Chapter 30

I could tell that I was falling, way before my ass hit the ground. The first thing that popped into my head was the Ben & Jerry’s in my hand. I had to do something to save the ice cream from dropping to the ground into a massive puddle so I held it up with both hands and prayed that I would have a soft landing.

It seemed that I didn’t need any landing after all since one pair of arms had stupidly thrown away the picnic basket and snaked their way around my waist. I blinked a few times as I looked up to meet his steely gray eyes. “Are you alright?” he asked in his British-Irish-American accent. An accent that, I now realized, was probably only belonged to him.
