After three years of marriage, my Alpha chose to spend time with his first love during a festival meant for fated mates. He left me alone at home while I was still carrying his pup.

"I'm taking Lena to the Moonlight Forest this Moonlight Festival. Be mature about it. She's alone here with no one to depend on but me. You're not going to get jealous about something like this, right?" Dion said as he adjusted the new tie Lena had bought for him without even giving me a glance.

"I know you're with pup right now, so I won't take her home. Otherwise, you'll have another meltdown again when you see her and use the pup as an excuse. It's good enough if I take her out and out of your sight."

The Moonlight Forest was a sacred place blessed by the Moon Goddess. She would grant her blessings to those who were in love if they made a vow there.

Legend had it that mates who made their pledge for each other during the Moonlight Festival would never be separated for life.

It was the place I had always dreamed of going to with Dion.

But during the three years we were married, we didn't go to the Moonlight Festival due to our many duties to the pack. Yet, the first year his first love returned was enough to make him decide to leave me at home while taking her to receive the Moon Goddess's blessing.

I looked up to the man who mocked me, and the woman nestled against his shoulders with her eyes welling up with tears, sobbing.

She choked and said, "It's fine. If Luna disagrees, then let it be. I'm just an orphan whom no one loves. I'm used to being alone. Don't ruin your happiness with Luna just because of me."

Dion held the woman in his arms and tenderly said, "You're always so understanding."

Then, he shot me with a brutal glare. "If you ever dare aggrieve Lena, I'll make you pay."

Lena buried her face in Dion's chest and pretended to sob while glaring at me. Her eyes gleamed with smugness.

I still couldn't make heads or tails of the situation when Dion started to scold me.

"Jenna, when can you be as kind and compassionate as Lena? She lost her parents when she was little and hasn't been to the Moonlight Forest. I'm just fulfilling my responsibilities like an older brother to a little sister. Can you not scrutinize me every moment? When will you stop being so petty? It's not like I'm cheating."

I stared at what was happening in front of me in a daze. I finally realized I had been reborn.

I was back on the day when Dion wanted to take Lena to the Moonlight Forest.

I didn't let Dion hurt me again verbally and said coldly, "Sure. I'll pack for you two right now."

Dion froze. In the past, I would go mad the moment I heard he had another woman outside of our home.

There was this one time when I held a knife to my stomach when Dion wanted to pick Lena up from the airport, threatening him with our pup's life.

But today, I did nothing at all and even prepared to pack his things for him when he wanted to take Lena to the Moonlight Forest during the Moonlight Festival.

Maybe he still had some lingering feelings for me. My indifference actually made his heart ache slightly.

However, Lena's tears quickly pulled him back.

"That's better. You should learn to behave for the sake of the pup in your womb, even if you care little about yourself. You're the pack's Luna, so you should be graceful and stop being so jealous all the time. And stop comparing yourself to Lena. Unlike you, she's kind and innocent."

Lena playfully punched Dion on his chest and said in a soft voice, "I'm not that nice."

"Why not? You're the kindest of all in my eyes."

In my past life, I had held a knife to my belly, threatening our pup's life so Dion would stay.

When the silver blade was going to slice open my belly, everyone in the pack advised him to consider the big picture. Especially when the pup I carried was the next Alpha.

Under the pressure, he gave in. Lena then went to the Moonlight Forest alone. She was then ambushed, raped, and then killed by wolves on her way there.

Dion showed no fury when he found out. Just when I thought he had finally forgotten Lena and was going to stay with me forever, he dragged me to Lena's grave after I gave birth and skinned our pup alive right before my eyes.

I finally realized the truth when I watched my pup die horribly.

He had planned it all from the beginning.

I died full of hatred and resentment as he tortured me to death. I swore if I was given another chance before dying, I would make Dion pay.
