I hung up and sat there thinking, it’s been centuries that we’ve been looking for others and found none.  The war that almost made us extinct and all the other supernatural’s that are now long gone, how did we miss any of our own kind.  My grandfather and father have sent out trackers, looking for any signs of our kind and none have returned, but they all had the same results, there are none left, only us, so where did these wolves come from and why did they suddenly appear?  I stood and walked to my office, I gave them one hour to appear here and if they don’t, I’ll make sure they do.

I entered my office to find Beta Winston waiting for me, he turned with a surprised look on his face, “That was fast, losing your charm or did Lisa not satisfy you?”

I threw my phone on the desk and sat in my chair, “why are you here, instead of training?”

He chuckled, “training is completed for the day,” he shrugged, “there is a couple that have chosen to be mates, one of our warriors,” he said excitedly.

I leaned into my desk, “why do you find so much pleasure in mates?”

He shrugged, “just means we will grow soon, more mates, more pups, more growth, that is what we want isn’t it.” he sat back with a cheesy grin on his face.  He arched a brow at me, “you’re only in a shitty mood cause Alpha Christopher got onto you again about choosing a mate, you do need to do that Alpha, get the pack moving forward, you do take a bit of a chunk out of the pool for others to choose from.”

I side eyed him, “and you Beta Winston, why have you not chosen yet, what are you waiting for?”

He smiled, “you Alpha, my heir shouldn’t be older than yours, it wouldn’t be fitting for the Beta to be older than his Alpha, like us,” he waved his finger between the two of us.

I shook my head, “I see, so you could still choose one, I promise I won’t go after her as my Luna, you need to and then I will, how’s that.” 

He slaps his hands on his thighs and stands, “deal, I’m going for a run and check out the perimeter, unless there is something else you need me to do?”

I shook my head and watch as he leaves, I’m sure he won’t choose any of the females, until I do, but at least that will keep him off my back about it for a few months anyway.

My phone rang and I gladly picked it up, “which one is on the way?”

Dr. Ryan’s voice was full of regret, “Alpha Nico, as I told you earlier the female is in a coma, her mate won’t leave her side and the other will not leave the pup without protection, it’s a long story Alpha, but it seems the pup isn't aware of what she is and the father has been estranged for many years,  I've just learned he never marked her and,

I interupted, "never marked his mate, is he stupid or just an asshole?:

Dr. Ryan sighed, "uninformed, he's parents were two your grandfather sent out, the other's he met, but I believe the female is an Oracle, with what he said about her wolf, if you'd just give them some time, I'm sure one will come to you”

I growled, “I made myself clear Dr. Ryan, I’ll make sure he is well aware there are consequences to refuse your Alpha,” I hung up.
