Chapter 45

After Quelle and Neven left to go to the Radiant Guardian pack Carmine decides today is a good day to introduce Wisdom as the true Alpha. But not until he speaks with Beauden, so he asks to talk to Beauden alone. Wisdom takes their daughter outside to the patio with Deshal, Idris, Kiri, and Einar.

Einar can’t stop thinking about the statement Wisdom said about the scent she smelt and that it has been lurking around her all her life. He’s wondering who and why the person does that and doesn't want her to know. Einar thought maybe it was a witch who was waiting for Wisdom to come into her powers. If so, why hasn’t he or she confronted Wisdom or at least made themself known? He’s brought out of his thoughts when Kiri rubs his arm, she had been talking to him for a few minutes.

She notices the look of concern as her mate is looking at Wisdom. “What’s wrong?” Kiri asks through their link.

“Maybe nothing, I’m not sure.” Einar kisses her head, 'nothing to worry about. At least for now."
