Just as the Silverwolf Pack was about to fall into ruin, Blaise Larkin approached me and asked me to be his mate. I'd had a crush on Blaise for as long as I could remember. Now that my wildest dreams were about to come true, I was happy to form a mate bond with him. As I was the sole daughter of the Eastern Pack's Alpha, I was able to provide him with a mountain of resources by becoming Blaise's mate. One month after our bonding ceremony, I was expecting a pup. I was ecstatic, but before I could share the news with Blaise, I overheard something soul-shattering. "I wonder who fathered the pup of our pregnant Luna." "She probably got involved with some filthy Rogue. There's no way Alpha Blaise will let her give birth to that mutt, right?" If it weren't for those werewolves, I wouldn't know that Blaise was pretending we never mated. When I demanded answers in a deranged manner, he threw me into the underground prison and forced me to atone for the death of his first love. "If you didn't insist on becoming my mate, Susie wouldn't have left the pack—she also wouldn't have gotten slaughtered by Rogues!" Eight months later, I lost my pup in the cell I was imprisoned in and died, soaking in my own blood. When I opened my eyes once again, I found myself back on the day Blaise asked me to be his mate.
View MoreJames is looking at all the tips he lost that night. Those little tips add up to a big fortune. To his dismay, it means his entire fortune. He breaks out in a cold sweat, while the winner laughs in amusement. He sees the man collect the last chip that was also his last hope. James had bet everything on that game, hoping he could recover everything he'd lost in the last few games. Pure bad luck.
Honestly, he doesn't know how he's going to pay for all that. His debt was already high, and he could declare bankruptcy as soon as he left the Serendipity Casino. However, the owners also know that he cannot afford it.
He's thinking about how to get out of there alive, when a tall man, six feet tall, muscles so evident they popped out of his black shirt, calls out to him. The man doesn't have a very friendly expression, but James cowardly follows him.
They walk to an extremely luxurious room inside the casino. There, another man awaits. He has intense eyes and hair dark as night. He wears a suit that you can tell at a glance that it's expensive.
“Well, Mr. James, it's a shame to see you here.” The man says in an ice-cold voice that sends shivers down James' spine. “Because that means you don't have the money to pay off yours debt to us. Indeed, we have a problem.”
“Please, Asher... I'll find a way to pay you back...”
“How, if there isn't a penny in your pockets?” The man says sarcastically. “You have nothing left, James. Lost everything. All that remains is the Evans family debt.”
“I can sell my house...”
“Did you forget that it deed was in our hands the last time you left in defeat?” The man interrupts him again.
“I…” The words died on James' lips. “What do you need from me?”
Yes, he's at their mercy. He knows very well that Reviello is a man who should not be disappointed or challenged. To owe such a man is a worse sentence than losing a kidney... thinking on the other side, he has two of it... What harm would it be to miss one?
“Actually, James... I have the perfect proposal for you.” Asher says with a sly smile. “You have two daughters, don't you?”
James feels his stomach twist. He might throw up right there if he wasn't too scared to do it.
“Yes, that is correct...”
“Mr. Reviello is interested in one of them... I believe her name is Emily. Emily Evans. Do you have a daughter by that name, Mr. James?”
James took a deep breath, gathering his courage. “Yes, I have.”
Asher's smile gets even wider.
“Great, great! Well, that's what Mr. Reviello wants you to do, James. It's such a good offer, you can't refuse. He's willing to forget everything you owe to the casino and return the house’s deed, as well as the company's shares. All you must do, James, is allowing your daughter Emily to marry Mr. Reviello.”
James could feel as if a hole had opened up before his feet. Emily? Why would Reviello want to marry Emily?
“She just became nineteen…” James tries to argue.
“We’re aware. She’s young, but she’ll be treated very well by Mr. Reviello, I can assure you.”
“Don't you think marrying her is a little...”
“Be careful with your words. Keep in mind that you're not in a position to question or make demands.” Asher stops him.
James flinches back in his chair, startled.
“Why did he take an interest in my daughter Emily?” He asks fearfully.
“That is none of your business. This is the proposal. Either you accept that your daughter marries Mr. Reviello, or you'll have to find a way to pay your debts, which, I remind you, are immense. I don't think a kidney would be enough to pay them off in full... And I'm sure you remember, no one is indebted to a Reviello.”
James understands the situation very well. His debts are exceedingly high, and in the situation he's in, he would not be able to pay them fully. If he continues like that, he would lose his position as the controlling shareholder of the company he founded with his own blood and sweat. He would lose his family, his home. His wife and her expensive tastes could no longer be endured. She would be unhappy, miserable. Her entire life would collapse.
And he could solve all this with a deal that, yes, it's quite simple. But handing over her youngest daughter, his most prized possession, to a man whose face has never been seen, a man with a reputation for being a cruel bastard, a murderer, is too much. Emily is like an angel, with her blonde hair and rosy skin.
“Will Mr. Reviello really forget about the debt?” James asks fearfully.
“Yes, and he’ll return the company's shares and the house’s deed.” Asher assures him.
“What about today’s bet…?” Asher's expression tells him he's pushing too much.
“It'll be on the house.” Asher says impatiently. His hands drum the table in front of him.
“Emily is very fragile. I don't think she'll adapt to this kind of life...” He doesn't dare complete the sentence. “She doesn't know about the problems we face...”
“She doesn't know about her family debts.” Asher rephrases the sentence with an amused smile. That situation seems to entertain him — and, in fact, it does.
“No, she doesn't know.”
“Well then, it's time to tell her. She's the bride, after all.”
James lowers his head. He would need to give up his precious angel, after all, his whole life... all his efforts were crumbling before his eyes. So he makes his decision: give his daughter's hand in marriage.
“We have a deal.” James says, holding out his hand.
Asher shakes his hand briefly and, after withdrawing, wipes it on the side of his suit.
“We'll submit a formal proposal.”
James gets up and walks to the door. But before leave, he looks over his shoulder.
“Today is really on the house, right?”
“Yes, Mr. James.”
“So, can I return to the game?”
Asher frowns. There's an angry expression on his face. He just waves his hand in agreement, and James quickly withdraw.
“Fucker.” Asher mutters.
"Are you accusing me of tampering with the Moon Stone, Ethan?" Blaise's expression soured."Tampering with the Moon Stone is just one of the many crimes you've committed. The Rogues have told me that you often hire them to do your bidding. If I had to guess, you were probably involved in the kidnapping that took place years ago," said Ethan. He stared down at Blaise and added, "What happened to my wolf was not an accident—you should know this better than I do."The new Moon Stone emitted a blinding light when Ethan and I placed our hands on top of it. "Olivia and I are fated mates," Ethan declared as he wrapped an arm around me and helped me put on my ring. When the clock struck midnight, the moon was glowing in the sky. Ethan smiled softly and looked at me with a warm gaze."I've liked you for seven years, Olivia. I can't believe we're finally able to be together." He gently placed a kiss on the back of my hand. Blaise had made a complete fool of himself. Once everything was
"You should watch your mouth, Blaise," I said emotionlessly. "I pursued you romantically for years, but you rejected me anyway. What's stopping me from choosing someone else as my mate?"Frowning, Ethan urged the guards to escort Blaise away from the venue, "That's enough. Send Blaise back to his room." In a fit of rage, Blaise lunged forward and grabbed onto the collar of Ethan's shirt. Then, he growled, "You already have everything you could ever ask for, Ethan. So, why are you still trying to take what's mine?"First, you usurp my position as the future Alpha of the pack. Now, you're trying to steal my mate? You're so despicable."Furious, Theodore slapped Blaise across the face and barked, "That's enough! If you don't keep your mouth shut, I'll kick you out of the pack!"He continued, "Your uncle has the bloodline of an Alpha. It's perfectly acceptable for him to become the future leader of the pack. You're the one who's slacking off!"Instead of working for what you want, a
Upon hearing this, all of the guests immediately began to talk amongst themselves."What is going on?""The entire pack knows about the agreement between the Eastern Pack and the Silverwolf Pack. How could he just call everything off? Does he even have the right to do that?"With an arrogant expression, Blaise looked toward his parents and declared, "I refuse to accept Olivia as my mate. The future Luna of our pack can only be Susie!""As for the resources that the Eastern Pack has provided us with, I will make sure to compensate them accordingly in the future…" he added.I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for him. I found it hard to believe that I had such a huge crush on someone so shameless. The Silverwolf Pack had already used up everything that my pack had given them. Despite Blaise's claims, there was no guarantee that we would get those resources back in the future. I couldn't believe that Blaise was willing to offend the Eastern Pack to appease a nobody like Susie.
Because of how reckless and unreasonable Blaise acted in my last life, many questioned his capabilities as the Alpha of the Silverwolf Pack. If I hadn't given him the resources of the Eastern Pack, Ethan wouldn't have died. In my opinion, Blaise had no right to be the Alpha of the Silverwolf Pack. Blaise hated Ethan. He was jealous of Ethan, who, even after severely injuring his wolf, was still in charge of the Silverwolf Pack's business operations. Blaise despised the latter so much that he wanted him dead.In order to ensure he became the next Alpha, Blaise did everything in his power to remove Ethan from the equation. In fact, he was the one who orchestrated the kidnapping and hired some Rogues to beat the latter up. After the incident, Ethan's wolf became severely injured."What did you just say?" Blaise's eyes widened in shock. "You're going to become Olivia's mate? Did she trick you into this arrangement?""I'm being completely serious," Ethan replied. "I brought Olivia he
I walked toward the private room in the furthest corner of the establishment and opened the door. Dressed in a neat suit, Ethan was seated on the couch and surrounded by Betas. He exuded confidence—he didn't seem like a werewolf with a damaged wolf at all."What is the daughter of the Eastern Pack's Alpha doing here?" one of the Betas asked.I stared directly at Ethan and replied, "I'm here to take a look at my future mate."To my surprise, Ethan's gaze wavered ever so slightly. A hint of surprise flashed across his face before he let out a small laugh."So, do you like what you see?" he asked."Oh, yes," I responded.I walked over and sat on his lap. Then, holding his chin, I added, "I like him very much.""I thought you'd pick Blaise."Ethan allowed my hands to wander across his body, but he spoke to me in a careful manner. It was almost as if he was afraid of scaring me away.I shook my head. "What about you? Are you satisfied with your future mate?"While staring intently
After making all of these decisions, I let out a breath of relief. Then, I decided to head down to the bar Ethan owned to look for him.Ethan's bar was called Moonlight Lounge. Once I reached the main entrance of the building, I saw Blaise, who was supposed to be recuperating in the hospital. Blaise's arm was wrapped around Susie's waist, and the pair looked incredibly intimate. When Blaise caught sight of me, he stopped caressing Susie's face and frowned. "How did you find out about my whereabouts this time? Didn't I tell you to stop following me around?" he snapped in disdain. His friends, who were standing behind him, began to laugh."Olivia literally follows Blaise wherever he goes. How devoted," one said."Devoted?" another one snapped. "Can't you see that it's pissing Blaise off? She's so clingy…" "He already made it clear that he doesn't like her—why is she still throwing herself at him? You can't do whatever you want just because you're arranged mates, you know."I
