but they feel important to say. "Not right now. Maybe not ever.""I understand." Timothy's voice is

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 113: First Contact

Penelope's POVI wake up to the sound of a camera shutter clicking. My eyes snap open to find Ethan standing in the doorway, phone raised, grinning like he's just discovered buried treasure."Delete that," I say, trying to sit up before the full reality of my situation hits me. I'm still in Timothy's hospital bed, our hands intertwined, and at some point during the night I'd shifted position so my head rests on his shoulder. His other arm has found its way around me, holding me close even in sleep."Oh, this is perfect," Ethan says, taking another photo with obvious delight. "Wait until Selene sees this.""Delete them now or I will break your phone." I carefully extract myself from Timothy's arms, trying not to disturb him. "And possibly your face."Ethan pockets his phone with a laugh. "Violent. I like it. Timothy needs someone who can kick his ass.""I'm not here to kick his ass." I climb out of the bed, noting with relief that my back feels significantly better after a night of act

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 112:The Confrontation

Timothy pov The words hit me. Because she's right. I have been flinching. Every time she touches me, every time she tries to be close. Because all I can think about is Penelope."I'm sorry." I force the words out. "Sophia, I'm so sorry. You deserved better than what I gave you.""Yes, I did." Sophia's voice cracks. "But we're both stuck with the choices we made. So now what?""Now we fix it." Selene speaks up. "The dissolution paperwork is almost done. Once it's finalized, you're both free. You can find someone who actually wants you, Sophia. And Timothy can focus on not dying.""And her?" Ryder nods at Penelope. "What happens with his true mate?""That's between them." Selene looks at me. "But right now, the priority is keeping Timothy alive. Everything else can wait."Kane studies Penelope for another moment. Then he nods. "Fine. She stays. But Sophia stays too. In the waiting room. Until the paperwork is done and this marriage is officially over.""I can accept that." Penelope sit
