I coughed loudly and staggered to my feet, clenching my jaw.

The servant girl turned up her lips in a smirk before trotting away.

I was filled with anger as I watched her sway away.

What is wrong with her? Did Elena tell her to do this?

I doubt that Elena will ever want to have anything to do with Xander again.

Is she doing this to win favor in the sight of the Alpha?

I scoffed at the thought and walked out of the garden, heading to the healer’s place.

I didn’t bother knocking before I pushed the wooden door open.

A woman looked up and upon seeing me, threw a blanket around her body to cover her nakedness.

Lavender turned and stared confusedly at me.

“What are you doing here unannounced, Beta?” she muttered and dropped the bottle of medicine in her hand.

“Get out!” I turned and snapped at the woman she was tending to.

The two women exchanged shocked glances at my outburst and rude behavior.
