67. Double Surprise.

Kael’s POV

It was getting late and she wasn’t back. Was she going to run away from the fact that she saw me half-naked? I didn’t think so. Maybe something was holding her. Or someone. Could it be Kael? No. No way could happen. They couldn’t stumble into each other twice a day.

It was a small place. A hotel that kept all of us together. There was no way that she could outrun him forever. Or maybe she wasn’t trying to outrun him. Perhaps she was trying to talk to him to see if he meant those words he’d spoken in the hallway earlier.

Would Aurelia really do something like that? I wasn’t sure, but I wasn’t ready to take the risk. I had to find her. I rose from the bed to move, but then I was stopped by a second thought.

Why was I going after her? She could perfectly take care of herself. There was no need to die to get involved just yet. If I did, it would look awkward and Kael would start suspecting. There were a lot of things I was trying to avoid here, and one of them was Kael. How
