ASHLEY

On my third day of training, things weren't like they were on my first day. In fact, I'd compliment myself for being a fast learner. Though the soreness in my muscles was still there, it wasn’t as bad as before.

I was starting to enjoy the routine, the sound of swords clashing, the stomp of boots on dirt, the way the warriors laughed and encouraged each other.

When I stepped into the training field, the warriors paused to bow, just like they always did. I smiled and waved. “Good morning.”

Mira grinned at me. “Ready for another bruising?”

“Ready to give you one instead,” I teased back.

We were warming up when I overheard Lorna's name in between murmurs. I looked towards the direction the murmurs came, only to meet their gaze towards the direction of the gate. I followed their gaze, and there she was. Lorna.

Her eyes locked on me instantly, she didn’t even glance at the other warriors. “So it’s true,” she said loudly. “The Luna has time to play with swords while the rest of us

ASHLEY(Two Days Ago)The news came to me from Kael himself. We were in his study when he leaned back on his chair, looking thoughtful. “Ashley,” he said in that calm, heavy voice of his, “we will be having a guest in the next three days. A warlord, well respected among packs. He sent word about visiting. I told him I would be away… but he still insisted on meeting you.”“Me?” I pointed at myself, half laughing. “Why would he want to see me?”Kael’s lips curved into the smallest smile. “Because you are my Luna. And because he wants to see what kind of woman leads by my side.”I froze for a moment, my heart hammering against my ribs. It sounded so easy when he said it, but I knew what it meant. This wasn’t just about seeing what type of Luna leads by his side, this was about proving myself, proving that I belonged here – not only to Kael but to everyone in this pack.I tried to hide my nerves. “Alright,” I said, though my voice wasn’t as steady as I wanted. “I’ll do my best.”“You alwa

LORNA I stayed in my room for two days after what happened in Kael’s office. I didn’t care who noticed my absence or wondered why I had suddenly become distant. I had no strength to face anyone, not Kael, not Arin, not any single person. My thoughts kept running in circles, and no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t find peace. That night, just when the silence in my room was becoming unbearable, I heard a light knock on my window. My heart jumped, scared who would be knocking on a window so high from the ground at such an hour of the night. But upon seeing the rogue king's messenger, I felt relaxed.I pushed the window open and stepped back as he climbed inside, slightly bowing his head. "You came," I said, shutting the door before someone saw us. "I was beginning to wonder if that was the last time we'd meet."“You remember what we discussed?” he asked in a low tone.I swallowed hard and nodded. “I thought about it… and I’ve made up my mind. I’ll work with your king.”A faint smil

LORNAIt had been two weeks since the Rogue king's messenger had come to me. I kept regretting why I had not asked for his name or some way to reach him again. The thought haunted me often, especially at night when my mind refused to rest.I was pacing around my room when Mira entered.“My lady,” she said softly, “Luna Arin is going out shopping.”At once, I frowned. “Is Kael going with her?”Mira shook her head. “No.”I hurried to the window with a racing heart. Arin going shopping? That thought haunted me more than it annoyed me. From there, I saw Kael himself walking her down to the awaiting car. He kissed her before she entered, like a man who could not help but show his love.“Call me if anything happens,” I heard him whisper to her.I clenched my fists, fighting back the anger that simmered inside of me. Without thinking, I turned away and stormed out of my chamber. One would think I was heading for a serious battle because that's exactly what it was.Mira tried to stop me, "My

LORNAI sat in silence long after the man left, my hands gripping the armrest of my chair. My mind kept going back to the man’s words. “The Rogue King will help you, if you want Lady Arin gone. He will help you claim your place as Luna."At first, I thought it was nonsense. How could a rogue king dare to speak of Kael’s throne? But the way he said it… I won't lie, I felt for it. I pressed my lips together, trying to shake the thought away. Yet it stayed, echoing in my head.“Do I even dare…?” I muttered to myself.I wanted Arin gone, I wanted her out of Kael’s life forever. But to even think of working with Kael’s enemy, it could destroy me. If Kael ever found out, he would never forgive me. He would hate me more than death itself. And yet… if I sit still, if I do nothing, Arin will continue to smile at his side, while I stand in the shadows as a forgotten lover.I buried my face in my hands and let out a heavy sigh, my chest hurt from the weight of it all.The door creaked open. Mir

LUCIUSI leaned back in my chair, tapping my fingers on the armrest of my chair while I stared at my spy who was kneeling before me. “My Lord,” he greeted, bowing his head, “I bring news from inside the Lycan pack."Lately, news reaching me from the Lycan pack has only made things worse. It wasn't the kind I wished to hear, it wasn't the type of news where you'd hear fires and flames, death and cries. It was always the love and romances, the happy ever after.I was close to walking him out, but I insisted on hearing what he's got to say. I sighed heavily . "What food news?""Luna Arin is not as untouchable as she looks. There is someone, Lady Lorna, the Lycan king's ex-girlfriend, who hates her deeply. She carries jealousy like a blade in her chest.”I raised an eyebrow, this was a different story entirely. And it interested me to know where he was heading with it. “Lorna…” I repeated the name slowly. “And she hates Lady Arin?”“Yes, my Lord,” the spy confirmed. “She envies her, desp
