Chapter 60- Mate Bonds

Ruth’s POV

For the first time in my life I find myself fidgeting in my seat on Jamari’s bed. The bed dips beside me as Jamari sits down and places her hand on mine to quiet my nerves. I volunteered to come help Jamari get ready for the Blood Moon so that I could talk to her about mate bonds, but now that I am here I find myself at a loss for words.

All of this is new to me. Aside from my father and Levi I have never cared about anyone before. Now I have Andrew and Jamari, but it is hard to pull myself from the cocoon I placed myself in all those years ago to protect myself from the pain of loss. Am I ready to expand my cocoon to fit in more people that could potentially leave me like my mother?

Toughen up Ruth! You are second in command in the Demon Realm, not some stuttering teenager in love for the first time. Time to rip off the bandaid.
