Chapter Seventeen

I feel the nervousness roil in my stomach as we approach the party room. The soft sound of classic music drifts towards us as we make our closer and suddenly, I'm glad I have someone beside me in the form of a physical support. I really wouldn't have wanted to walk into this room all alone. With onle last reassuring smile at me, Jared and I make our way in.

There's a significant shift in atmosphere. I'm standing in a room with one of the most powerful business people and damn, I can feel it. There's suddenly a classy, opulent feel to even the air we are breathing. The wealthy aura in the room is so strong that for a moment I have to pause in my steps and take in a deep breath. I might not fit in but this is my product they are investing into. I'm pretty significant here in my own way. The party room is vast, much bigger than I expected and the lighting has been made just perfect for the atmosphere. Ornate chandeliers and lamps cast soft golden hues across the room so that it's
