Roland's Pov

A loud, urgent knock at the door shattered the peaceful moment I was sharing with Mira. It was as if a crisis had erupted out of nowhere, demanding immediate attention. Mira's eyes widened in alarm, mirroring my own sense of unease. We both sprang out of bed, our movements tense and furtive, as though we were fugitives suddenly under pursuit.
