How dare you?!

"Why is there a problem, Gla?" Louis asked when he noticed something unusual in his granddaughter's expression.

Glara shook her head and smiled faintly. She then took the documents handed over by Louis and began studying the contents. Her brow furrowed as she read through the presented information. "Grandfather, what if I don't approve of this proposal? What will happen?" Glara asked Louis, who was sitting on the opposite sofa.

Louis appeared to ponder for a moment before smiling. "Why? Do you know the leader of that company?"

Glara nodded softly. "I'm familiar with the owner's name, but I'm not entirely sure if he's the right person. Besides, I haven't found any innovation in his proposal. Everything seems monotonous, and we've done this before."

Louis nodded and said that he entrusted all decisions to Glara. She had the right to make any decision, of course, with careful consideration and not just based on her emotions.

After conveying his message to Glara, Louis excused himself to visit Gama. Glara continued dealing with her documents, studying one by one the developments in her family's company that she had missed.

At exactly 12 noon, Glara and her assistant moved to the agreed-upon meeting place. For this particular guest, Glara requested that the guards not enter the meeting room and just wait outside the restaurant.

"Ma'am, may I excuse myself to the restroom for a moment?" Rose, Glara's assistant and secretary, said. Glara nodded and said that she would enter first to avoid making her colleagues wait.

With confident and determined steps, Glara began to tread the ceramic floor of the expensive restaurant. She scanned the area, looking for the table reserved by her associate. Before Glara could move towards the designated table, a loud laughter interrupted her.

"Hahaha! Look who's standing in front of me!" Damian taunted, laughing and clapping. Glara remained silent, staring flatly at Damian, waiting for the next move from her still-husband.

"Dear, why bother talking to her?" a sexy woman standing beside him intimately wrapped her arms around the man in a black suit.

Damian kissed the top of Marta's head. "Perhaps to see this woman humbling herself, begging for a job maybe? Or pleading for a monthly allowance to take care of that sick child."

"Well, coincidentally, Glara, I'm looking for an office girl; perhaps you're suitable for the position," Marta replied with an enthusiastic expression.

Glara was truly disgusted with the conversation between the two beings in front of her. She felt the urge to slap both of them, but Glara still had a conscience that prevented her from doing so. In any case, Damian had treated her like a daughter, even though everything was just a mere facade.

"So, Glara, what do you say? Do you want it? If you do, you can start working today," Damian continued, still mocking Glara. "Ah, don't think too long. I know you need a job, right? You don't deserve to dress up like this; an office girl uniform seems more fitting on you."

Glara took a deep breath; she returned to her original intention of coming to this restaurant. Without many words, Glara intended to turn around and leave the two beings. "Oh, maybe you're selling yourself again? That's why your appearance has changed like this," Damian quipped because Glara had been silent all this time.

"Watch your words, Damian!" Glara snapped, not accepting Damian's insult. Glara had intentionally kept silent to avoid causing a scene, but Damian's words were beyond tolerable, and Glara couldn't remain silent any longer.

"It's okay; just say it. Didn't you work outside the country? That's how you could send a lot of money. Now you need more money, right? For the treatment of that sick child!"

Glara's emotions reached their peak. She slapped Damian across the face.

Slap!

"How dare you!" Damian shouted, not accepting Glara's action. He tried to retaliate, but a strong and muscular arm gripped tightly on his still-raised hand. "Let go!" Damian yelled, trying to release the grip.

"Only a coward hits a woman." Damian struggled to swallow his saliva; the man's words and gaze were truly sharp, as if piercing Damian deeply. Unlike Glara, who looked at the man in surprise and confusion.

After all, Glara didn't know this figure. Feeling defeated, the man released Damian's hand and walked away without saying a word to Glara. Before Damian could process what had just happened, he was further surprised by the arrival of a secretary from a renowned company coveted by every other company.

In the next moment, Damian was even more shocked when Rose called out to and recognized Glara. "Excuse me, ma'am, are you okay?" she asked worriedly and fearfully.

"I'm fine."

"Do you know each other?" Damian asked, confused.

Rose turned and only then realized Damian was there. "Mr. Damian, Mrs. Marta," she greeted politely. "Ms. Glara, this is the leader of the Norush Group we were supposed to meet."

"Supposed to meet?" Marta asked, representing Damian's confusion.

"Sorry, Mr. Damian and Mrs. Marta, this is Ms. Glara, the leader of the Sapphire Group. She takes over from Grandmaster Louis starting today."

Glara almost burst into laughter seeing Damian and Marta's shocked expressions. "So, you're..." Glara smiled smirkingly, putting one of her hands into the pocket of her tailored pants that hugged her long legs. "Rose, it seems I can't continue this collaboration. You know how I select and choose my partners, right?"

Rose nodded; she was very familiar with Glara's characteristics. How could she not be, having worked together for 4 years before Glara decided to leave the company for her love for Damian.

"Moreover, this is a significant project. I won't let my company collaborate with a small company led by a greedy person," added Glara, saying it with a flat expression and a relaxed but deadly aura.

"How can that be, Glara? You can't make decisions without hearing our presentation," protested Damian.

Glara smiled casually. "A presentation from this poor proposal? Just reading it makes me feel bored and nauseous. There's no innovation, a monotonous concept, and higher costs? Hasn't this concept been used by other companies before? At least do a conceptual innovation, not just an innovation to grab someone else's wealth." After saying this, Glara left with Rose walking behind her.

"As a leader, you shouldn't mix personal matters with work. No wonder Damian..."

The woman's words were cut off as Glara stopped and took a few steps back. She slightly bowed her body and approached Marta's ear, making Marta shiver in horror.

"You're just..."
