Chapter 48- Running away

"You must be happy now that Katrina is gone. She left me because of you, " Maureen said.

These words sounded like bomb in Eric's ears.

"What do you mean by that? "Eric asked, not wanting to believe what he had just heard.

"Katrina is gone? " Hevasked.

"Here, read this, " Maureen said, giving him a note to read.

He read it and staggered back in shock.

"She's gone? She left me? " He asked no one in particular.

"She did and it's because of you! "Maureen screamed.

"You must be joking. I know she's in there hiding somewhere " Eric said and stepped into the room. Tom and Alex followed him, closing the door behind them.

"I'm telling the truth. My sister is gone and I don't know where she's right now. She didn't tell me where she was going and she did that to avoid you chasing after her" Maureen said.

The tears running down her cheeks made Eric realize she was telling the truth.
