I hadn’t been back to this city in years.

It always brought back bad memories and heartaches that I preferred to keep buried. Besides, I had a company in another city, it was the perfect excuse to stay away.

However, business brought me back. I tried to brush it off, tried to handle it online, but unfortunately, I had a very stubborn client. The plan was to come in and go out within two days without seeing anyone. My jet was prepped to fly tomorrow, and for once, I thought I’d make it out unscathed, that was until I saw her.
