“Kai,” I called for Eliot’s wolf, who I knew was more reliable for this situation. Kai was calmer than Eliot, and only he could reach Eliot now.

But Kai let out a loud growl, which shook the ground and made another Alpha beside me growl him back in response. Alpha Matthew even already bent forward, ready to attack Eliot anytime.

Oh, Goddess! What kind of situation was this?

“Kai. El.” I called both of them in the hope one of them listen to me. “Calm down. We can talk about this.” I extended my hand, taking a step forward to reach him.

A smile formed on my lips as I saw him move closer. But it instantly disappeared when I noticed he was running and now jumping not onto me but Alpha Matthew. And, of course, Alpha Matthew wouldn’t back off but instead shifted and launched his body at Eliot.

Goddess, what should I do?
