INICIAR SESIÓNThe air in the forest was heavy.
Leaves danced silently in the breeze that marked the coming of night, and the wolves of the pack were already gathering around the sacred clearing. The full moon began to rise in the sky, its silver glow reflecting off fur and alert eyes. Everything was ready. Everything was under Kael’s control. The alpha watched from above, standing on one of the stone steps that led to the blessing altar. His golden eyes swept the area with rigid precision. Not a single candle had been forgotten, not a single ribbon tied carelessly. The Spring Ball was perfect. Just as it should be.
It was the first Spring Ball he celebrated as alpha. His father had passed the title to him the previous autumn, and now he would finally meet his mate, if the Moon Goddess willed it.
"Everything’s as you asked, Kael," one of his soldiers said, bowing respectfully.
"As I ordered, you mean," he replied coldly. "You can go. And get rid of that hideous arrangement at the entrance. Whoever tied those flowers with dry vines should be punished for aesthetic sabotage."
The soldier swallowed hard and rushed off. Kael sighed. He wasn’t nervous. That wasn’t the kind of man he was. Just... unsettled. Since morning, a strange feeling had clung to him. Camilla had spent the night in his arms, like so many times before, but something felt different. He had dreamed of his mother.
That wasn’t common.
His last memory of her was blood soaking her light blue dress. Pale skin, lifeless eyes. Her mouth still forming the word run. But he hadn’t run. He hadn’t had time.
Kael shook his head, forcing the thought away. That was the past. Now was the time of the blessing. Camilla was getting ready and would soon appear like the worthy she-wolf she was.
Strong. Beautiful.
The future Luna. The sound of the ceremonial horn filled the clearing, silencing the drums. The fire was lit at the center, and the elder began walking among the chosen, blessing them one by one. Kael remained still, hands behind his back, his gaze proud and unwavering.
And then... it happened.
A scent, delicious and familiar.Wild roses and mint.
Strong. Unmistakable. Piercing the air like an arrow. His eyes narrowed, his chest burned. His hands trembled almost imperceptibly. The moment had finally arrived. His mate... He looked around for Camilla. He was certain it was her.
Camilla was the best at everything. The strongest, most worthy female.
But it wasn’t Camilla standing there.No.
Kael turned his head slowly, following the invisible pull that burned through his veins.
And then he saw her.A young woman walked toward him, dressed in white, her gown simple. Wide eyes, her face glowing with a timid, hopeful smile.
An omega.
A... servant. For a second, everything froze. Kael felt the ground vanish beneath his feet.
And then the memory hit him like lightning, cruel and unavoidable.Blood.
Screams. The forest in flames. His mother on her knees, trying to shield his small body with her fragile arms. Renegades laughing. Claws tearing her flesh like paper. And him, screaming for help, begging the gods until his voice gave out. This had to be a joke. There was no other explanation.
"No..." he murmured, the word almost a growl.Lyra stopped a few steps from him, still smiling, confused.
"You... you’re my mate," she said, her voice trembling. She looked so happy. She really was. "The goddess united us..."She wasn’t the strongest, or the most noble, not even comparable to Camilla. But still, the goddess saw something in her strong enough to bind her to the alpha, granting her the title of Luna of the Dark Winds Pack.
Kael stepped back. Her scent surrounded him, burned into every cell of his body. The bond was real. It was there. But he refused to accept it. A humorless laugh curled his lips as he looked at the little omega before him with complete contempt.
Who did she think she was?
"This is a mistake," he growled, rage bubbling in his veins. "A cruel joke."
"N-no it’s not..." Lyra tried to move closer, but he raised his hand in a harsh gesture. "I... I felt it. I know you did too..."
"Shut up!" he shouted, making everyone nearby turn toward the scene.
They finally realized the alpha’s mate had been revealed, and out of all the she-wolves, she was the weakest.
Whispers spread among the guests. Far off, Camilla watched the scene with hatred in her eyes. Beside her, a soldier looked at her with love and sorrow. He was her mate, not the alpha, but willing to love her with all he had. It didn’t matter to Camilla.Silence fell.
The elder stopped her blessings. Petra, among the other girls, covered her mouth in horror.Kael stepped forward again, eyes locked on Lyra with disdain.
"An omega. Weak. Insignificant. You really think you have the right to be my mate? To be my Luna?""I didn’t choose this..." she whispered, eyes full of tears. "It was the goddess who…"
"The goddess would never curse me with such disgrace!" His voice was ice and fire. "You should’ve hidden your scent. You should’ve run from the clearing if you had a shred of shame!"
Lyra stood frozen. Her chest heaved. The bond between them pulsed violently, trying to complete itself, but Kael sliced through it like it was rotten chain.
"I, Kael, alpha of the Dark Winds Pack, reject you as my mate," he declared, without warning. The pain of rejection shot through his body, but it was nothing compared to Lyra’s.
She collapsed to her knees, groaning.
"Accept it!""No... Please don’t do this!" she begged, lifting her tearful gaze to the man who was supposed to be her great love. Her eternal mate. "The goddess united us. It was her…"
The forest wind hissed through twisted branches, and even with the filtered morning sunlight, the air felt heavy. Lyra pulled River’s cloak tighter around her. The fabric still carried his scent, earth, wood, and faintly, blood. In no man’s land, someone always seemed to be dying. The walk had been silent. For hours she followed him, deciding it was the best option. But as the forest thickened and the growls of renegades grew more frequent, her trust began to falter. Wouldn’t it be safer to slip into human lands? They would never find her there. Kael would never know… would he? That had to be better than being torn apart on the path to a lost pack.“You really think it’s safe to head for a place cursed by the Elders?” Her voice was steady, though it trembled at the end. “The stories about the Blood Moon Alpha are anything but comforting. They say he’s a beast, a monster who feeds on other wolves. And the thought that I might actually be following him doesn’t make me feel safe at all…”
But he didn’t reply. His attention snapped toward the cave entrance, his senses sharpening. A low, steady rumble vibrated through the stones, like distant thunder, but too even, too mechanical. River stiffened, every nerve on edge.“Stay here,” he ordered.“Wait... what? River!”But he was already running toward the mouth of the cave, his black hair the last thing she saw before she scrambled after him, confused by his sudden alertness. When she finally reached the entrance, gasping, her aching body protesting, she stumbled upon a scene almost absurd.River stood in the clearing, chest heaving, eyes locked on the sky, growls spilling from his throat as he turned in circles, ready to tear apart an invisible enemy. But there were no wolves. No renegades. Only the gray-blue sky, and a commercial plane cutting through the clouds, its heavy drone vibrating the air, flying a little lower than usual.“What the…?” Lyra blinked in disbelief. “An airplane?”River didn’t move. His eyes clung to t
The silence between them was as thick as the fog rising from the depths of the cave. Lyra sat wrapped in the cloak he had given her, eyes fixed on the dying embers of the fire. River moved quietly, precise, disciplined. He adjusted his worn, torn pants, barely holding together, gathered the remaining fruit in a dark cloth, and smothered the fire with cold dirt until no trace was left. It was as if he were preparing to disappear from the world, and take her with him. When he was done, he turned to her. “It’s time. We need to leave.”Lyra lifted her gaze slowly. Her face still carried distrust, and exhaustion weighed on her bones. “I’m not going with you,” she said firmly, though her voice was hoarse. “I don’t even know you.”River stepped closer, his eyes like ice shattering beneath the gray dawn filtering through the cave’s entrance. “If you want to live, you’ll have to stay with me.”“I didn’t ask for help.” “But you needed it.”Lyra didn’t answer. Her eyes narrowed as if she want
The only sound was the heavy silence, broken by the hot, monstrous breathing of that creature. He turned. His blood-red eyes flashed with pure fury, still full of the hate and disgust that had consumed every bone of the renegades who had dared touch what did not belong to them. There she was.Thrown across the cold cave stones, her small body trembling, bruised, filthy, stained with blood. Completely naked, pale skin marked with scratches, bruises and cuts, hair plastered to her face, smothered in mud and blood. What made him angrier than anything was the smell, the smell of many males on her.The smell of what they had done.A low growl escaped his throat as he stepped closer. With every step his instinct demanded blood, but there was no living thing left there to take his fury. Only pain, emptiness and shame remained. He shifted into human form without hurry, feeling his fangs slide back into human teeth, blood running down his bare torso, his eyes still feral. He dropped to his knee
She was waiting to die.Chapter 4: The Awakening of the SupremeShe was waiting to die. The growls grew closer, ripping through the night like thunder, and the omega had decided that waiting for her end was the best she could do. But she had already suffered so much… Did she not deserve at least a peaceful death? Hadn’t a shattered heart and a broken body been enough?Lyra tried to lift her head, but the weight of her own body crushed her against the cold, filthy forest floor. Every breath was a battle, every movement pure torment. The wolves were so close now… Terror gripped her mind, making her entire body tremble when she realized she didn’t want to die like this. Without thinking, only obeying the most primal instinct to survive, she forced herself to move. Her trembling, blood-soaked arms dug into the dirt. Her legs, deadened by pain, dragged uselessly behind her thin, exposed frame.“Just… a little more…” she whispered, her voice barely audible, as the metallic taste of blo
Trigger Warning: Sexual Abuse and Violence (Not explicit, but emotionally heavy)There was no hope left. The sound of the party had become nothing but a distant echo, fading lower and lower as Lyra was dragged to the dungeon. She had never been there before, why would she? It was meant for the worst criminals… but now she was being treated as one. No, worse than them, because her punishment was inhuman, cruel, vile. Any living being with a beating heart would know this was beyond wrong, an abomination. But these men seemed to have no hearts, no conscience. They weren’t even wild, because wildness is guided by instinct, and no creature on earth has an instinct as dark as the will that drove these wolves.Torchlight cast monstrous shadows on the dungeon walls, and when the iron doors slammed shut with a crash that reverberated in her bones, she knew. There was no goddess here, no justice. Only malice. Only cruelty. In that moment, Lyra closed her eyes and cried silently, begging the Mo
