Axel looked over my shoulder before faking a smile and maintaining it. I guess Eliana must be looking our way. That made him pretend we are getting along. I am currently having my back to her, so I could not see what is happening behind me.

"What do you think you are doing?" I asked him. I needed him to know I was not buying whatever he was trying to sell here.

"What do you mean exactly?" He is still faking a smile.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh common. Don't play dumb with me." I scoffed. "Tell me, why are you really here?"

Axel looked around before responding. "Isn't it obvious? To see my daughter of course."

I laughed dryly. "Oh common Axel, you can drop the act now, it's only the two of us. You are out of Eliana's hearing."

Axel smiled. "But I am not. You probably haven't heard the whole story from your girlfriend." His nose flared at the mention of Eliana as my girlfriend.
