Freya’s POV
For a moment Killian didn’t say anything. It was almost like he was trying to decide whether or not he could trust Vivian’s words.
His jaws flexed. “Let her in.”
Vivian nodded sharply, turning to a guard beside her and signaling to bring the masked doctor.
I used to think Vivian was smart, but lying to Killian was signing your own death sentence.
He didn’t just hate the act.
He loathed the entire existence and never spared those who lied to him.
In my past life, I remember he ripped out the tongue of a beta who had been feeding information to a rival pack.
Killian Greymark, let’s see what you’ll do when you find out your sweetheart is lying to you.
I drummed my fingers on my arm, humming softly as the masked doctor approached.
Killian stole a glance toward my side but I kept my eyes fixed on the entrance.
First was the low gasp, etched with shock and curiosity. The pack members present seized together trying to get a glimpse of the masked doctor.
My gaze sharpened. Her strides were careful and slow, moving with that soft grace as described by others.
She wore a white flowing gown, holding onto a flower embroidered tote bag.
Her mask was a sleek blue half mask, hugging the contours of the eyes and nose. Its edges were slightly curved. Tiny silver traced through the delicate patterns across the surface.
Every posture, every detail. It was all mine.
Interesting. This impersonator was doing a really good job trying to be something she was not.
“Greetings Alpha Killian.” She held onto her gown, doing a little cutesy bow. “It’s an honour being here.”
I paused, letting my finger hang midway in the air.
This lady, who was she? Was she in league with Vivian?
Tilting my head slightly, I traced a line over my arm.
Alpha Killian motioned for her to rise. “No. We should be the one thanking you, but—”
Killian let his words trail off with purpose.
The little fraud had the nerve to smirk, giving a graceful nod as she straightened. “I understand your concern, Alpha. You want to confirm my identity.”
My eyes rolled, watching as Vivian beamed beside the imposter.
They were definitely made for each other. My finger tore into my skin.
"Killian, you don't think I would lie to you. She's really the masked doctor." Vivian made that face—a low pout I had gotten used to over the years.
One that made me sick, yet I carried a smile because I was stupid.
"Vivian, I trust you."
His words hit me like a punch to the chest.
I shoved the feeling down, picking up on the way his voice turned soft when he spoke to her.
"The task I have at hand can only be handled by the masked doctor. If anything goes wrong, lives could be lost."
What sort of case does Killian need the masked doctor for?
Wait. This might actually play in my favour. If Killian is too busy with his problem then he won’t have the time to meddle with me. Perhaps fortune finally sides with me.
I bit back the smile.
"These are my handwritten prescriptions. Ones I've used over the years to help people." The imposter lifted her head with pride, beaming like she had just won the lottery.
Unfortunately, this might be her burial ground.
She passed a stack of notes to Killian.
Only then did his hand on my back slide down.
The exhale rolled off effortlessly as if a weight had been lifted.
"These are indeed medical prescription formulas." Killian said, assessing the papers attentively, flipping through the pages.
“But I haven't seen anything like this before.”
Once my eyes connected with the papers, I froze.
Those handwriting…..
I blinked.
They are mine.
How did she get them?
"Freya, what do you think?"
Killian’s question tore me back into the present. Everyone's gaze settled on me, waiting for my response.
All of a sudden he was asking my opinion about his business.
The Killian I know would never.
My hand fell to my chest, reaching over to the papers. Each stroke and line of the writing was a reminder of just how far I had come.
My father didn't let me practice medicine, so I stayed in the shadows learning from the scraps I could find.
I smiled, though my palm trembled against the paper I was holding.
All that hard work, taken by someone who doesn't know the first thing about medicine.
My lips stretched as I looked up at the masked doctor. "Your writing is quite unique."
She froze, not expecting that to be the first aspect I highlighted.
Killian was still watching me intensely.
I gave the papers back to him. "The prescriptions are..."
Vivian didn’t wait before she snapped sharply. "What?"
My fingers curved into the familiar okay sign. "Excellent."
The imposter gave a subtle bow.
"You flatter me Luna."
I waved her off, moving forward to take both of her hands. She froze.
"There is no need to be humbled. With you here, our medical system will surely improve.”
The pack members cheered and started clapping their hands in applause.
Once it died down, I turned to Vivian. " You have taken such a huge burden from our Alpha."
Vivian pursed her lips, adjusting her jacket. Her smug grin widened.
I scoffed inwardly.
It's only a matter of time before this ridiculous charade blows up in their faces.
Although these are my prescriptions, these formulas were training drafts I compiled. I tossed them a few years back due to the mistakes I made during the creation process.
Using an incomplete prescription was digging a pit to bury yourself.
However, it was not my problem.
Killian passed the notes back to the imposter. "The maids will prepare a grand quarter in the estate. I only hope the masked doctor will be available to hear the proposal tomorrow."
"Of course Alpha Killian," the imposter grinned.
Killian went over to Vivian and placed a hand on her shoulder, her cheeks flushed.
I wanted to tear my gaze away, but I stayed, letting myself watch how his mouth lifted upward as he whispered.
"I couldn't have done this without you."
Vivian stared back, her shoulder lifting a brow, and then she leaned closer to Alpha Killian. "It's been a long time since we spent time together. How about lunch tomorrow? It will be fun like old times."
Yes. I understood that they were meant for each other.
But I refused to be labelled as the Luna who lived in the shadow of her husband's mistress.
Anyways, I need to start planning my next move.
I took slow strides toward Killian. "It's late. I'm going to rest."
Killian snatched my arm before I took a step. His other hand found my waist like it was meant for it.
A tightness gripped my chest, as if his presence alone reminded me of what I stood to lose.
"Leaving without me?"
His persistence tested my patience, but I refused to show it.
Refusing him, now in public, was going to stir up a lot of drama, and besides I could feel Vivian's icy glance drilling a hole in my back.
I smirked, placing a hand on Killian’s chest, and his muscles stiffened. His eyes fell to the place I caressed.
"You were busy. I didn't want to disturb you." I narrowed my eyes at Vivian, placing my head against Killian’s chest. "My head hurts."
Vivian's jawline nearly crackled. She stepped forward to say something.
"We can talk tomorrow Vivian."
Killian said sternly, lifting me effortlessly by my thigh until I was pressed against him.
Instinctively, I tangled my hands around his neck.
"Let's go."

Freya’s POVI didn't expect to see Killian when I opened my eyes. I blinked just to make sure this wasn't a dream. The last thing I remembered was Rapheal holding me before I passed out.Where is he?“Are you awake now?”That definitely sounded way too deep to be a dream. Narrowing my eyes forward, I realized our hands were locked together and I felt his warmth slip through my veins. My attempt to scurry off went up in flames when Killian seized my wrist and yanked me forward. His hazel eyes flashed with that unreadable expression that made my throat dry.“Why are you avoiding me?” he asked, wrapping his hand tighter. Even though it didn't hurt, it wasn't gentle either.“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I hated how my voice faltered midway through the sentence.Killian didn’t seem like he was buying my excuse as his eyes kept searching for answers. His next words caught me off guard completely. “What were you doing in the woods? Did you come here to look for someone?”I froze,
Killian’s POVFor the first time in my life, I caught her scent—my Mate.I ran through the woods as something primal yanked me forward. My muscles tensed, heart pounding, her scent teasing me along the trail. Kale—my wolf pressed at the edge of my mind, urging faster. “We are losing her.”Today, I was doing my morning patrol when an intoxicating scent dulled my senses, forcing me to shift. Now as we moved, it felt like she was slipping away until nothing was left.“We lost her scent.” Kale wasn’t the only one disappointed. But some part of me didn't want to find her.How would I explain things to Freya if I truly found my fated mate and it wasn’t her? Not that I expected it to be.Reluctantly, we moved back to the tree where I kept my clothes. Shifting for me was done on a daily basis, but it didn’t help the pain that tore through my flesh with each transformation.“Luna, are you okay?”I slid my pants on, narrowing my eyes toward the voice. It was that Gamma, Rapahel, always hangin
Freya’s POVI've never felt a night could be so long. After they left, I tried desperately to fall asleep, but I couldn't.The rot.The darkness.Everything roped my senses as I struggled against my wrists bound by the rope."Please…" I cried, tears rolling down my cheeks."I don't want to die… please."The air started to grow thin and strained. Every gasp was a reminder that I was near death's door. No, I can't die.My teeth bared against the ropes as panic rose in my stomach and then…Clash!A fierce growl echoed through the dark space of the coffin I was in."Freya!"It was the exact same voice, the one I heard before I woke up in my second life.My eyes snapped open, and I was no longer in that coffin."What is this?" I mumbled, rolling my eyes through the empty space."It's all a dream."I whipped my head, and I saw thick silver fur and paws twice the size of any wolf I had seen."What are you?""Not what. Who." It was a soft yet thunderous voice that spoke with authority. Her pa
Freya’s POVKillian’s lips curved into a cold smile."That's not happening. Not now or ever," he said smoothly. My heart sank. The person he loved was his childhood sweetheart Vivian. So why was he refusing when I wanted to set him free?“Well, it will. You just have to accept it..."I frowned, taking up the sheets and getting off the bed to avoid his scent.Thump. Thump.Killian's foot padded against the floor, each step heavier than the last, tailing after me."Wh... what are you doing?" My throat dipped as I inched back.My fist clenched beside me.In my past life, it took Killian ten years to get rid of me. Now I might not even live to see those ten years. My back grazed the wall, as the sheets slipped through my fingers leaving me bare before him again. The cold sipped through my skin, feeling my nipples grow hard.Every instinct screamed at me to run, yet my body froze, trapped between fear and fury.Killian’s hazel eyes brimmed with darkness as he placed his hands a few inches f
Freya’s POV"Luna Freya, we have completed the nine days of mourning. It's time for the final rite… time to say goodbye to the deceased."I nodded without rising.Elder Darius approached, sighing softly. The council had sent him specifically to oversee this solemn duty. The funeral of an Alpha.Alpha Killian. My mate. My husband. His coffin rested upon the Moonstone Altar. Preserved by herbs and spells, he looked almost as though he were merely sleeping, not gone forever.I closed my eyes, and memory flooded in unbidden: me at twenty, him fresh from the frontier campaign, covered in blood and glory, kissing me for the first time at the victory banquet. Hot tears slipped down my cheeks before I could stop them. I wiped them away quickly and turned to Darius, signaling him to begin. It was time to let him go.Elder Darius raised his hands for the final sealing incantation.I shut my eyes in prayer.Goodbye Killian. If there is a next life, perhaps we…BANG.The sanctuary doors blasted
