Rising After Betrayal

"Don’t broadcast this video. Just switch it off! What do you mean? How could this woman have the recorded conversation between me and Bella?" said David.

"David, Olivia is dead. We can still marry, but at that time you divorced her. What’s wrong with that? We should continue our wedding," replied Bella.

At that moment, a police officer approached David and said something.

"This wedding is your business. My duty here is to deliver your wife, who died in an accident. I shall take my leave, I will not interfere with your personal matters. You had better bury your wife’s body quickly," said the police officer before leaving the restaurant.

"Ah… our wedding is ruined because of Olivia," David said in frustration.

"You cheating scoundrel! Look at your wife lying in that coffin, and yet you’re marrying now. You forced her and beat her, let’s report this man so he will be punished. Such a cruel husband," some people who had arrived began to condemn him.

"I can explain if she was the one deceiving me all this time. Please, don’t insult me," David said to everyone present.

"Enough! Even if you are the richest man in this city, or you have great wealth, you have no right to abuse your wife. She may be unattractive, but she was still your lawful wife. You divorced her merely for a prettier woman," remarked some of the wives of other tycoons who had attended the party.

"It’s best we leave. Turns out Mr David is a philanderer. Come quickly, before our wives suspect we’re like him," urged a wealthy gentleman who was present.

Several guests decided to leave David’s wedding reception. They disliked a cheating husband. Neither David nor Bella had expected their wedding party to fall apart.

"Don’t go! I shall explain this matter to you all," said David.

All the guests eventually left, leaving only David’s subordinates from his company. They were shocked to learn their boss was so cruel.

"David, our wedding party is ruined. I’m so ashamed of all this," Bella whimpered, hugging David tearfully.

"Be quiet! I’ll take care of this woman’s corpse. She’s already dead, we can hold our wedding celebration again, grand and luxurious. You needn’t be sad, no one knows Olivia had a child by another man, and that the child isn’t mine." David wiped Bella’s tears.

At the far end, Oscar and Olivia watched everything unfold. Olivia saw her husband’s tenderness towards Bella. Her heart ached; tears fell. Even in death, David did not care, instead rejoicing with Bella.

"Are you satisfied with exposing all of David’s crimes?" asked Oscar.

"Let’s leave. This pain from betrayal is far from over. I’ll make them pay again. David doesn’t care, even though I’m already dead, so why should I grieve now? Let’s go, Oscar," Olivia replied.

"Good. You must rise again after that man betrayed you," her younger brother encouraged, urging her to regain her spirit.

"I’ll change, and I’ll become more beautiful. I’ll raise my son with my own ability. Now I am a tycoon’s daughter, and I’ll never beg for love again." Olivia wiped her tears.

The two of them left the place at once. Of course, they entered a luxury car and went to Oscar’s lavish mansion.

In the car, Olivia recalled all the pain she had endured as David’s wife.

*I thought you loved me because I was carrying your child. I was a good wife, but you betrayed me. From this day on, I am no longer the foolish Olivia, and I will rise after being betrayed.*

With firm resolve, Olivia decided to follow Oscar. She and Daniel went to Oscar’s mansion. There, she was treated like a princess, served by several maids without having to lift a finger.

"Are you comfortable living here?" asked Oscar.

"I’m comfortable here. But I must change, to be as beautiful as I once was, so I’ll no longer be looked down upon," replied Olivia.

"Would you like to return abroad with me? Let’s go back to Grandfather’s estate. You could resume your studies and transform your body into something beautiful and alluring while there."

"Very well! I shall go to Grandfather’s house, and I shall work to slim down so I look beautiful. Look at my body—like this, it’s unpleasant to the eye. And my face, with its burn scars, is so hideous it disgusts people." Olivia touched the scars on her face from three years ago.

"I’ll make the arrangements. If you wish to take revenge on those who belittled and betrayed you, then you must have strong determination. I can help you with my money," said Oscar.

"When shall we go to Grandfather’s house?"

"In a week’s time. You must change your identity to that of a tycoon’s daughter. You must graduate with top marks, and become the perfect daughter. Can you meet Grandfather’s expectations?" asked Oscar.

"Whatever it takes, I can do it. I’ll go away for a while, but one day I’ll return to take revenge on David. Once I’m beautiful, I’ll take him back from Bella and toy with him," Olivia replied earnestly.

Olivia now had a brother who was always there for her. She would not crumble, even after being betrayed by her husband.

A week later, Olivia was already at the airport with Oscar and her son. They were heading abroad to meet their grandfather.

"Oscar, I want to buy Daniel’s favourite snacks. The flight is still some time away. You stay here."

"This is because you refused to take the private jet, so we must wait longer," replied Oscar.

"It’s better to use a commercial plane, but VVIP class, because there are many passengers. I’m not used to private jets," said Olivia.

"As you wish! Go quickly and buy the snacks, as there’s no guarantee Daniel will like what’s on the plane."

Olivia went to the convenience store in the airport. Just as she was about to enter, someone called her name from afar.

"Olivia… is that you?"

"Why is he here? I must get away," Olivia was startled to see the person calling her name.
