ROSHIDA
If I’d known earlier that my mate would come back with a woman, I would have gone on my knees and begged my mother to make another choice. A little introduction before we get into it. My name is Roshida, the late Alpha's daughter and I'm wolfless. My mother arranged for me to marry a Beta three months ago. I'd married him without a second thought three months ago because she wanted me to. It was her dying wish and how could I say no to my mother? And I have always trusted her choice. I felt like that decision would make me closer to her after her death. I couldn't exactly say I'd married him because he didn't even attend the ceremony. He'd been called to fight some war and I had to stand there like a fool at the altar, saying my vows into thin air. I didn't know what was more pathetic between that and having to act like I was happy with everything. Now he came back from the battlefield not only with a promotion to be Alpha, but a woman he claimed to be his father mate. What a joke. It was a hot sunny afternoon in the middle of June when he casually strolled into the house. His mother had thrown a tantrum earlier and had forcefully made me carry her down the stairs to sit on the verandah. I'd called for the guards to do it but she said that guards couldn't touch her so only I could carry her. She was still recovering and hadn't fully regained full mobility. He walked straight to her, brushing past me as though I wasn't there. “My son!” They embraced each other tightly. He looked quite different from the last time I'd seen him but then again, war would do that to you. “I see you're doing well, mother. It's so good to see you this bright.” I was waiting for him to notice me or for his mother to say that I'd been taking care of her. But neither happened. “Mother, for my victory in the war, the Lycan King awarded me with medals and not just that. You're looking at the new Alpha of this pack!” His mother jumped out of her chair and hugged him. I couldn't believe my eyes. She'd sworn that she couldn't move her legs earlier and that's why I had to bring her down the stairs. But now… “Oh, I'm so happy for you, son.” He still hadn't looked at me. “Oh, not just that mother.” He turned around and faced the door. A young lady came in and he put his arm around her “Mum, this is Kelly. Kelly, this is my mother.” A petite young lady came out from behind Felix. I hadn't known that someone had even been standing there. Her facial features were the first thing I noticed. Long curly brown hair, moderately big eyes, rosy lips…she was a beauty. She didn't look like a fighter. She had a soft gaze and a pretty smile that she extended towards Felix's mother. Kelly smiled lightly and shook his mother's hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma'am.” I suddenly felt sick to my stomach. What the hell was going on? “We fought on the fields together. You should have seen her, mum. She was superb. You know, once I saw her in action, I knew there was something different about her and just like that, my wolf agrees with me. She's my mate, mum. She's the woman I've been waiting for.” The woman he's been waiting for? That bile that had been rising in my throat finally made it to my mouth and I had to push it back down. “What?!” His mother exclaimed “Your what?” Good! I was not the only one who found this insane. How could he bring some random woman back home from nowhere and calimnshes his mate? What was I supposed to do? Bow to her? “My mate, mother. Isn't she beautiful?” Beautiful? Well yeah, she is but- “She’s a delight to look at. You're welcome to my home.” She had to be kidding me. Did she hear what he had said? His mate? The fact that I was still standing there with no on even realizing my presence amazed me. He called a couple of guards, telling him to take her bags upstairs and help her settle into her room. My eyes met with her once and she gave me a smirk. What was that supposed to mean? As she walked past with the guards, she bumped her shoulder into mine, making me stumble a bit and I heard her giggle. The little bitch… When he was done speaking to the guards, I approached him carefully, wondering whether I should even say anything. Whether my words would even have an effect on him. When he turned around and saw me, he didn't even give me a second look before brushing past me and walking away. Maybe he didn't see me. “Wait, I want to speak to you.” He had stopped just a few feet away from me, and he was still backing me. He didn't have the same smile on his face as he had when he was talking about her. “What do you need? I'm busy.” That was it? “Congratulations on your victory. You really-” He finally turned around to face me. “What do you want?” Ouch. I took a deep breath with my heart beating quickly in my chest. Why? Shouldn't he be the one scared? “Before you left, we got married. Do you remember telling my mother that you would have just me as a mate? You told her that there will be no issues. Who's that's lady you brought home?” For the firsy time in my life, I felt like a wife asking her husband to explain. I hated the fact that I was having to ask for an explanation. He didn't even feel I needed one. He sighed and rolled his eyes. “Last I checked, I'm the man and as you said, I'm your husband so I don't explain myself to you. Besides, I'm sure you weren't deaf to everything I said.” Who on earth was this man and what had he done with the Felix I'd met a few months before? I held his hand back as he wanted to leave again and the look of disgust made me drop my hand. “Please, just tell me what's going on. I deserve that much.” He sighed heavily. “She is Kelly and she's my mate. If I'd known that I'd find her this soon after marrying you, I wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake. I couldn't deny my wolf what he wanted. He saw her and he said that she was our mate so I had to do something. She's everything I ever wanted. You knew we weren't mates so this shouldn't come as a surprise to you.” Could he hear himself speak? Our marriage was suddenly a mistake? She's now the woman of his dreams? “Listen, this might be a lot to take in so I'll give you time but you have to understand that Kelly is going to be the new Luna, my actual wife.” I pointed to myself. “And me? What will happen to me? What about me?” “You…youll serve beside her. I mean, we can't have two Lunas and since shes my actual mate, it's the right thing to do.” The fact that I wasn't even able to cry meant that I was just too shocked. “Don’t get me wrong, we're still married but you're not just my Luna. I won't reject you though and no one has to find out about your little secret. If you know what I mean.” I wanted to call him a bastard, to tell him that he was a two faced, son of a bitch. But my misery wasn't over. And then his mother had something to say. “Why’re you explaining anything? Get used to it, because you're going to be planning the wedding.”ROSHIDA A FEW MONTHS LATER. It was a sunny day. A perfect day for the perfect event. But I had meetings. Being Minister for Trade really wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought that since I already worked at the Fortress, it would be like that but it wasn't like that at all. I barely had time to stay home anymore and my schedule was always so busy. No matter how busy I was, I always made time for my son. He mattered to me and I knew that he needed me in his life. He had started walking which made me very proud. He was really growing up to be a big boy. He didn't even crawl all that much. Just straight to walking. He was strong just like his mother. For the first time in a long time things seemed to be normal. I knew that saying that would jinx it but I didn't mind. Because I liked the peace. I liked the stability that came with this period, waking up every day and knowing that it was going to be a peaceful day. There was obvious still a little trouble
ROSHIDA My eyes opened to the bright light pouring into the room. My body aches and I felt so weak that it was a struggle to keep my head stable. I tried to move but a sharp pain pieced my side. ”Roshida, you're awake. Gosh, I was so worried!” Sophia came to sit beside me and she held my hand. “Water.” My throat hurt so bad because of how parched it was. As she handed me the water, I noticed that the bottle had a straw because it looked like a cup. Normally, she would have told me to sit up. “What’s going on? Why am I on the bed? And why do I feel like this? Did I go running again?” It was only when I went running that I felt like this. My body didn't like being stressed at all. “You were stabbed..I found you on the floor covered in your own blood. Half the rug was ready soaked and I didn't even know what to do so I just brought you up her so I laid my hands on you.” The fact that Sophia had powers wss no news to me but the fact that she chose to use it s
2VALFRED“Thats because your whole house is wired! They bugged your house and now you think they can hear you think. How stupid are you that you didn't realize this?”How long had he been going around saying stupid shit like that? There was no way that he actually believed all that. But that was besides the point. The point was that I wanted to know the person that was funding his life style and giving him the confidence to threaten the King. “Alpha Lucas, if you make me ask the question again-”He raised his hand to protect his head. “Okay okay, I'm coming. It's- it's the Rogues.” It was like I hadn't heard what he said. What Rogues?“We took out the Rogues. We took their camp and their pack. Do you think I'm stupid?”He was just saying that to avoid saying the actual thing. “Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm serious. It's the Rogues. I'll show you something.” He stood up to bring a letter for me from his desk. When I took the letter, the first thing I noticed was the letterhead. That was
ROSHIDAWhen I saw her, it was too late. I'd woken up that morning extremely tired because of the things that had happened last night. Valfred and I had crossed that line and there was no going back now. That wasn't an issue though. This was a man that I completely trusted and I knew he would never disappoint me.I went to take a shower because I had to be somewhere with the Queen today. She said she wanted me to go somewhere with her since Clarissa wasn't around and she needed female advice. I loved having the Queen around and I accepted the invitation as soon as possible. On my way to the bathroom, I saw Valfred note. “Dear Roshida, I'm sorry I had to leave before you woke up. I would have really loved to wake up to you in my arms and to your beautiful face but I have to go do this one small thing and then I'll be back. Don't miss me and have a day as beautiful as you. Your love, Valfred.”The note was very short but I kept reading it over and over. He could have just sent t
VALFREDWe walked around the house for a while, going from room to room to check for him but we couldn't find him anywhere. “My Prince, don't you think that he has run away? I mean, only a stupid person would see the princess here and would still want to stay. Only a Stupid person would let his daughter take his beating.” I think Borge was about to meet the most senseless person I've ever met. “Let’s go downstairs. We went downstairs to soeak to the guards. It was obvious that they didn't like us being here which was no problem because we did not like being here but we didn't have a choice. “Listen up, all of you. I'm not here for you so don't make this your war. Don't make this about you. Where is your Alpha? He's not in his rooms.”They looked at each other like they were waiting for one of them to be the one to say something. When one person finally stepped forward, the rest of them wanted to hold him back but he pushed their hands off him. “Why are you protecting him? You kn
VALFREDThe next morning, I set out very early. I didn't want to draw attention to the whole thing so I took only Borge and Reggie with me just as Roshida had asked me to. As I stood up and began to dress up, I looked down at her sleeping figure on the bed.My sweet girl. Roshida was my blessing and she was the only thing that could make me happy. I hurried up with what I was doing and on my way out, I placed a kiss on her forehead, whispering that I would surely be here by nightfall. I closed the door behind me, going downstairs to meet with Reggie and Borge who were already waiting for me. We got into the car, not wasting time since we had a very long way to go. I was beginning to hate going to this place but I don't have a choice. Hopefully, this was the last time I would have to go there. As soon as I get what I'm doing over with, I'll leave and not go back. The car ride was silent because everyone had just woken up from sleep and was trying to get their thoughts together. “
ROSHIDAWhen the King said that he would give me everything back, I didn't mean that he meant that I would even be added to more titles. He was made the Minister for Trade for the whole Lycan Kingdom and it blew me away. After dinner, I went to stand by the balcony and just let the fresh air hit me. I wondered if I would ever get free from that cell again and it was starting to feel real while I was in that place. I didn't have any faith either that Valfred would find a way out for me but I wanted to keep an open mind . I felt hands wrap around me from behind and I smiled widely, knowing who would be able to do a thing like that to me. “I should have known you'd be here. I wonder what hold this place has on you.”He came to stand beside me and lean on the railing. “It’s about the peace I feel when I'm here. It just feels like the calm away from the storm. This place is like the most peaceful place in the house .”The King had to reshuffle his cabinet members and also the Elders
VALFREDWe took Jason back home and took him to my father right away. I didn't want to have a chance at change his story again. “What is this? What is going on, Valfred? Who is this man that is bleeding all over my carpet?”My father was in session with his elders and the Alphas from that day with Jameson in his front. “I apologise for the blood, it was just something we needed to do. But we needed to bring him back here because we did a resweep of the whole thing and I was shocked to see that Jason, one of the guards was running away with a bag full of money. You may ask yourself where the money came from because no one else gave it to him except the ones who made him lie against Roshida.”The funny thing about the whole thing was that they were all in court with my father. All those people that were there that day were here. Of course, Jameson was the first to speak up because he didn't want his secret to be exposed. “My King! What is this?! How can't why bring him like this bef
VALFREDWe were sitting inside the house and we listened to everything that he said. “Are you willing to repeat everything that house said to me in front of the King? You obviously don't think that I will let you go free.”He stood up from the chair and kneelt down. “My Prince, please don't let me appear before the King again. He said he will kill me if I'm not saying the truth. I don't want to die, please.”I placed my hand on his shoulder. “Would you prefer me to kill you? Because if you refuse to tell my father the truth so that your Luna can go free, I will tell him the truth as I have recorded here on my phone and I will track you down and still kill you from lying against her. Do you know what you have done to her? She trusted you and believed that you will set her free. She housed you in her home and treated you like family. And how do you pay her back when she needs you the most? You lie against her.”“They said that they will kill my family! I couldn't let anything happen
