Dr Parker's POV

Elena's laugh filled the apartment like music. Not the sweet, gentle laughter I heard from her during Marcus's medical appointments, but something darker. Something that made my skin crawl.

"A monster?" she repeated, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Is that what I am, Dr. Parker?"

I stood in her doorway, trembling with rage and terror. "Yes. That's exactly what you are."

Elena walked back to her wine glass and picked it up, swirling the deep red liquid like she had all the time in the world.

"Let me understand this correctly," she said, her voice perfectly calm. "I'm a monster because I escaped the evil plans you all had for me?"

"That's not—"

"Because I refused to let my husband abandon me with millions in debt while he ran away with my step-sister?"

Her words hit me like physical blows.

"Because I wouldn't quietly accept being destroyed by people I trusted?"

Elena took a slow sip of her wine, her eyes never leaving my face.

"If that makes me a monster, Dr. Parker

  • Revenge is Best Served Cold   040: The Doctor's Desperation

Dr Parker's POV My hands wouldn't stop shaking as I stood in Elena's living room, staring at the woman I thought I knew. The same woman who had cried so beautifully when I told her her husband was dead. The same woman who had thanked me for being so caring during Marcus' final moments. Now she sat in her chair like a queen on her throne, sipping wine and watching me fall apart with those cold, calculating eyes."Elena," I said, my voice cracking like a teenager's. "I need to know. Have you been recording our conversations? Do you have evidence against me?"She tilted her head slightly, like she was considering the question. "What kind of evidence would I have, Dr. Parker?""Don't play games with me," I snapped, desperation making me bold. "Marcus's blood work came back. The drugs in his system... they're going to know exactly what I did to him."Elena took another sip of her wine. "Are they?""Of course they are!" I started pacing again, my medical bag clutched in my sweating palms.

  • Revenge is Best Served Cold   039: Sweet Justice

Elena’s POV I stood in the hospital corridor, my back pressed against the cool wall, watching through the open door of Marcus' room as Victor's men secured zip ties around my enemies' wrists. The plastic strips bit into their skin, leaving angry red marks that would only get worse as they struggled.Perfect.Isabella was fighting the hardest, thrashing in her chair like a wild animal despite her injured leg. Blood was now soaking through the bandage on her thigh, staining the white gauze a deep crimson shade of red."You lying bitch!" Isabella screamed, her voice carrying through the door. "I know you took the money! I know you planned all of this!"Her eyes found mine through the door and I could see the pure hatred burning there. The desperate rage of someone who had finally realized they were outplayed at every turn.I stepped closer to the door so she could see me clearly. Then I smiled. Not the sweet, innocent smile I was wearing all day. Not the confused, heartbroken widow expr

  • Revenge is Best Served Cold   038: The Perfect Trap

Isabella's POV I watched Elena's performance from my chair and pain was shooting through my injured leg with every heartbeat. But the physical pain was nothing compared to the rage building in my chest as I saw through her perfect act. Those tears weren't real. The shaking in her voice, the shocked confusion on her face, all of it was fake and calculated. Planned down to the last detail.Elena stood there in her simple black dress, playing the devastated widow who just discovered her husband was alive. But I could see the cold intelligence behind her eyes. The satisfaction she was trying so hard to hide. She fooled Marcus completely. Even now, as she pushed those divorce papers in his face, he still didn't understand what she really was.But I did. I saw exactly what Elena Martinez had become."You bitch," I whispered, my voice was harsh with pain and anger.Elena's head turned toward me, and for just a second, her facade didn't hide her real expression. I saw the real her, the woman

Marcus' POV I stared at my phone screen until the brightness burned my eyes. The numbers didn't change no matter how long I looked at them. Balance: $0.00 My hands were shaking as I pulled down to refresh the app. The loading symbol turned round and round for what felt like forever. Maybe there was a mistake. Maybe the bank's system was down. Maybe… Balance: $0.00 "No," I whispered, my voice barely audible above the sound of the machines that were still beeping. "This can't be right." I refreshed again. And again. Each time hoping to see those beautiful numbers that meant my salvation. Five point two million dollars. My escape fund. My ticket to freedom and frankly at this point, maybe life. But the screen kept showing the same devastating amount. Balance: $0.00 My heart monitor was screaming now, the beeps were coming so fast they almost blended into one continuous alarm. Sweat poured down my face despite the air conditioning in the room. "There has to be a mistake," I s

  • Revenge is Best Served Cold   036: The Perfect wife's Performance…again

Marcus' POV Elena stepped into the room like she was walking into her own nightmare. Her face looked as if she had been crying, and her hands were shaking a bit as she pressed them to her chest."Marcus," she whispered, her voice breaking with emotion. "They told me at the front desk that you were here. I thought they were lying. I thought it was some cruel mistake. Is it really you?"She moved closer to my hospital bed, her eyes never leaving my face. It was as if she was trying to judge my reactions."How could you do this to me?" she asked, her voice cracking. "How could you put me through such agony? I planned your funeral, Marcus. I almost buried you."This was my chance. My only chance to get out of this nightmare alive."Victor… Mr Kozlov," I said quickly, turning to face him before Elena could say anything else. "This is Elena, my wife. She's the one I borrowed the money for."Elena's face went blank with confusion. "What money? Marcus, what are you talking about?""Don't act
