Chapter 23- The battle line

Katrina forced herself to stand up. She walked back to her room.

No noise came out from Eric's room. Maybe they settled already.

She got to her room and changed into dry clothes. She was still feeling cold.

She really needed to speak to Laura but she was very sure Laura was asleep now. She would just call her tomorrow.

Katrina climbed the bed and covered herself with the blanket. Eric's face kept coming to her memory and she forced herself to discard it. She forced herself to sleep.

NEXT MORNING

Katrina woke up feeling both emotionally and physically drained. She doesn't feel like coming down from the bed but she had to prepare Eric's breakfast.

It's her job and he pays her for it. She forced herself to come down from the bed, and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth.

After that she went downstairs, straight to the kitchen to start preparing breakfast. She decided to bake bread.
