ログインLulu
"I'm sorry, Alpha Caspian."
I bowed as low as I could. Even in front of werewolf guests I had never met before, I still felt humiliated. To get some food and leave this place as soon as possible, I had to suppress my frustration when Alpha Caspian chuckled softly.
My wolf hearing was still sharp enough to catch the whispers among them.
“Does she not know who Alpha Caspian is?” said a round-eyed she-wolf, glancing at me with a sharp look as she spoke to the he-wolf beside her.
“Look at her, she looks nervous. Alpha Caspian's charm really is bewitching to she-wolves.” Another she-wolf chimed in from the back of the group.
“I feel like I’ve seen her before, but I can’t remember where,” murmured a stylish blonde she-wolf.
Their whispers only made me shrink further. I straightened up but kept my head lowered. This felt like karma for defying Alpha Caspian back in the forest.
"Guys, Beta Rohan will give you a tour of the mansion. I need to speak with my guest, but I’ll join you later."
"I’ll be waiting for you, Alpha Caspian." The blonde she-wolf kissed his cheek before strutting off with the others.
Alpha Caspian approached me slowly. Unlike earlier in the forest, he now looked more authoritative, dressed in a long-sleeved shirt rolled up to his elbows and well-fitted trousers. The youthful impression I had of him earlier had vanished, replaced by someone who exuded dominance.
"Did Dalila not tell you to stay in the cabin?"
"Oh, the omega? She tried to stop me. She said you'd scold her for not doing her job by keeping me there. You really shouldn’t, though, because I was the one who ran away."
"Lulu McCarthy, fire elemental werewolf, Luna of the Emerald Earth pack. The she-wolf I found in a cabin, comatose, with a wound—over her heart. She’s also incredibly stubborn, refuses to back down, thinks she’s always right, and… beautiful."
My mouth fell open. Everything he said was true—except for the last part. I bit my lip, processing his words.
My stomach rumbled loudly, and I knew I had to surrender. Once again, Alpha Caspian had to witness this natural sound.
"Come with me, Luna Lulu."
"Where are we going… Alpha Caspian?"
"The dining hall. Do you like venison?"
"Is it from that deer earlier?"
"Yes. I never let go of what’s mine."
We walked in silence until we arrived at an opulent dining hall, adorned with lavender-scented candles and gleaming silverware reflecting the light of a crystal chandelier.
Alpha Caspian gestured to one of the omegas, who promptly left to fetch food. After about fifteen minutes, the meal was served.
The only other figure in the room was Alpha Caspian. He sat at the far end of the table, watching me with an unreadable expression.
"Sit down and enjoy your meal, Luna Lulu," he said, his voice deep and composed.
I swallowed hard, then picked up the cutlery. The plate before me held steaming cuts of venison, the aroma making my stomach tighten with hunger.
Without further hesitation, I began eating. The meat was tender, rich with flavour, the seasoning perfectly balanced. I couldn’t even remember the last time I had eaten something this delicious. For a moment, I forgot Alpha Caspian was still there, silently observing me.
When I finally leaned back in my chair, full and satisfied, I realised he hadn’t looked away once. Wiping my mouth with a napkin, I finally met his gaze.
"Is there something you want to talk about, Alpha Caspian? You've been watching me this whole time," I said evenly.
He leaned back, linking his fingers together on the table. "Why did you run from the cabin?"
I hesitated. I had expected this question. I did run away, but not without reason. Instead of answering, I asked, "How did I end up there?"
Alpha Caspian’s sharp eyes narrowed slightly, as if deciding whether to answer. "One of my warriors found you in that cabin. You were unconscious."
My heart pounded. "And how did I get to that cabin?" I repeated.
He shrugged. "That’s what I’d like to ask you."
I exhaled deeply. "I don’t remember much. I just recall a sudden attack by a sorcerer, excruciating pain in my chest, and someone's voice saving me. After that, everything went dark."
Alpha Caspian cleared his throat and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "Luna Lulu, I saw the wound on your chest—"
"You saw my bre**st?" My hands instinctively covered myself.
"Of course, I did. It was covered in blood, the wound was gaping, and your clothes were torn—"
"I feel violated."
"For Moon Goddess’s sake, Lulu. That’s not what I meant. You were in critical condition, and that’s where your mind goes? Besides, I’ve seen plenty of br**sts far better than yours."
"You’re insulting me now?"
"Shit! You asked me to explain, didn’t you?"
I fell silent. He was right—I was being overreactive.
The wound on my chest. The sorcerer had taken my heart. That should have killed me. Yet, I was still here. Breathing. Alive because of Mum’s sacrifice, but I couldn’t tell Alpha Caspian that.
Then, a more urgent thought struck me. I sat up straight. "What about my baby?"
For the first time since I met him, Alpha Caspian’s expression softened slightly. He stood up and held out his hand. "Come with me."
I eyed him warily.
"We’re going to check on your baby," he explained.
I bit my lip before reluctantly placing my hand in his. He led me out of the dining hall, down a long corridor lined with grand paintings. I could sense warriors stationed at the corners, but they all avoided looking at me.
We arrived at a clinic pavilion at the back of the mansion. The room was spotless, the scent of antiseptic filling the air. It felt more sterile and professional than the rest of the mansion.
A she-wolf with dark brown hair tied neatly at the back stood there, dressed in a white coat. Her brown eyes flickered towards Alpha Caspian before settling on me.
"Doctor Violet Allen," Alpha Caspian introduced.
Doctor Allen offered a small smile and gestured towards the examination bed. "I’ll do a quick check-up," she said gently.
I nodded and lay down as instructed, anxiety creeping into my chest. Whatever came next would determine everything.
Doctor Allen placed her hands on my stomach. A cool sensation spread across my skin. Then, she applied gel and moved the ultrasound probe over my belly. I held my breath as a small heartbeat echoed through the room.
"Your baby’s heart is strong," Doctor Allen reassured me with a warm smile. "It’s still early in the pregnancy, but he’s holding on remarkably well. There are no signs of concern so far."
Relief washed over me. My eyes welled up, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I could breathe again.
Alpha Caspian remained by the door, watching me with an expression I couldn’t quite decipher.
"He’s strong," I murmured.
"Like his mother," Doctor Allen replied kindly.
I gazed at the ultrasound screen, feeling an unbreakable connection with the little life inside me. I wouldn’t let anything happen to them. Not again.
Doctor Allen turned to Alpha Caspian. "Alpha, I’d like to prescribe some vitamins to support her pregnancy. Do you approve?"
I frowned. Why did he need to approve?
Without hesitation, Alpha Caspian nodded. "Give her whatever she needs."
Doctor Allen handed me a small bottle of capsules, which I accepted gratefully. "Thank you, Doctor Allen."
As we left the clinic, I turned to Alpha Caspian. "I appreciate your help, Alpha Caspian."
His lips curled into a smirk. "Did you think everything comes for free, Luna Lulu?"
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
He stepped closer, close enough that I could catch the aquatic scent of his body mixed with something raw, something primal. "I saved you. Gave you shelter. Fed you. And now, I’m making sure your baby is safe."
I swallowed hard. "And you want something in return?"
His smirk deepened. "Of course, but I’ll tell you later."
A strange shiver ran down my spine. I knew Alpha Caspian’s reputation—he was a notorious flirt.
What unsettled me more was the tiny spark inside me, the one I thought had died after betrayal.
Why is my heart beating now?
LuluLast night was a complete disaster, but the vision of my mum changed everything. As I adjusted the pillow, I looked at Caspian, who was still waiting for me to speak, his expression full of worry.“There’s something my mum drew,” I whispered again, this time more firmly.Caspian moved closer, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Did she say anything?”“Not in words,” I replied, trying to recall every detail. I raised my hand, copying the movement I’d seen in the dream. “She made a circular motion, pointing right at the dragon’s heart. Then she pointed at the moon, just as it was nearing its peak.”I let out a long breath, feeling a dull throb in my temples. “That pyromancer mentioned something about the ‘Thirteenth Moon’. Mum seemed to confirm it. She wants me to save the dragon at the right moment. I’m certain that circle symbol isn’t just a random gesture, it’s the key.”Caspian frowned, his hands clenched on his knees. “I’ve no idea what that could mean, Lulu. Problem is, we can’t
LuluI adjusted my bag, making sure the cloak didn’t expose the two of us and the compass in my hand. Caspian had already moved closer to me; our shadows, which had been stretched across the rough wooden floor of the inn, disappeared as we began to move.“Are you ready?” he whispered.I was just about to nod when a sound broke the silence of the room. My baby’s sharp cry stopped us in our tracks. My heart dropped.I quickly went to the basket, lifting the tiny body into my arms. “Sshh, darling, it’s Mummy. Quiet now,” I whispered in panic.Instead of calming down, the crying only grew louder, filling the small room with a pitch that could set off alarms across the whole city.Sandra appeared from behind the curtain, her face looking tired. “Give her to me, Luna Lulu. Maybe she’s cold.”I handed her over. Sandra immediately wrapped my baby in a blanket. But the crying didn’t stop. Caspian stepped closer, his usually firm face now stiff with worry. He tried holding the baby, rocking her
LuluIt’s been two days since Caspian admitted the bitter truth about our imperfect bond. For those same two days, we’ve been taking turns scouring every corner of this stifling city, trying to find any trace of Vane.We move in an awkward silence. Even though Caspian keeps trying small things, like making sure I eat properly or draping a blanket over me when I fall asleep from exhaustion, I still keep my distance.Trust, once cracked, doesn’t mend in a single night of regret. That afternoon, the terrace of our inn is quieter than usual. Normally it’s packed with sorcerers chatting away or lounging about, sipping tea that smells suspiciously like horse dung. We’re sat on a bench a bit further from the entrance when Dren approaches. Without much fuss, he hands Caspian a rolled parchment.“Master Thaddeus invites you to the Velodrome tomorrow,” Dren says shortly before walking off. “There’s a show you wouldn’t want to miss as honoured guests.”I glance at Caspian, and I know we’re think
LuluCaspian quickly pulled off what was left of his torn shirt and wrapped it around me.“Don’t touch me!” I snapped, my voice hoarse, my throat still burning.I shoved his hand away, clutching the shirt tighter around my shaking body.“Lulu, you’re hurt. Let me see it,” Caspian said, his voice frustrated but laced with regret. He sat down on the ground in front of me, keeping the distance I’d asked for.“No.” I stared at him, my eyes stinging with tears that refused to fall. “It still hurts and that’s because of you.”“Sorry,” Caspian cut in. “I had to do it. I just didn’t expect things to go this far.”“Easy for you to say when I’m the one they tortured worse.” My voice rose.“I know, but I couldn’t stand seeing you like that either.”“You should’ve told me!” I shouted, the pain in my chest flaring. “Why didn’t you tell me about Niobe? Why did you let me think she betrayed us?”Caspian looked down, unable to meet my eyes. “Because Niobe’s cover is fragile. The fewer people who know
LuluFor the Moon Goddess’s sake, the stench of corpses around me was even worse than death usually smelled.I was still in Pyrrha’s form. My paws were soaked in a mix of water from Caspian’s attack and the enemies’ blood. My fangs were still clenched tight, bits of one of those fire witches’ flesh caught between them.My eyes locked back onto Niobe. She stood there, at the edge of the shattered ritual circle, looking far too calm for someone who had just witnessed a massacre. Her clothes were neat. Her hair wasn’t even out of place. Compared to me who had just gone through something that felt like being skinned alive.Caspian, who had just shifted back from his feral Morpheus form, looked terrifying even now. Naked, his body covered in cuts and bruises, smeared with blood and mud. But he ignored all of it and walked straight toward Niobe.“Well done, Niobe.” Caspian’s words echoed in my head, hitting harder than any fire spell. “Your report on this ritual came in a bit late, but you
Lulu“Bit funny, innit? Two wolves stalking us when this place is miles from any pack territory.” The leader’s voice slithered under my skin.We were on our knees in the middle of a pulsing ring of blood, bound and helpless as he drifted closer. His robe whispered over the rocky ground, the sound dry—like sandpaper scraping. He stopped right in front of me. His thin, pale hand shot out, grabbing the collar of my already torn shirt from when I fell off that cliff earlier. With a rough yank, he ripped it open, exposing the ugly scar across my chest—the mark from the night everything was taken from me.The sorcerer’s eyes widened. He sucked in a sharp breath, then let out a raspy laugh.“Well, well,” he murmured, his voice trembling with sick excitement. “Vane really was too stupid to let you live, Lulu.”I tilted my head up, staring into the face beneath the hood. His skin was deathly pale, black veins bulging at his temples.I didn’t know him. I was sure I’d never seen him before, but
